They changed ownership and it is very bad now. I found a hair in my food and they aren’t as knowledgeable about gf.

— Poor

They have GF soy sauce! EDIT: They have since updated their gluten free menu and it’s now much clearer. The chef was very kind and asked if my partner’s roll should also be GF safe.

NOTE: a friend of mine got mild food poisoning from the fish here.

Stopped here for lunch on our way through Santa Cruz. Great vibes at the restaurant and friendly staff!

Only note is for sensitive celiacs- they don’t quite have it down in terms of preventing cross contamination. Specifically in terms of serving, it comes out on wooden boards, and the chopsticks, side plates and soy sauce dishes are plastic, which may harbour gluten from prior patrons. I didn’t get very sick, but I was bloated afterwards, so I wouldn’t risk it if you’re super sensitive!

Affordable and delicious sushi! The salmon practically melted in our mouths, the rolls are creative and delicious and numberous, and almost all of the sauces are gluten free. The staff are very communicative with one another and with you as a diner. You'd never know it was gluten free. On top of all that, almost everything is or can be made gluten free, and they can work with you to accommodate needs.

I've eaten here a few times and they have amazing sushi! I like that they have a lot of gluten free imitation fish options that I had never tried before. I've gotten the plant based chirashi don and the regular chirashi don to compare and while the real seafood was better, the plant based was also good and I would get it again. They use mostly tamari in their sauces and much of the menu is gluten free however the menu was not marked. The krab, unagi sauce, and tempura are not safe.

Everything I've tried has been really delicious and the presentation was beautiful. My favorite is the trunks roll. Also the chef was really kind and understanding. I have a lot of anxiety around food and he was patient with my questions and understanding when I was sometimes triple checking to make sure it was safe. I will definitely be back!

Super friendly staff, a wide variety of GF items available. It's not a GF dedicated kitchen but they wiped down their knives and boards before making my sushi. And absolutely delicious vegan options as well!
