Didn’t get sick. The waiter checked with the kitchen on several items we asked about. They had gluten free rolls wrapped in tin foil.

I have a Casein allergy and my pasta had cheese on it. This was takeout and the manager argued with Me and hung up the phone. I ordered with Special instructions but he said no instructions were with the order. He offered for me to go there and pick up another order. The only way to get cheese on this pasta is to request it. I’m perplexed.

I did an Uber eats order for the first time for this restaurant. It’s very close to where I live. There was some mixup but the restaurant called me about eight minutes after I placed the order to confirm that I had the gluten allergy that I had put on the salad I was ordering. When I got the food, I was confused, but I looked up the item and saw it was exactly what I ordered.. the salad and the beef pasta peas was very good tasty zero issues

We had a really great experience here! The bread all came individually wrapped in foil to avoid cross-contamination, the manager came to speak with us, and the plates come out with another plate covering it. The menu was really large as well! Will be back!

Everything is done perfectly here. When I said I had a gluten allergy, the manager came over and explained what precautions they take to avoid any cross contaminations. When my food came out, it was in a different plate and covered to avoid any additional contamination. Will be going back here a lot for gf Italian food

First time and it was great. Excellent service. Delicious food enjoyed by everyone. As a celiac I was totally comfortable. Manager comes to table for anyone with a food allergy in order to provide assurance.

My 9 year old daughter has celiac so we eat GF as an entire family. We ordered by phone for pick-up and our ordered was confirmed GF by the manager. We ordered 2 pizzas, roasted wings, a chopped salad and chicken ziti broccoli and everything was excellent. We just moved to the area and will be eating there regularly.

I came here the very first night I was going fully gluten free after learning of my diagnosis, so I was a bit nervous. They immediately put me at ease with their clear knowledge and number of gluten free options. I got the chicken parm, which also came with gluten free pasta and was delicious. They also, without my asking, offered me a gluten free roll since they typically provide free bread to guests (which I appreciated since I used to take full advantage of free bread). The manager also came out to explain their methods and clarify that the chicken parm would still be gluten free even though it would “look like there’s real breadcrumbs on it.” Very accommodating and made me free very safe!
Edit: I’ve since gotten delivery multiple times and not only haven’t gotten sick but can also confirm the meal is always clearly marked with an allergy sticker. I’ve still only eaten the chicken parm but it’s just so good I can’t resist getting it every time!

Manager came out to talk about the precautions taken and the waitress was very kind, patient, and understanding of the importance of having a GF pizza for us.

I’ve been coming to Chateau for years. It’s not fine dining. It’s red sauce Italian comfort food. Christenings, funerals, birthdays, this is where you go. The bread and toasted ravs are no longer an option for me, but I’ve had good experiences with their gluten free options. Takeout has been clearly labeled as gluten free / allergy. In the restaurant, a manager came over to explain that he would oversee the meal and that my chicken parm used gluten free breadcrumbs. These could be left off as well. Food was good and hit the spot. My meal had a cover over it with a label (assume it indicated allergy) and was opened once it was placed in front of me. No crumbs jumping into my dish from my gluten eating kids. They seem to have a good system in place and take this seriously.

Was glutened. Very sensitive to cross contamination and was quite sick after eating here
No
I acknowledge that they have a gf pizza on their menu. And you can always order a salad. But the gf pizza was a soggy, floppy mess that only barely qualified as edible. It sustained life, but it did not rise even to the level of a decent dish.
Yes
Had a pretty large gluten free menu. Staff was really knowledgeable about how the dish would be made gluten free. Got the gluten free chicken parm and the roasted wings. Both were great.
very good. no cross contamination. Manager comes to check.

Felt very comfortable here. Gluten free menu including drink choices—many options. Staff reassured that items ordered were from the gluten free menu. A definite keeper!

Phenomenal! Separate GF menu with knowledgeable staff. Manager was sent over before and after meal was brought out. Delicious food 100% will come again.
Yes
Staff was super helpful and knew a lot about serving gf as well as other allergies. Gf pasta cooked in separate pots, and they even brought me out warm gf rolls to start. Amazing!
Yes
Very knowledgeable staff/management for celiac/gluten allergy. I tried their chicken parm penne and it was tasty. Will consider going back there for sure.
Yes
This was a great experience for all of my family especially my son who has celiac. Gluten free mac and cheese made his day as did the complimentary GF bread. The rest of us also thought the traditional menu items were delicious!
Yes
The staff and manager were very attentive and knowledgeable about Celiac. They don’t have a separate oven but are very careful with pizza prep . Many gf offerings on the menu too! Highly recommend !
Yes
This was a great experience. Manager came for every course to ensure I was safe . Great food and very celiac friendly .

When I told the waitress that I have a gluten allergy (celiac), they sent over a manager. They evidently do this for all allergies. There was a GF roll, and delicious GF chicken parm (no breading) with GF penne. Delicious sauce too - you can see why this place is a Boston institution. Very old world Boston Italian. And best of all - no gluten reaction!
Yes
Had the gf chicken parm - it was good! I want to go back and try some of their other options

Amazing for allergies! I have Celiac and a tree nut allergy; well done!
Two in our party had food poisoning after eating at the Waltham restaurant. We called the manager to report their unsafe food handling. He senied it saying we must have food alergies!
Good selection of gluten free meals, manager came over and made sure I knew they would make my meal carefully to avoid cross contamination. Great food and very friendly staff!
Lots of options and the management was fantastic with making sure there was no cross contamination.
Yes
Pretty decent selection of GF foods. I have several other food allergies as well and waitress brought the manager over to discuss my allergies. Manager spoke to the chef directly. No problems accommodating. Food was just okay but totally appreciate the extra care to make sure we were safe. I would go back again.

This place is fantastic! I enjoyed the rolls, and when the server saw the GF menu, she was quick to bring over the manager. They assured me that they use separate utensils, cookware, everything in the back. My food even came out covered with another plate to ensure no contamination.
Yes
Gf bread roll, amazing chicken broccoli penne, and much care on behalf of the staff. Excellent meal, reasonable price, deliciously gluten free.

Was here visiting from Rochester for the Needham Soccer Tournament and absolutely loved my GF sautéed broccoli and chicken pasta. Service was great and I got a bonus of a nice GF roll as I watched my wife and kids destroy 2 baskets of Italian bread. They loved their meals too!!
AMAZING! Several Options. A little bland, but most chefs are scared when you list allergies. They use Heartland GF Pasta products. The meal comes out with server (in leu of manager) but has another plate on top with a purple sticker! BRILLIANT! I now have a weekly staple in my dinners!
Yes
Nice menu for those with Celiac. Wish they had gluten free roll or starter like carrot sticks before the meal.
Yes
It is always great just wish they had an eggplant parm that was gf..I miss their eggplant parm!!
Huge gluten free menu including many pasta dishes! Very careful about cross contamination!

Update: went today for lunch. All I got is a salad with chicken and within an hour got very sick. Not sure if it was gluten or dairy or cross contact but I won’t be returning anytime soon.
Most of the time this location is great with allergies. They have a good selection for meals and the staff is friendly. There’s always a manager who checks in and makes sure everything is ok.
DO NOT get the steak tips! Like the other review I got glutened from eating the steak tip dinner. Must be in the marinade. First and only time getting sick here.

They have several gluten free items on the menu, including a gluten free section on the Kids Menu. The manager came to our table to talk with us in advance and then spoke with the kitchen. My 5 year old loved the kids Mac n cheese. They also had gluten free bread, but it was hard and didn't taste great.

I was so excited that my takeout order, a burger, came in packaging labeled with stickers that said gluten free.
The bun looked too good to be true and I was newly diagnosed with celiac disease. I ate it assuming it was a really good GF bun.
I was so sick hours later and I’m so much pain.
I called the next day to ask what company the gf buns are and they said “Udi’s”. I always have Udi’s rolls in my freezer so I knew that the roll I had eaten the night before was clearly not GF and I had been glutened.
I was so sad because of all the positive reviews but it was my fault for not calling them that night and sending it back..
This was July 2022.
UPDATE 2023
They wronged me again :( this time I had a gluten free Buffalo chicken sandwich that was definitely safe and deff had the Udi’s roll… but I asked for a side salad and LOL it had croutons on it. So the salad was packaged separetly and I gave it to someone else to eat but WTF?!?

Had the cauliflower crust pizza with bacon, pepperoni and of course pineapple. Wonderful taste and crust consistency. Only ask would be to improve the cutting of the slices. If we make it back to the Boston area, will definitely try to make it back.
