Very knowledgeable staff/management for celiac/gluten allergy. I tried their chicken parm penne and it was tasty. Will consider going back there for sure.
This was a great experience for all of my family especially my son who has celiac. Gluten free mac and cheese made his day as did the complimentary GF bread. The rest of us also thought the traditional menu items were delicious!
The staff and manager were very attentive and knowledgeable about Celiac. They don’t have a separate oven but are very careful with pizza prep . Many gf offerings on the menu too! Highly recommend !

When I told the waitress that I have a gluten allergy (celiac), they sent over a manager. They evidently do this for all allergies. There was a GF roll, and delicious GF chicken parm (no breading) with GF penne. Delicious sauce too - you can see why this place is a Boston institution. Very old world Boston Italian. And best of all - no gluten reaction!
Had the gf chicken parm - it was good! I want to go back and try some of their other options

Two in our party had food poisoning after eating at the Waltham restaurant. We called the manager to report their unsafe food handling. He senied it saying we must have food alergies!
Good selection of gluten free meals, manager came over and made sure I knew they would make my meal carefully to avoid cross contamination. Great food and very friendly staff!

Pretty decent selection of GF foods. I have several other food allergies as well and waitress brought the manager over to discuss my allergies. Manager spoke to the chef directly. No problems accommodating. Food was just okay but totally appreciate the extra care to make sure we were safe. I would go back again.
This place is fantastic! I enjoyed the rolls, and when the server saw the GF menu, she was quick to bring over the manager. They assured me that they use separate utensils, cookware, everything in the back. My food even came out covered with another plate to ensure no contamination.
Gf bread roll, amazing chicken broccoli penne, and much care on behalf of the staff. Excellent meal, reasonable price, deliciously gluten free.
Was here visiting from Rochester for the Needham Soccer Tournament and absolutely loved my GF sautéed broccoli and chicken pasta. Service was great and I got a bonus of a nice GF roll as I watched my wife and kids destroy 2 baskets of Italian bread. They loved their meals too!!
AMAZING! Several Options. A little bland, but most chefs are scared when you list allergies. They use Heartland GF Pasta products. The meal comes out with server (in leu of manager) but has another plate on top with a purple sticker! BRILLIANT! I now have a weekly staple in my dinners!
Nice menu for those with Celiac. Wish they had gluten free roll or starter like carrot sticks before the meal.

Each of my last 5 visits had a problem from sauces forgotten or burned away to over done. The last straw was getting badly glutened with the chicken parmesan. Seems like they have lost their attention to quality and allergy protocols in the kitchen over the past year.
I had a good experience here. They have a separate gluten free menu which outlines numerous options. The server was knowledgeable and immediately alerted the manager of my restrictions. The manager came over and personally handled the delivery of my order. The server did bring bread to our table for the rest of my party and the manager asked if I would like gluten free bread. It was brought out warm and wrapped in foil to ensure compliance. I had the Greek salad, the GF roll and the sauté chicken and broccoli pasta. Very delicious and I did not get sick. I would recommend this location for sure.
As soon as the waitress saw the gluten free menu in front of me, she brought me gluten free bread. After ordering, a manager came to our table to assure me that she had spoken to the kitchen to ensure there wouldn't be any cross contamination. They have an extensive GF menu which includes several mixed drinks and GF beer. They made me very comfortable.
Specifically Burlington location...They don't put much (if any) effort into their "GF" menu options. I'll NOT be returning. Their are many other GF friendly places nearby where plentiful options AND better prepared and tasty GF food is available.
Yikes! About six months ago got to bottom of chicken Parmesan and saw several long spaghetti strands! Went today and they served my "gf" buffalo chicken sandwich on a regular bun. On both occasions I stressed celiac I asked upon ordering reiterating upon being delivered and in the case of the bun even before I bit into it...only to find out in both cases neither were actually gluten-free! People make mistakes but this place seems to have fundamental and persistant ignorance about celiac and apparently process.
My daughter and I, both Celiac, were in Andover for a dance competition and saw a good review so we decided to try it. The first night we were pleasantly surprised. Manager came out and assured us they were on it. The second night we decided to go back but it was much busier. My daughter ordered the GF kids pizza. When I questioned it, because it didn't look like any GF pizza I've ever had, the server said yes and assured me it was. My daughter is now vomiting. I will not be going back!
Just had a great experience at the Chateau in Stoughton. They have a pretty decent sized GF menu, including pasta, bread and pizza. Was offered a GF roll that came out with the bread basket- and it was brought out separate by the manager. I just got penne and sauce but it was delicious- and again brought out by the manager. The waitress was awesome and went out of her way to make sure my food was safe.
Gf chicken broccoli ziti. It can be great. The issue is really with consistency. I've never gotten sick, but I've also never had this meal served the same way any time I've ever ordered it. The kitchen staff appear to be vigilant in avoiding cross contamination.
I felt safe after talking to the manager, but the food wasn't worth the experience. The waitress didn't know much about the food - couldn't tell me what was in the various salads. The broccoli was tasteless mush. I asked for a medium rare burger, and got it on the third try. The first two were well done. The roll was Udi's, wrapped separately, but barely toasted, so it tasted bad. I won't be going here again.
I would give 5 stars for being gluten free but the food needs work. the pasta was under done and the chicken parm was dry. this place is amazing for people who need gluten free 10 years ago but in today's world of accommodating restaurants it left a lot to be desired.
While everyone's opinion of the food will vary, I'm giving 5 stars based on the gf menu and staff's attention to detail. I have both a gluten and dairy allergy. The staff checked everything. In fact, I ordered the marinara sauce because I checked the jar of sauce they sell in the lobby and it was dairy free. The manager informed me that the one from the kitchen was different and used to contain onions sauteed in butter, but since someone else asked for it to be diary free like the jarred sauce they recently changed the recipe. They definitely take cross contamination seriously. They double checked the rolls to make sure they were truly dairy free and they heated them wrapped in foil to avoid gluten contamination. It was nice to have so many choices and feel safe that I was getting something that wouldn't make me sick.
So many GF options.... I was in GF heaven! Started with warm tasty GF bread; then I had scallops & shrimp in cream sauce with mashed & garlic spinach......Deelish! Manager visits table personally. Ambiance lovely! We had a table at the window overlooking the water. Highly recommend! Will def be returning!!
GF menu has several good choices including pasta. Manager always comes over to verify order. In the several times we have been there, we only had a problem once with a waitress who had not been properly trained and tried to give us regular pasta. But the manager stepped in and ensured we received the right GF meals. Definitely on our list of top places to dine.
They were really accommodating with my gluten allergy. I had chicken, veggies, and pasta with marinara sauce. Everything tastes very fresh, the chicken was perfectly marinated and grilled. One of the better Italian places I've been to for gluten free food
9/1/13 I've upped my rating. We've had take out a few more times without issue. 12/26/12 I've had takeout 2x. They have a GF Sauteed chicken penne & broccoli that my 4yr old daughter likes. The pasta is Heartland - the best GF pasta we've found so far. The low rating is because they mixed up my GF veggies with my wife's non-GF rice. It was busy when we ordered.
One of my favorite restaurants before getting sick. I'm so glad & happy I can still eat here! The gluten free menu has many options... Although I didn't see pizza or bread. Excellent pasta dishes cooked right... Wasn't over cooked & broken up. Staff is knowledgable & manager oversees the cooking process. Great GF experience !
The decorations of the Chateau are wonderful. The restaurant boasts a large gf menu including appetizers, salads, and desserts. Today I opted for the chicken parm with pasta. The plate was a large portion and the sauce was chunky with a slight hint of garlic. I would have liked to have seen a bit more basil flavor and overall seasoning. The sauce was on the liquid side and could have benefitted from being thicker. The chicken was bland and could have used some seasonings. The pasta was slightly overcooked but gf pasta can be difficult if you do not cook it a lot. Overall, mediocre main course lacking flavor/seasoning. For dessert I opted to try the gf brownie. I was told the brownie was a new addition to the menu. The brownie was served hot with ice cream, whip cream, and chocolate syrup. This is a must have - decadent and delicious. So, in review - chicken parm is average and dessert is outstanding.
Ordered penne with veggies , after I ate about half of it I found spaghetti at the bottom of the bowl. There is no gluten free spaghetti at the chateau. They did take my meal off the bill and the manager apologized and assured me that the kitchen has a separate gluten free area. Be cautious if you eat there look through your pasta before you eat it!
