Server was great and well versed in the gluten free options they offer. I am a symptomatic celiac and enjoyed the Penne & Chicken Alfredo with no issues arising! Will definitely return. WEM Old Spaghetti Factory holds up to being the best one around. Come to Edmonton and skip the ones in Calgary, Banff.
100% confidence at this restaurant and recommend to those need to eat GF.
The staff made me feel like I wasn't a burden and when I ordered my waiter made sure to inform the chef and manager of my dietary requirements. They also had a separate menu for GF which listed some details on what they could make GF as well as a blurb about their fountain sodas possibly coming into contact with gluten. I felt confident in ordering my food knowing how serious they were taking care.
The food itself super delicious and our waiter was amazing. Despite how busy it was he felt calm and took the time to make sure I felt safe eating there.
Entire separate gluten free menu. Separate storage and cooking/prep areas. Servers go through two steps before they can place a GF order, talking to their manager then the manager needs to talk to the kitchen staff to ensure no miscommunication. Corn based GF pastas are available, along with steak and chicken entrees. I had the mushroom penne and it was amazing. Tossed salad with Italian dressing, all salad dressing GF. Highly recommend!
Seperate gluten free menu. Staff are very knowledgeable and very careful. Really good penne pasta! Unfortunately there is no GF dessert, but it’s nice that they let you know that the ice cream/Spumoni has a “may contain wheat”, so it’s not safe for celiacs. They take it seriously.
Identified need for gluten free, waitress asked if it was preference or allergy. Indicated Allergy. She took my daughter’s order from the gluten free menu, and asked if she wanted minestrone soup or salad with it. My daughter said soup, I said just to clarify, the soup is also gluten free? She assured me it was. When soup arrived, it was the same soup that was given to me, and others at the table, which made me question. I said, I’m sorry to be a pain, but I just want to double check that these pasta shells in the soup are for sure gluten free. She said she would go and double check with management. Upon returning, she apologized and said it was a miscommunication and that the soup was not gluten free.
I had an enjoyable meal here. They have a separate menu indicating gluten friendly items (friendly as it is not a dedicated kitchen). They offer GF penne at a $1.25 up charge which is quite reasonable and have aa selection of full menu items. They even have GF Alfredo sauce. They have a nice little kids menu which makes it favourable for families. There is no GF bread to start, however they have options for salad and soup. While not an upscale restaurant, the food was reasonable and worked for our family.
