You guys, this place is a MUST! There are more GF items on the menu than not, staff are all super knowledgeable and kind, kitchen has dedicated cooking space and a dedicated fryer. I had wings, shaved prime rib French dip with aus jus, French fries and coleslaw. It was all so good I was stuffed! I want to go back in the summer and eat on the outdoor patio. Love this place!
The food was delicious, but our waiter did not speak English well and did not understand when I asked about gluten free. There is a $10 charge to park since it in the hotel property. They were out of lemonade, the Red Rum drink and one of the food items. Good option in Estes Park, which has limited Celiac safe places, but the overall experience was underwhelming.
Ate at The Post 2 weeks ago on a vacation to Estes Park. We had the most wonderful fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy with an amazing salad for a starter. I am very sensitive and had no issues at all after this scrumptious meal! Wished there was a place like this back home.
Delicious dinner! My son and I have celiac. Enjoyed the gf fried chicken lettuce wraps, Brussel sprouts, fries, gf fried tenders, mashed potatoes with gravy. Dedicated fryer for the gf fried chicken and fries. Staff very knowledgeable and responsive about celiac and cross-contamination. Neither of us got sick and we made a second reservation to go back before we leave!
Know that you have to pay $10 for parking :(. When I was surprised- the parking attendant said I could have a token for $5 off - but I just don’t like to pay to park. I they had some excellent chicken so I still went! I spoke to the manager who told me how they take making gf food safe for celiacs. I took my sandwich to go … AMAZING VIEWS.
I couldn’t believe their fried chicken was gluten free, it was so good! A decent number of their sauces are also gluten free, which you can have the chicken tossed in or on the side. There were also several other items on the menu that were marked gluten free. Staff seemed knowledgeable and everything was delicious!
We booked a 4:30 dinner reservation because it was the only availability that night. My daughter had the chicken tenders and said they were the best she ever had. The rest of us shared an 8 piece fried chicken meal with 2 sides (slaw and mashed potatoes). They were 8 very large & meaty pieces and we couldn’t finish it all! My non-celiac daughter thought the bone-in chicken was too peppery and I think she would have liked the tenders better. The slaw was good. I was a bit disappointed in the mashed potatoes. Overall though it was delicious and a very reasonable price for a family of 4. The restroom was also very clean which i appreciate.
Food is phenomenal! I haven’t had fried chicken in years and it was incredible. The restaurant uses rice flour, so most fried items are safe. I am very sensitive and ordered the gluten free fried chicken, brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes, and french fries. I did not get sick at all. Their cocktails were amazing as well! Highly recommend calling ahead for a reservation!
Had some amazing fried chicken here. Can’t believe it’s gluten free! Also had the collard greens, Cole slaw, and mashed potatoes. I asked if the fries were cooked in a dedicated fryer and they said they weren’t which I found surprising and they mentioned they would be cross contaminated. I guess they use a different fryer for the chicken 💁🏻♀?
I’m shocked that a place exists where EVERYTHING is fried in rice flour, so the chicken strips were safe and delicious! Although the chicken was good, do not sleep on the French fries!! I’m pretty picky about my French fries especially now that I can’t eat them often, and these are DELICIOUS. The seasoning and the crispy perfection, chefs kiss. 👏🏻
Great local chain right in Estes Park at the Stanley Hotel. Where else can you get gluten free fried chicken?? Great food, have eaten here 3 times and never gotten sick.
First time having fried chicken like this in probably 10+ years. So good!
Best gluten free chicken I’ve had since being diagnosed. Even though the chicken is gluten free, make sure to tell them you are celiac or have a gluten allergy. They cook their tenders in oil with other gluten food, but will cook tenders to order in a dedicated fryer if you tell them.
Greta experience. Spoke with the manager and all there chicken is gluten free. If you want French fries ask for them to be cooked in the dedicated fryer. Manager was knowledgeable about celiac and food was delicious. Heads up have to pay $10 to park but you get a $5 token to use at the restaurant or keep as a keepsake.
giving it 5 stars because I ate safely (I hate when people mark less but didn’t get sick)
The chicken tenders ARE celiac friendly. The fries ARE not safe. The fries go in a different fryer than the chicken. I had that and cole slaw and it was very good. Deviled eggs to start and that was probably my fave part of the meal.
The cons- I felt like I had to ask a ton of questions which I know we all hate. Some things marked GF are okay and some aren’t- some of which didn’t make sense to me. Had to go back and forth a few times but eventually got it right with the waiter.
It’s a cool stop if you’re going to the Stanley.
If you're a celiac like myself, you cannot get everything labeled as "gf" on the menu. I was looking forward to getting the chicken tenders, which are labeled as gluten free, but have some serious cross contamination. Thankfully the wonderful bartender informed me that the batter on the tenders is indeed gluten free, but the fryer is where cross contamination occurs since it is not a separate fryer.
