On a word-of-mouth recommendation I tried a gluten free grilled cheese sandwich. The cheese was not melted, the inside of the sandwich was soggy and inedible, probably from the jarred, cold, "roasted" red peppers. What little bread I ate left a bad after taste. This was a total disappointment. I left hungry.
Soo good! It has the best homemade gluten free bread grilled cheeses!
Good variety of baked goodies with GF labeled and listed. White GF bread available for sandwiches. Got a grilled cheese with fancy cheese. At counter was asked allergy or preference. Allergy placed on kitchen ticket.
GF pastries and sandwiches. They asking you have allergy or sensitivity at the counter when ordering. delicious!
Had a GF sandwich, coffee and a dessert and loved it! Definitely good for people with celiacs they are great with allergies and labels!
Awesome GF snickerdoodle, rice Krispie treat, chocolate chip cookie and flourless chocolate torte.
Great food, very GF friendly. Wouldn’t recommend coffee or lattes though, the coffee was too bitter and after two tries with lattes both which had no flavor to them
We’ve been here as celiacs, my son and I, on numerous occasions thru the years. Every time we visit Boston, it’s our first stop. Delicious GF cookies, delicious coffee, cool atmosphere, super nice serving staff. However, and this kills me to say this, the last time we went, we both got really sick after eating the GF chocolate chip cookies. And both of us eat out often and very rarely ever get sick. I assume there was some cross contamination issue in the baking preparation.
Great food & safe! Will be back!
Awesomeeeeeeeeee donut. So good. Coffee was pricey and they charged extra for almond milk. But the donut though...
This place was delicious! They had gluten free bread for sandwiches, gf cookies and other pastries, and great coffee! The staff was wonderful as well.
Delicious gf sandwich and the staff was very conscientious of notifying the kitchen it was an allergy.
Super yummy gluten free breakfast sandwich! They also have great lunch options and some pastries. When ordering tell them it's celiac or for an allergy and they will be careful of cross contamination. It's
Went here for the first time last weekend and it was great. Got a gf breakfast sandwich and it was delicious. Can't remember the last time I was able to pop in somewhere and get a breakfast sandwich and a coffee.
Stopped here for lunch. It is alittle coffee shop with sandwiches, prepackaged items (fruit cups, sm salads, juices, puddings, etc.) They have GF bread and they said they use a separate toaster for GF sandwiches. They also had GF chocolate chip cookies, GF chocolate torte slice and I think one GF pudding. My daughter had a turkey sandwich with honey mustard. I was alittle nervous as it was really busy and the place is really small (there was no open indoor seating left, so we ate outside). She didn't get sick, so I think it was ok - I would recommend for a quick bite and the cupcake place right next door (Georgetown Cupcakes) has 1 GF cupcake selection per day. So if looking for a coffee or a snack it is ok but not for a big meal.
Gluten free chocolate chip cookies!!
I had a breakfast sandwich that was good. They offer gf bread for their sandwiches and also have gf chocolate chip cookies!
I second the Tiramisu being yummy. 👍 5 stars for the tiramisu. The coffee is also good. I haven't had any other offerings.
Tiramisu tasted good.
Typically the one to test places for my family as im not a very sensitive celiac. Came here once and asked the cashier about cross contamination for a sandwich made on gluten free bread. Cashier said i would be safe from CC. I went down the line to watch my sandwich being made alongside everything else including same utensils and gloves with all other sandwiches. Wanted to give it benefit of the doubt being prime lunch time busy and perhaps made a mistake this one time. I ate the sandwich (which tasted delicious) as im not super reactive all the time. However i tried this place again hoping for a better outcome. This time during a slow period where my coworker and i were the only ones in line, specifically asking cashier to make sure gloves and utensils would be changed at the very least, to which i was told would happen. But once again i watched my sandwich get handled with same gloves, cutting board, utensils alongside my coworkers sandwich (which was not gf) Needless to say i chose to not eat the sandwich this time. I gave atleast 2 stars just because for taste purposes, the food here is quite delicious. But for the lack of effort that i have been given for my circumstances, 2 stars is all i will give as i would definitely not risk bringing my very reactive daughter here.
Run don’t walk! This place is amazing! I had gf tiramisu that was delicious. Took home a gf brown sugar pumpkin donut that was so good. Also tried their gf vegan snickerdoodles- wow! They taste like pure butter but there’s no butter (vegan). Great place for dessert!
Coffee shop in North End part of Boston. They offer both GF and non- GF baked items. Have GF tiramissou, and an unbelievable Vegan/ GF Snickerdoodle made w/ Almond flour. I would consider this a place to go after having dinner in North End, to grab a Cappucino and a sweet after dinner.
Went here today for the first time... placed my order and let the lady at the counter know that I was a very sensitive celiac so proper handleing is essential. She assured me they were very aware and used all precautions. I walked down the line and watched the young lady making my sandwich. She started by changing her gloves.... then wiped off her counter... next step was heating my bread which she did by wrapping it first in foil before placing it in the press... I was so very impressed that they would take the time to think that far in to the process... I had actually been thinking as I was watching "Oh well, there is the cross contamination potential, and I would probably be eating the filling and leaving the bread even though the bread itself was gluten free" When she wrapped it in foil I wanted to hug her!!! Then the poor girl dropped one slice on the counter when she unwrapped them... she immediatly without any hesitation took that slice and put it in the trash and prepared a new slice! I am so excited to have found this place! I know I will go back there again, and again, and again :D Very, clean, very pleasant, right on top of the allergin issue... I just wish I could give them more than 5 stars!!! Had to come back and edit this review! I indulged and purchased a gluten free pastry, they had a black forest cake today.... little layers of cake with cream filling and cherries.... out of this world!!! Anyone with celiac can attest to how rare good pastries are and a shop that sells really good gluten free bread for your sandwich!
Did not change gloves before getting out my bread (from a basket with other non-gf bags of bread in it too), and putting it on tin foil to heat it up, or before getting out the bacon to heat it up. After those things were warmed up, they changed gloves to put the sandwich together, but it would have already been contaminated. I didn't dare eat it.
Very good. I had a BALT on gf bread and thought it was delicious. The bread was perfectly crispy. They also have French macarons which are delicious (but very tiny). Portions could be better, service could be better, and prices were a little high. But overall I would go back.
I would give the chocolate chip cookie two stars, but overall the place gets one because while they have gf bread, they do not understand celiac at all. I asked the person taking my order to change gloves and wrap the sandwich in aluminum foil and she looked confused. She asked, "why?" That's when I knew not to risk it.
