Have never had an issue with the sushi and all of it is packed with GF soy sauce. I cant say enough good things about all of their GF offerings. From the premade meals, to their bakery baked goods(they sell by the slice and 1/4 GF sheet cakes), to the expansive GF aisles, and the ice cream cakes- its a dream come true. They have 2 dedicated GF aisles but also have tons of stuff sprinkled throughout on the regular shelves. Go! You won’t be disappointed.
Clear labeling, but employees have NO idea. I even asked one guy at the burrito kiosk and he didn't seem the least bit interested in checking or offering an intelligent response. Just said "I wouldn't know (if that's GF). You'll have to just figure it out." Ummmm, what?!? Sushi IS gluten free. GF soy sauce. Be careful of cross-contamination. And make sure to indulge in a GF adult beverage... They have a semi-decent selection.
We ordered a full GF sandwich tray from catering to pick up for a party. We gave 24 hours notice but they told me they could do it with 3. Everything was fresh, the portions were huge, and the toppings were great. Would have been WAY more expensive to make all those sandwiches myself. They took care to avoid CC and we did not get sick. Will order again.
Wegmans has tons of GF items, both labeled GF and prepared food labeled with No Gluten Containing Ingredients. I’m a symptomatic celiac as is my son and we’ve never had a bad experience here including their amazing sushi, Burger Bar, and Bowl Bar.
The only exception is the hot bars, but that’s just too risky for cross contact. We also don’t get gf pizza from the pizza shop.
Great takeout to pick up a quick dinner after grocery shopping. We have had their pre prepared meals, safely prepared hoagies, pizza, sushi. (Including shrimp tempura sushi), and poke bowls with no issues for years.
Also if you’re so inclined you can get gf beer and cider to go with your meal. Thanks for doing such a great job Wegmans!
In addition to the grocery selection at Wegmans, which has great allergen-friendly sections, there are a variety of reasy-to-eat allergen-friendly meals too. You can order gluten-free (and dairy-free) pizzas, you can get a sub on gluten-free bread (similar to Jersey Mike's), and there are always at least a few gluten-free dessert options, as well as some that are dairy-free too.
If you need something quick or need to grab food while grocery shopping, this is always a solid option.
