This was right near my terminal and seemed to be the only spot nearby with GF options. You order on your phone and there’s a box to signify any allergies. I ordered the Spanish Dynamite roll and they brought it out with the ponzu sauce removed (not gf) and gave me a side of gluten free soy sauce. The taste was just ok, but I didn’t have high expectations for airport sushi.
Went to the one by C1. Really quiet area even at 1230pm on a Monday.
Sushi was excellent. Tamari instead of soy. Just scan qr code to order and put in gf in notes.
Awesome
I came here without my son, who is the celiac, to try out their food for when we travel. The waitress here was aware of celiacs, helped me figure out what could order that was GF, and when it came out, the salmon roll was delicious. Not fishy and didn’t miss the sauce at all. I don’t know about cross contamination but she was knowledgeable, I overheard her let the chef know, and they had tamari.
Not sure if they have a location in terminal 5 but they defiantly have one in/near terminal 2
Had the Chicago dragon (gluten free) and was great. Not to spicy. Also had side of tuna Nigiri and was smooth as silk. No fish taste at all so very fresh. Also very quick service. Staff was knowledgeable about gluten free and also brought gluten free labeled soy. Also app allows you to specify gluten free for certain dishes.
Celiac knowledgeable staff and clean. There are the usual things to know / avoid (soy sauce, tempura flakes, poke sauce) so stick to the sushi basics to be extra safe. They do have tomari. There is also a little know full bar. Located on Terminal 2 Gate E1 just past the connector to Terminal 1
Great option for gluten free food in an airport! They didn’t have a separate or marked up gluten free menu, but the server assured me they could make almost any roll gluten free. The staff took care in double checking that everything in the roll I ordered was gluten free and safe from contamination, and I did not get sick eating here. They make it in sight so you can see if they change gloves, etc. However, they did serve it with ponzu sauce on the side. I asked if that was gluten free and the staff member wasn’t sure so they asked the chef who confirmed it was not. They changed it out for tamari but my advice is to just double check about the sauce they serve you when you go. Some people forget about soy sauce/ponzu sauce having gluten!
We were very disappointed to arrive from the other side of the country to learn that they had stopped making sushi. Not sure if the reason was lack of staffing or if they plan to resume making sushi again. It was October 2021, so perhaps due to the pandemic. The only other gluten-free option was shrimp cocktail; no meals. We had to hunt for anything reasonable to eat during our layover.
My server, Kim, filled a small bowl with soy sauce as she came to the table. As soon as I said I was gluten free, she whisked away the bowl, brought a new one and filled it from a bottle marked Gluten Free. She quickly pointed out EVERYTHING on the menu that was GF. I got the veggie roll, then asked if they had a GF dessert. She brought banana wrapped in rice, drizzled with chocolate sauce and topped with whipped cream! Delicious! During our conversation I found out she also cannot eat gluten. Excellent find, especially in an airport. This was in terminal 2.
The staff was brilliantly aware of how to accommodate gluten allergies, immediately directing me to suitable menu items and going so far as to show me labels for the soy sauce & wasabi. Upon my notifying them that I’m also intolerant of dairy products, they adjusted their recommendations without hesitation- I still had a number of options. They did have gluten free soy sauce (alcohol free Kikkoman Tamari), but the miso soup is not gluten free. The yellowtail roll & sashimi were of good quality, especially for an airport, and I was surprised by the excellent presentation of my orders. The service was fast, and the employees seemed to have positive opinions of the restaurant; they were very respectful of one another and seemed to have excellent professional relationships. The seating is comfortable and the restaurant is set in a relatively quiet, cozy nook of the C concourse. Under-seat power outlets are available and tables are large enough to provide a comfortable work surface.
