Update: Still a happy customer. I still suggest that you speak to the manager before you order. They will supervise the whole process. I've been eating at Wok'n Fire since they opened. When I was diagnosed with celiac, I was happy to discover their gluten-free menu. Tell the manager and your server about your issues with gluten. If the General Manager is there, you should be all-good. She follows your order from start to finish. I've only had issues when I did not explain my situation to a manger and relied on the server to bird-dog my order. The food is excellent and the service has always met or exceeded our expectations.
It is probably the choice I made that causes me to only give 3 stars. The Mahi Mahi tasted too dry for me but the vegetables were good. The next time I come here I will get a vegetarian meal. A lot of restaurants just don't prepare fish that well. My son liked his Mahi Mahi and wants to come back. The place is very nice to dine in and the server was right on things.
This restaurant is fantastic! Our server Lauren was exceptional. My husband and I both have celiac‘s disease, and sometimes have a hard time finding restaurants that are safe. Lauren made sure that everything we had was safe and gluten-free. The food was phenomenal. I ordered mahi-mahi with fried vegetable rice and my husband ordered, a red curry shrimp stirfry. Both were delicious. For dessert I ordered a ninja roll, which is a banana wrapped in pink ginger wrapped in rice, drizzled with a cream sauce. It was beautiful and so so yummy. The prices were reasonable, we didn’t wait very long for food. I had a mai tai that was also delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to any one with celiac’s disease. I have issues with dairy and egg in addition to celiac, and they were able to accommodate me. Neither of us had any stomach distress after. Do you do all of my allergies, my order is usually complicated and filled with lots of substitutions, Lauren was so kind and accommodating, and never made me feel badly for needing to order that way.
GF menu with lots of options including sushi, which I haven’t been able to find in 10 months. So good! They had so many options, my non-Celiac friends and I were able to all order from the GF menu and share.
read the old reviews but thought we'd try it anyway. confirmed with the waitress that I was ordering the gluten free version of chap chae. was brought the breaded gluten version which I realized when I saw that the scallops were breaded. I asked the waitress what it was breaded with and she returned it to the kitchen. I was brought the gluten free version but of course was very nervous eating it as it was an inexperienced cook at fault the first time. we had arrived right at 3 and asked if we could still order from the lunch menu. we were told yes but the bill arrived at full dinner price. so not only am I still nervous that I might get sick, I got to pay extra for it too!
service was great and none of the sushi gave me issue, but I think the chicken wraps from the starter menu did- as soon as I ate one my stomach tightened up and I woke up the next day with a headache. I will go back and just stick to the sushi. I really liked the tiger rolls.
Absolutely amazing food and selection!! The food is delicious, the staff is extremely knowledgeable about Gluten free, great atmosphere and a large list of options. The Teriyaki Steak is exceptional and the Fried Rice with chicken, shrimp and steak all added is a taste explosion. I like Wok'n Fire so much I've eaten there 5 times in the last 6 months.
They have gluten free soy sauce. A menu with a lot of options to choose from. The sushi is great and the teriyaki steak is another good one from the menu. Just wish they had gluten free dessert. One of my favorite place to go to eat.
A whole GF menu including sushi. The service was top notch, the food was great and the atmosphere is fun to boot! I would say this is now my favorite Asian inspired restaurant! Try it out for yourself, ps - there is one in South Barrington too
Great menu! they have a lot of GF items even GF soy sauce & GF teriyaki sauce. We got an order of the lettuce wraps for appetizer they were so good, and they give you a lot of filling and lettuce cups. The only downfall, they don't have any gf desserts.
Outstanding selection of gluten free options. Service was wonderful, and most importantly the food was absolutely delicious. I had lettuce wraps for starters, which my 9 year old has declared "the best ever". The spicy ahi in a wasabi vinagerette was to die for. Cooked to perfection and seasoned beautifully. Only problem was I couldn't finish, because of the very generous portion size. It will make great leftovers for lunch though, can't wait!
