Their menu is gluten sensitive menu, not gluten free. I was told that they make their own corn tortilla chips in a SHARED fryer. I didn’t risk it. I ordered the salad from the gluten sensitive menu and was served a salad with glutenful croutons ☹
Food was delicious, our server ensured the risk of cross contamination was eliminated. I did not get sick even better I want to give a shout out to the staff working the Boston location Friday night 7/29. The caring attentiveness of so many staff. I was there with my mother who was having a difficult time breathing and everyone was so helpful bringing her ice, water and finding her seating. Even bringing her a chair so she could sit outside and get some fresh air. The amazing gentleman who stayed close by in case we needed anything and called a cab for us. It made a very difficult situation much easier for us. I am so blessed to have chosen this special place to have dinner before the Redsox game. Please send a Thank you to everyone and the kindness that was given to us in this challenging moment. We made it to the game and because of the amazing staff we ended up having an enjoyable evening.
Oh my, wonderful service. Manager came to my table and explained the cooking procedures for allergens. He said the cooks will change cutting boards, Gloves and sauté my shrimp separately. The server was very knowledgeable. There was an adequate amount of GF choices. I would definitely recommend. I am celiac and extremely sensitive. I had the blackened shrimp tacos. Very yummy, very spicy.
We had a great experience at this restaurant for my daughter. The chef came out to talk to us, ensured he would use clean cooking surface and utensils and said “we will do everything we can to keep her safe”. She had a burger with a GF bun and mashed potato’s which she really enjoyed!
Gluten free menu and very knowledgeable staff who cared about getting it right. I was impressed. A couple of gluten free beer options as well. Highly recommend!
There was a separate menu that said what could be made gluten free with an adequate amount of options. I had a salad with shrimp and after I ordered, the chef came to my table and explained the numerous precautions they would take to avoid cross contamination. Including changing gloves, cutlery and cutting boards and using a grill dedicated to GF food and alerting his kitchen staff to be extra careful. It was not expected and the first time I have experienced anything like this. I was seriously impressed. Food was great. No problems.
The staff was great! I ordered my food and made the waiter aware of my allergy. He made sure to read my order back to me and then the manager came over to check in about my allergy and noted that I had celiac. He said the kitchen would make all precautions to avoid cross contamination. Very impressed. I felt safe eating and did not get sick.
Even though they have a fairly large gluten sensitive menu, unfortunately I still felt very sick after eating one of their burgers (gluten free bun) with sweet potato fries (gluten free).
There were a good number of GF options none of which were actually listed on their menu. I had to go on their website to find what exactly was gluten free. Although I ordered something that was on the gluten free menu online, I still was extremely ill that night and the entire following day. I am not sure what happened. Maybe cross-contamination but it was not fun whatsoever. The GF ciders were delicious.
I didn't get sick which is the most important thing I look for in a restaurant. Food was fine, service was a little slow.
We stopped in before a Red Sox game recently and I was pleasantly surprised. There aren't a ton of GF choices in the area and I definitely didn't want to attempt to eat inside Fenway, so we gave the Yard House a try. They have a limited "gluten sensitive" menu, but who doesn't? It's the rare restaurant that has a GF menu that is more than one page, so I don't hold their small menu against them. The pork carnitas tacos in a lettuce wrap were really, really good. The lettuce was the freshest I've ever eaten! The rice and beans the tacos came with were good. No fries, but there were a few vegetable choices. The manager stopped over and very nicely explained how they would handle my food and what substitutions they would make. There were also some gluten free beer choices, but I didn't try any. My able-to-eat gluten husband very much enjoyed his beer sampler and Turkey club. Ask for the gluten sensitive menu when you first see the hostess, it is separate from their regular menu. We will definitely eat here next time we go to a Red Sox game!
UPDATE: We went in again last night and I ordered pork carnitas without grilled onions just like the last time. The manager came over and explained that the grilled onions are fried in the same oil as everything else and that on busy nights the pork and onions are pre-mixed. Yikes! He very kindly checked with the chef to see if he would make mine with non-pre mixed pork. Fortunately the chef was able to do this. I explained to the manager that the onions really shouldn't be on the gluten sensitive menu (I mean, why wouldn't the fries be on it too?) and he completely and totally agreed, but said it's a corporate thing. He seemed exasperated at the ridiculousness of it. Just be aware and make sure that if you have Celiac you steer clear of the grilled onions.
They have a GF menu but it is very limited. No GF buns or bread, no dedicated fryer. I got a salad which was pitiful with a tiny piece of chicken on it.
They had a “gluten sensitive” menu and didn’t promise cross-contamination but the waiter said they do work to ensure your meal is as safe as possible if you’re celiac. He pointed me to the menu items that would be the least likely to have cross-contamination nearby in the kitchen. I had the tuna steak and it was really good! Did not get sick.
