As a GF person, having chicken and waffles is not typically in my realm of thoughts. However, after eating here I’ve been thinking about it ever since. This food was so so good. Our server was very educated on the menu and what was and wasn’t GF. I felt well taken care of and didn’t leave there feeling sick at all. (Except for being incredibly full)
So basically I went down to the city to go back to school shopping. We had a lovely morning and thought to go to yardbird for lunch. I had heard so much about this place and their chicken and waffle dish so I decided to get it, they made me feel super safe but on the car ride home I started throwing up and I did get glutened from it. We called to let them know and we never did figure out what happened, I just know that I would not recommend this place if you are super sensitive. My friend with a. Gluten intolerance ate off the same plate and was fine but I am very sensitive.
Fried chicken and waffles. Oh my was it good! My son just ordered the chicken while I added the waffles. You get 4 mini GF waffles.
The hot sauce and bourbon honey were amazing as well.
Staff was very knowledgeable and explained they have a separate fryer. We were also told it would take a little longer as it takes a little longer to cook.
Enjoyed the best gluten free fried chicken I’ve had since being diagnosed with celiac in 2013. But I agree with the other posts about the price….for us it’ll definitely be one of those “splurge” places rather than a frequent “go to” spot. Chicken was excellent, as were the mashed potatoes. Waffles were a bit soggy, but not a deal-breaker. I wanted to try the greens but didn’t feel compelled to add an extra $15 side item to a bill that was already well over $100 for two people. As for the watermelon cubes, it should be a misdemeanor to put basil on any fruit.
The fried chicken is expensive but it’s Vegas and it’s SO worth it! I absolutely loved it! The breading was so delicious! I also had the deviled eggs which were also very good. I did repeatedly ask each person about the dedicated fryer and confirm many times about the flour being gluten free!
I was excited to eat at Yardbird in The Venetian and it did not disappoint. I told the waiter I was celiac and he gladly walked me through the entire menu.
I started with the deviled eggs. They were very tasty.
I ordered the chicken and waffles because it came so highly recommended. It was amazing!! There is a lot of food in one portion, so I shared with my non-celiac husband. He said it was better than any regular fried chicken he has ever had.
The meal comes with bourbon maple syrup and hot honey syrup. The waiter also brought me regular maple syrup because he knows some people with celiac disease are sensitive to bourbon.
We loved it so much that we’ll be going back again before we leave town. I’m going to go with the waiter’s recommendation and have the crème brûlée waffles.
Yardbird was my favorite restaurant in Vegas!
