They have a nutritional menu that you can ask for what has gluten, it’s practically fully gluten free and I love this place cause there’s also vegan options. Super yummy and healthy

I don’t really worry about cross-contamination since 99% of everything here is gluten free
I get the rice bowl with meatballs and teriyaki sauce. Every sauce is gluten free except for 2 of them. The bowl is definitely enough food to fill you up. AND SO YUMMY
I go here about once a week. They are so so good with gluten free food. The meatballs are gluten free now! And so dang good. I’m obsessed with the rice bowl with meatballs and teriyaki sauce. I can have almost all of the toppings. This is my #1 gluten free/dairy free restaurant. I have never gotten sick here and never worried about getting sick here which is such a relief

Everything is gluten free except the meatballs, sandwiches, and noodles. Rice bowls are awesome. I am celiac and never reacted but I would not call in. Go in and ask them to change their gloves - Some are really good about it and do it without being asked but some aren’t.
I had the noodle bowl with the supposedly gluten free teriyaki sauce, steak, and green beans. It was the only thing I had eaten that day, so I know that Zao was the culprit. It tasted pretty good, but was not worth spending my night throwing up, and having a rash on my face for a few days. Don’t go here for gluten free.

Attempted this yesterday. Young lady making a sandwich for a patron in line ahead of us used the spoon from the meat to open the bread bun. We walked out. Cross contact nightmare. Would not recommend eating here for those with celiac. Cross contamination risk is too high. Had to add a star rating to post. One star is too many. ZERO stars from us.

Zao is always tasty and amazing. So many gluten free options and is marked on the menu. I always get the noodle bowl with steam and the sweet soy sauce with green beans corn and carrots and it never disappoints or gets old. I have never gotten sick here and would definitely recommend.

This place is like chipotle for Asian food. You pick out what you want mostly, and the majority of their stuff is gluten free.

Wish I would have tried this place sooner. Great rice bowl, GF teriyaki, fresh.veggies. Yum!
We've been here four times already. My 6 yo and I are celiac, and we both love eating here. Knowledge staff and the food is so good and fresh.
Yes
good food, seem to know what was going on with gf.

I've been impressed with Zao. They do rice bowls that are GF. At this store the personnel know about what is and isn't GF. They change gloves for you. The offer chicken and beef bowls. All the sauces are GF. I like the lemongrass, personally. Most of their toppings are also GF. I've eaten here 5 times without any adverse reactions.
Yes
Tasted great and my meal was entirely gluten free!

Most of their food is GF and they will tell you what is not. There may be some cross contamination but I have never had a problem. Love their bowls

The only thing not GF is the fried onions. If you let the staff know you need GF at this location they take extra precautions.
