Menu options are somewhat limited for the gluten/dairy free combo, but a lot of choices are GF or DF. Nice food at a reasonable price!
I’ve eaten at this location probably 8 times now. I’ve never got sick. Only 1 time did my food come out with pita. I talked to a manager and stressed the importance of having the entire meal prepared again. I saw her discussing the issue with her kitchen staff and then reeducating the food runner who put the pita on my plate. I don’t think the newly hired food runner knew what gluten was. I felt confident eating the food that was brought out the second time. My only complaint about this location is that the beef and salmon are overcooked about 50% of the time.
When visiting Morgantown WV it can be hard to find GF restaurants, particularly a place to get a quick and easy lunch or dinner. Taziki’s offer counter service and quite a few GF options. Mediterranean food can usually be a GF option (except the pitas of course) and Taziki’s has some nice choices including salads and entrees like chicken, beef, and lamb. Make sure to get the roasted potatoes! The menu is marked and the staff was knowledgeable. I really enjoyed having a very casual meal with my wife and would recommend.
Great experience! The food was very good, quality and taste; well worth the slightly higher prices for fresh ingredients! They were very careful with handling my food and I had zero reactions. I got the Greek salad with grilled salmon on top and might just get it again for lunch this week it was so good.
Great! This is a fast casual style place. The items that can be made gluten free are marked on the menu, so make sure to say, "Gluten free, please!" when ordering. I got the Mediterranean salad with no pita chips and added salmon. I knocked a star off because when falafel was first introduced it was advertised as gluten free, but a few months later it is no longer listed that way on the menu. I wonder if they inadvertently poisoned me.
I had the chicken kebabs with lemon chicken soup and Caesar salad (no croutons). It was quite good. The person who took my order immediately knew to remove croutons.
The chicken was very good. The soup is very lemony, to the point where I think maybe someone misread tsp as tbs. The salad dressing for the Caesar is very good.
Edit: I went again and got the grilled beef, Mediterranean salad, and tomato and cucumber salad. It was great!
The staff was knowledgeable, they were very conscientious about the gluten-free order. Anything better than the service was the food. I got the chicken kabob red potato. I got the chicken kabob, Greek salad and red potatoes. All of them were delicious!
UPDATE SUMMER 2024:
My salad ordered for a gluten allergy had croutons in it. Unfortunately I did not see them until halfway through eating when I realized there was something crunchy and found multiple croutons in my salad. Really disappointing.
Always get a salad with no bread or croutons. Never gotten sick and I’m pretty sensitive.
The menu has GF items marked so I ordered some chicken, salad, and potatoes and let them know of my gluten allergy (I'm celiac). They brought me my meal and I started moving the salad around with my fork and there were noodles hidden within the salad. I think they use the same utensils to grab the noodles as they do to grab the salad in the kitchen. I was so glad that I hadn't taken a bite yet! I notified the staff and they apologized and brought me a new plate. I hesitantly moved all the food around on my plate to double and triple check and then ate the meal. I felt okay that evening but had some symptoms of cross contamination show up the next day. I don't think I'd recommend this place. They need to take more precautions.
I have been to Tazikis several times and I have never had any problems. The menu has specific items that are marked gluten free. Just make sure you tell them that you have an allergy so they can put a note on your order. I also ask for a glove change just to be safe. Usually I try and stay away from salads since they use their gloves to grab ingredients which makes the salad highly susceptible to cross contact. But this could be different at other locations or you could ask for fresh ingredients. When my order came out they re confirmed that it was the gluten free meal. I always feel confident eating here, especially since most of the items are naturally gluten free.
Yesterday, May 27, 2024 I stopped in because I have celiac disease and have to eat gluten-free. I've been to a different Taziki's in Texas so I knew that this was a safe place to eat. They have a marked menu.
I ordered the most expensive item on the individual meal menu - the $15.99 + tax chargrilled lamb "build your own feast" without the pita bread.
After paying, I was told that they were going to sub gyro meat because they were out of chargrilled lamb. Gyro meat isn't even on the menu for a plate, but a gyro by itself is $11.99 and I paid $15.99. These are not comparable priced menu items.
The amount of gyro meat was chintzy for what I paid and I felt cheated. They also didn't include any Greek peppers, cucumber or olives on the salad or tzatziki sauce with my meal.
No refund or extra potatoes to make up for the big price discrepancy were offered. I used my water cup to get a single cup of unsweetened tea to-go because I paid for it in the more expensive meal that I paid for but didn't receive.
This location needs more training on what to do if they're out of the most expensive items after the customer has already paid.
Visited May 2024.
The staff were knowledgeable about which foods were safe for me to eat, and every bit was delicious! They were also able to accommodate my dairy-free and vegetarian friends.
I wasn't expecting to feel compelled to write such a good review on a chain, but this location is great. I don't feel super comfortable eating anywhere in this area and the food I've gotten at this tazikis on two occasions was both delicious and I felt safe - the staff was very friendly and answered my many questions about allergens (gluten dairy soy) and I was able to eat well, tasty food and didn't get sick. they were very patient and I was really impressed. this location was waaaaaaayyyy better than one that I've eaten at in knoxville.
The new menu has more gluten free options to include the falafel. Lunch was delicious and safe!
I have eaten here many times (I’ve ordered in the store and online where you can leave comment and check a box for gluten free in the allergy column) and they have always gotten the order correct and I’ve never gotten sick. I have been to multiple Taziki’s locations in the Southeast and I have never had an issue. The food is really great too!
Food was delicious! Gf Items marked. Lovely patio for dining. No headache.
Multiple GF items to choose from, every GF item clearly marked on the menu. Staff was knowledgeable. No issues.
We had a great experience here with no cross contamination. The food is so good. We did not try a sandwich so I am not sure if they have GF options for bread. The pick your own salad, side, and meat is so good with salmon, Greek salad, and potatoes!!! So good and so much flavor!!!!
I went here today knowing they have gf options (celiac) for a dinner meeting. I chose to have gf chicken and rice soup, since I felt it would have the least chance of cross contamination. They notated allergy on my ticket. My plate came out with pita and I sent it back with specific instructions to bring a new plate due to an allergy. I do not believe they cared. Due to the timing of this meeting, I trusted they did everything properly as I had hoped while I carried on with my meeting. After a bit of eating my meal I got violently I’ll before even leaving the restaurant. 100% do not recommend for sensitivity or celiac.
This is the worst place I ever went to. This is the second time I ordered and they just didn't look at the order I asked for shrimp feast for a gluten allergy over the years it's been great but the last two I got a pita on my salad I called the manager and he was so rude and ugly I will never go there again.
Very nice Greek food with plenty of GF options.
Online there is an allergen menu. SUPER NICE. For many allergies not just gluten. And it will tell you what items are available for your allergies.
Loved having some fresh food on the go. Hope it’s a good experience for you too. The only potential cross contamination would have been the pita bread in the same kitchen for me. But not pita bread came in contact with my meal.
