Very busy and find it kinda overwhelming due to the floor plan but still a good place! Love having a dedicated GF menu. Also the chef can do a gluten free chefs choice roll.

Gluten free section in the menu and everyone seemed knowledgeable about celiac and cross contamination. I was told there is a separate area for gluten free prep/cooking. I felt great after eating there.

Very safe, delicious and accommodating. Top notch food and experience too! Allergy flags on food give extra assurance. Had a CC problem once with salad. Not sure if it’s a persistent issue or one off, but there was stray crunchy fried bit in the salad by accident. They don’t have a dedicated fryer.

This is our go to spot for a safe meal. They have GF sushi, soup, and kitchen items. The only problem we’ve encountered was unfortunately a stray crouton in a salad so I can’t recommend their salads. I appreciate the variety of GF menu options and like how they use little wooden allergy flags when the food comes out. We often dine with groups who do eaten gluten containing items and it’s never been a problem. Can be busy but service is always great.

Separate gluten free menu, very knowledgeable about cross contamination. Gluten free menu items are prepared in a dedicated gf space. Best gluten free kitchen entrees and sushi rolls I’ve had! Everything from the gluten free menu comes out marked “gluten free,” very kind staff as well. Also, great drinks!

Got the gluten free beef teriyaki. It was delicious! I told the server I have Celiac's and he told me they take food allergies and food insensitivities very seriously. It even came out with a "gluten free" flag on it and was separate from the food my family was having. Lots of good options. Didn't get sick.

Original review from 2021 listed below— the last few times I have gone, I have felt a little sick afterwards. We went yesterday and when I ordered and asked for an allergy as usual, the waitress said they were not able to do “serious allergies” anymore because they no longer have a separate area. Apparently the cross contamination risk is high as they use the same cutting boards and whatnot… she also said they have to say this now when someone asks about an allergy because a customer got sick a couple weeks ago
Staff is very knowledgeable and there is a separate gf menu. Make sure to specify for takeout to not put the chopstick/napkin roll in because it contains regular wheat soy sauce and can cross contaminate obviously if spilt, but the host at the end adds it to every order without checking for listed allergies. Best way for takeout is to order online and then call to let them know! Separate gf dedicated area.

Waiter did not seem knowledgeable about gluten free procedures. I ordered a simple roll from the gluten-free menu and I did not get sick. I was surprised to see an allergy flag on my receipt while leaving the restaurant. I guess the waiter did understand after all, but I would have ordered more had I felt confident in the ordering interaction.

Delicious and I had several options to choose from on the gluten free menu! I didn’t get sick after and can’t wait to eat here again. It was honestly the best chicken teriyaki I’ve ever had.
Note: Im gluten intolerant, not celiac, so with some GluteGuard, I am typically non-reactive to anything that “should” be gluten free.

Been a long time patron of Mikuni and have continued to dine here even after getting diagnosed with celiac. Giant gluten free menu that even includes teriyaki which can be hard to find! Food comes out marked gluten free and it is always delicious! When we sit at the sushi bar, we see that the chefs take extra precaution for gluten free like dedicated prep board & clean knife. Always feel safe eating here and loveeee the food. Definitely recommend!

Although this restaurant has gluten free items on its menu it is unsafe for those who must be gluten free. I've eaten from their gluten free menu many times over the last 10 years without a problem but in the last month the 2 times I eat here resulted in problems. The items were different each visit but both times the food caused problems. DO NOT eat here if you are looking for safe gluten free food.

I thought it was pretty good!! The options were pretty decent and ranged from bowls to rolls, though the sushi rolls are bit plain especially when you see the gluten rolls. I got the Gluten Free #2, #3, and #4 to share with my partner and I had no negative reaction. We also ordered a Wagyu Steak sashimi that our waiter helped us modify to make gluten free. Very fresh fish though!

Have been eating here since pre-diagnosis. I love it so much and am very happy I am able go continue eating here š In my opinion they handle celiac well. For takeout, gluten free rolls and things are placed in differently coloured containers (lime green vs black, very clearly marked!) and have a toothpick reading either "gluten free" or "allergy". I am the only celiac at my table so usually my orders are mixed of gf/not gf. Multiple times I have ordered "regular" sashimi, rather than the sashimi from the gf menu, for a tablemate, and when I pick it up they have given me gluten free sashimi (not sure of the difference between the 2, i think it's just handling differences!) despite having other gluten-items in the order. That's the kind of attention to detail I appreciate from a restaurant. For dine-in they have the toothpick and a different style of plate. When ordering takeout or dining in they will provide gf soy sauce upon request but I use my own for takeout because the containers tend to leak! They have a fairly good-sized gluten free menu with several options for rolls! My favourite is the gluten free 1 roll. It comes with a delicious sauce, sometimes on the side and sometimes already on the roll. More adventurous eaters may be bored by the options though, most of the gf rolls are on the bland/mild side (cucumber, crab, avocado, etc) Overall definitely a restaurant I recommend !

This place is hands down the best place in the area for GF sushi. They understand celiac disease and prepare everything separately. I’ve never had a reaction eating here. They change their special GF sushi rolls regularly on the menu. I can usually only get nigiri and sashimi at sushi restaurants so it’s super nice to have so many options!
Only two down sides: super expensive, and there’s always an insanely long wait. We usually order takeout online and pick it up.
