They didn't have a lot of options but the pies looked good and safe from Contamination. However, before I got to try it the pie got moldy on me after just 2.5 days.

Staff were very knowledgeable, helpful, and patient to explain their Gluten Free bread, and homemade chips, etc for me. I'm actually asymptomatic celiac, but always state I have a "severe gluten allergy" when asking for assistance. They actually asked me when ordering/checking out, "preference or celiac?" So, I didn't ask for their safety procedures.
I had a turkey Reuben with Cole slaw on it (substituting the Swiss for Havarti). It was fantastic! The meat is thinly sliced, and I prefer thicker slices, but it was so flavorful. They had 6" cherry or apple pies (in boxes), as well as some brownies and stuff. The cherry was delicious! Tart cherries, with a lovely crumble on top. It has roasted almonds in the crumble, and possibly slightly under the topping. Worth the stop!!! We were passing through town during their annual cherry festival.

I ordered the Cherry Chicken Salad both times I visited. It was very good. They also have individual 6" gf cherry or apple crumb pies, gf cowboy cookies and I think they sometimes have cream cheese filled gf brownies.

I’ve been going here for years with no issues, and I do love their food. Unfortunately the last time I went, I got sick (I had a salad that comes with no croutons and a sandwich on gf bread). I assume it was a cross contamination issue. I’ve never had a problem with their pies, so maybe they take more precautions when they can make things in advance than when they’re making things to order. It just makes me nervous to go back

Items are clearly marked GF. The server explained what was celiac-friendly and what was cross contaminated. Sandwiches are cooked on tinfoil to avoid cross contamination. They had 2 g-free soups. The baker is gluten free and had several celiac friendly pastries. I can’t ask for much more really.

Best GF sandwich I’ve ever had (chicken salad on GF bread). The GF apple pie was amazing.
This is a classic spot for Michigan cherry pies and they have gluten free pies available! They also have gf bread for their sandwiches and staff were knowledgeable

We go here often and they are always professional and safe with gluten-free dishes. There is a large selection of sandwiches and some deserts that can be made GF.

This place noted celiac when I mentioned it so that those preparing the food would know. I was told they would also change their gloves. The sandwiches on GF bread we’re fantastic. The cream cheese GF brownie was also great. Very great spot to stop especially if you’re visiting downtown Traverse.

Grand Traverse Pie Co. is a surprising place to find a gluten free (GF) menu. The staff is very educated and asks if your GF order is due to “preference or allergy.” I usually get a GF sandwich with tomato basil soup, which is excellent. I’ve never been contaminated here. That’s after eating here dozens of times. A great place to grab lunch for takeout or dining in.
Yes
So they do have gluten free pies and cookies. I ordered a salad marked as gluten free but it came with a huge hunk of bread on top of it. So if you order a salad say, "No bread." before ordering.
Told them I had celiac and asked about their pesto mayonnaise. I was told it was GF but my reaction says otherwise! The GF bread was soggy and gross. Not even enjoyable.
This place was awesome, it was like a Panera but better! They have GF bread and specifically asked me if I had an allergy or preference so they could make sure to make my sandwich safely. I got the Manitou Club with chips and it was great, very soft gf bread! They also had GF cookies, brownies and cherry pie! We will definitely return!
Got a salad with the GF stamp to go. Drove to my destination (1.5 hours away) where I was going to a festival with no food options. Pulled it out of the bag and saw that it had full croutons and crumbs all over it and a small chunk of soft bread. Called to ask if they were gluten free and was told “no”. 9 hours later, I’m starving. Be sure to tell them to keep the gluten off of it even though it’s labeled GF. 2 stars because they are going to replace it when I can get back there but I will be watching carefully.
Nice place to go for gluten free sandwich. Bread is good and doesn't fall apart.
By no means a dedicated facility, but a nice alternative if you’re not super sensitive. They can make sandwiches with gluten free bread (extra $) and most salads are safe as long as you order with no croutons.
Ate here 6 months ago. It was delicious. Today I bit into what was definitely regular sourdough bread. So be persistent and careful.
I am celiac. Meeting a group and figured I would have just coffee. I was happy to see a selection of packaged GF items, including apple and cherry pies. I had a cream cheese filled brownie, and it was delicious. No reaction.
Disappointed with no GF pancakes or waffles. Eggs, fruit and possibly bacon. Only called in for details and didn’t seem helpful over the phone.
We are there yesterday. My daughter has had no reaction 24 hours later (CD). The staff were so incredibly friendly. The cashiers help us pick out the gluten-free items that we were interested in and then went and spoke directly to the people on the grill and my daughter was able to order a grilled cheese sandwich after having the grill cleaned off. We talked about cross-contamination and they were very careful. They have sandwich options because they offer gluten-free bread and wraps, they also have yummy baked items including pie, muffins and cookies and fruit was available also. This was a really great experience!

Their GF cherry pie is fabulous. Check each location on their gf dessert offerings for each one is different. Salad are good, too.
Gfree pies and other baked food are baked separately from others. Packaged separately too each morning We had a delicious gfree cherry pie!! They also have gfree bread for sandwiches but I don't think I'd eat there for a meal because the immediate prep area can have cross contamination ... staff is kind and careful. But I don't think the lunch menu is for the extremely gluten sensitive person.
When I went in they didn't have any gluten free products available. I got the feeling that they were not a dedicated facility.
They can do any of the sandwiches in a GF wrap. They have a pies, cookies, brownies on hand. If you want more variety, you can order ahead for a different flavor in pies.

I went in and told the person I had Celiac disease and she told me not to eat there.

Based on the other reviews we were determined to try this place. And determined you must be. The order taker at the counter was very unfriendly and emphatically stated that they were not a gluten free facility. Very much a dine at your own risk type of attitude. She couldn't even force a smile or a friendly tone of voice for us. One of our three diners was not gluten free and ordered a combo with a slice of pie. She couldn't be bothered to tell us that she or someone would give the pie to us right there so after placing our order and taking our seats the slice of pie was deposited on the counter unknown to us while we waited for our name to be called to the pick up counter. Luckily I decided to buy one of their gluten free pies (they only make them small sized that I could tell) so I stood in line again with it where I was informed that the stray piece of pie on the counter may be for our party. She gave the impression that it was a pain for her to bother herself with having to inform my ignorant self of that. When my name was called and I went to pick up the food I saw them handling the sandwiches with their gloved hands when they slid them onto the plate so I asked if clean gloves were used. All three people handling the sandwich sliding said yes they had changed their gloves and again informed me they were not a gluten free facility and there was a chance for cross contamination. At this point I was pretty demoralized. But based on the good reviews ate the food anyways and did not get sick so was happy with that. Hard to place the front counter person's attitude. Mom and uncle thought it was dining while Indian (Michigan Native American) and I hate to say it but I had to agree with them. Either that or the culture of the place is very much against gluten free but if so then why offer it in the first place?
Great gluten free apple pie, bread and cookies. Owner is very knowledgeable and willing to help, even made suggestions for us at home.
Gluten free items:
Apple Pie
Cherry pie
Chocolate chip oatmeal cookies
Apple muffin
Chocolate Cake
They may be out of stock towards the end of the day so call and ask or place order ahead of time.
Good selection of gf items. I had a delicious salad & took a yummy gf cherry pie home. Will definitely eat there again!
Nice place. Great gluten free bread, desserts, and sides. Live music for weekday lunch. Good atmosphere. we really enjoyed it and it was the first tmi in a very long time that I could eat a sandwich. I really enjoyed it.
Has GF Apple & Cherry pie. Some GF soups, salads, and GF bread for sandwiches. Also serves sourdough bread which most GF people can eat. Other dessert items are GF cake, cream cheese brownies, and cowboy cookie.
