The smoked meats was good, but I guess we were expecting more from a bbq joint in Texas. The manager was very helpful, and identified all the GF items on the menu for us. We’d eat here again.

Food is celiac friendly. I am used to St. Louis and Kc style bbq, wasn’t a fan of this bbq except for the brisket and it was delicious. Baked beans are chuck wagon style (think peppers instead of bbq sauce and meat) coleslaw tasted store bought. My friend got the ribs and they were terribly dry. 2 sauce choices the “vinegar based” one tastes like ketchup and mustard mixed together. The original has a pepper Smokey back, mixed together they don’t taste too bad. Brisket can stand alone without sauce

This place can be kind of hit or miss but it’s one of the only places I could still eat pretty freely after learning of my celiac disease so I take my chances. Plus my mom always tells me how my grandfather would take her to this exact place for lunch when she was my age so I love the history of it. I don’t suggest this for anyone who isn’t willing to take a chance of getting sick but for the 2.5 years I’ve been eating here, I’ve only been sick maybe twice.

There is no gluten free menu, although if you want to eat there just stay with the barbecued meats, the sauce they use is gluten free but the rest of the items on their menu are not

We ate here about 3 weeks ago, based on the review that said they have a GF menu. They do not. The manager came out and advised us to stay away from the fried foods if we want to avoid gluten, but could not tell us if any wheat based flavorings were used in the food. We ate at our own risk. Could not say whether it bothered us as we'd had other opportunities to be glutened while traveling. Long story short, be cautious.

The man on the phone told me to not risk eating here if my allergy was severe. I have celiac so I skipped it. They were very informative though. Meats are cut with the same knife that cuts buns and bread. Fries share a fryer with breaded items. BBQ sauce is gluten free.

When we walked in I asked for their GF menu. I was told that my server would help me. I think our server was new because she had no clue what I was talking about. Luckily they had a list of GF items at the waitress station. Warning: their mashed potatoes are gf without the gravy. She was very nice and brought me a new plate without the gravy. The food was good.

I eat here regularly for lunch. The staff is great and they seem to understand issues about cross-contamination. They have a list of safe items and the staff seems to get it.

The Friday Special is a Pig-Out Platter: ribs, pulled pork and sausage, with two sides and a drink. Great value and good food.

I mistakenly reviewed the wrong location. I haven't eaten gluten free here, but their West End location is great.

I used to looooove this BBQ place but I dont think its very GF friendly. They do have a GF menu, but I got extremely sick, I think the issue here is cross contamination. Just be weary!! :(

Great service!! Good food!! Lots of gluten free choices!! A new favorite. Their great with gluten free. The food preparer forgot to leave the roll off the plate. With no questions asked and many apologies they got me a completely new plate. Also my hubby who isn't gluten free loved it. Especially the rolls which are fresh out of the oven. Very reasonable prices too.

BEST Texas bar-b-que I've had since I left Texas! They have so many options for gf eaters, and are really knowledgeable. My husband isn't big on bbq, and we eat here often. I'm only sad the fried okra isn't gf, because I haven't had fried okra since I left Texas and miss it dearly. But they're bbq sauce is safe, several meat choices are safe, and all the fixin's! It's a real treat, y'all.

This waa excellent BBQ! The GF menu includes a pulled meats (pork, beef, chicken, turkey) as well as pork ribs. They have a BBQ sauce (which I did't try) and a pork sauce that are GF. The pork sauce is really good...nice flavor and tangy. I think it would work on othe meats as well. I also enjoyed the potato salad and BBQ beans with my pulled pork and ribs. You need to let them know you need GF and tell them no roll. They accidentally added a roll to mine, but were nice about remaking my meal. I look forward to another outting to Sonny Bryan's
