Went here on vacation and felt very safe! I got the spaghetti carbonara (separate water, pan). For an additional cost you can get gf bread, which I believe was actually just a gluten free plain pizza crust, but still good! Separate hatch in the pizza oven as well. Dinner was great and no sick feelings!
We were so impressed with this place!! We got a steak & a pasta to share. Best pasta I’ve had in a long time. The noodles actually tasted like real noodles. The peanut butter blondie was good as well, but I could’ve done without the chocolate all over it. We will be back next time we are in Nashville FOR SURE!!
Quickly accommodated a large table of 12 with no reservation & were able to prepare my plate gf. Menu lists items that are okay for “gluten sensitive” for an up charge. I have celiac and am super sensitive to cross contamination, I was fine. I ordered the Fettuccine Imperial which is grilled chicken, Italian bacon, mushrooms, Parmesan cream sauce. The meal was decent, but I would order something else next time.
We were visiting Nashville, and we liked this place so much we came back a second time! The first time I ordered a pizza with a gluten free crust. Because it wasn’t cauliflower based and how good it tasted, I actually had to check to confirm that it was gluten free! The second time we went, our waitress was very knowledgeable. When I ordered a gluten free pasta dish, she asked “allergy or preference.” The pasta dish may have been one of the best I’ve had, gluten free or not! I honestly could not tell that it was gluten free, and nice that it was actually spaghetti, not rotini like at other places. We also ordered the peanut butter blondie for dessert, and it was very yummy. Would highly recommend!
We came to Nashville for a workshop. I have never been before. This little gem was walking distance from our hotel. First the staff was knowledgeable about my needs. I felt safe knowing I would not get sick. My pasta was very good. We had gluten free pizza crust for our bread. It was not cauliflower which was a nice change. My peanut butter blondie was very good as well. I would put this on my list to come back to again. Try it. My husband is not GF and he enjoyed his meal as well. I must note I am also vegetarian so the dish I chose had bacon which they were happy to leave off my dish.
Pretty good experience here! I felt like they understood celiac safety. Pasta is always done in a separate pot of gf boiling water. The gf pita bread was like a 5/10 but nice that the waitress recommended it. I got a Cesar salad with no croutons (8/10) and they let me get the seasonal cacio e pepe with gf spaghetti (6/10). The main issue is that they were super understaffed and I felt bad for our waitress since it took ages for us to get our bill & pay. However I felt safe and the food was good enough! Would go back.
Our server was very knowledgeable and helped me make the best decision ever with the gluten-free pasta! I loved my food. Wish I would’ve taken a picture of it, but it was very very delicious!
Good options! Many pasta dishes were listed as gluten sensitive on the main menu. And the pizza dough can be ordered as bread too. Pizza dough is not bad, not cauliflower either. Very thin and crispy outside but still alittle chewy. Servers were willing to find answers to questions if they didn't know it. Overall I will look for this restaurant again.
I’m in Nashville once a month in midtown. Always make at least one stop at Amerigos. Never a reaction. Many good options. I usually get the fettuccine Imperial and a plate of gluten free bread. Their GF pizza comes in pre-made crusts in self contained foil pan. Keeps the crust from touching the surfaces. They generally are prepared to handle GF requests. It gets busy - so check ahead of your visit. I usually eat at the bar with no waiting.
This location advertises Gluten Free on signage outside, menu has gluten free items but my daughter had a severe reaction after eating there. What was supposed to be a fun father/daughter date night with dinner and a hockey game was ruined because she started vomiting just a few minutes after arriving at the game. We spoke to the manager and he admitted she was not given the gluten free sauce. He offered to send us gift cards. Not only will we not dine there again, I’m extremely disappointed in their response. If your employees are not trained properly then you shouldn’t advertise you are a gluten free restaurant.
Would be extremely cautious if your server seems new here. Ask more questions than I did. I ordered GF pasta and was brought regular. Had a few bites before the server came running back to table to stop me. I didn’t double check since it was our server who brought the food to the table. My husband and I were shocked at the new server’s lack of attention to special GF order, given the huge sign on the building touting GF items. I feel that marketing to GF patrons as if a gluten free safe haven and then having untrained employees in allergies is not appropriate and wrong. Additionally, we had to call back after I got sick and ask for a refund from the manager, as our meal, much less the wrong dish, were not comped at that time. I understand human error/mistakes are made, but despite the gift card they sent us, I never felt safe going back. I hope others have better, safer experiences!!
The staff was very knowledgeable and I felt completely safe eating here. There’s a separate gluten free menu or there are items marked “gluten sensitive” on their main menu. The GF bread was delicious and the GF carbonara was incredible.
This place was fantastic! I had my own gluten free bread brought to the table. My dinner was made with gluten free pasta, and was delicious and not your average gluten free spaghetti with meat sauce. Had the most delicious dessert! Even my non gf family loved it. Would highly recommend this place to anyone that wants to enjoy eating out again, even with celiac!
I can't say what might have happened but I was SICK with my most violent reaction within an hour of eating. I'm Celiac but not usually super sensitive. We ordered take out b/c of COVID so no double checking to be sure it was GF... Pretty disappointed b/c the pasta carbonara was pretty great!
Had the pasta imperial, it was really yummy. They do have gf bread that they offer as an up charge (gf pizza crust, but it's good). Also, tried the dessert gf pb blondie with Rocky road and ice cream on top. It ws ok, not great (too dried out).
The whole family was extremely satisfied, even picky teenagers. Gluten free bread (was gf pizza crust but surprisingly good). Chicken vesuvio was nothing like we had before but our favorite by far. Kids had shrimp scampi and chicken Alfredo., two thumbs up. Probably our best meal visiting Nashville.
The pastas are gluten free, but the marinara sauces aren’t! Which takes the point away from a gluten free pasta. I am also dairy free and it took a while to find something that accommodated both the allergies. Server was great and food was good though, once I found something.
Waitress was very familiar with gf. Today's special was blackened ahi tuna with spinach mushroom risotto and was amazing. Will go back later for their gf dessert.
This place was a joke. Was so excited as they list 15 gf items. We get there and they inform all red sauces contain gluten. What kind of Italian restaurant doesn't let you have spaghetti. Waitress tried say all red sauces contain flour, which is absurd, even most jarred sauces don't have wheat. What a disappointment.
Food was okay, I ordered the fish special with gluten free pasta and gluten free alfredo sauce. And a friend ordered gluten free chicken alfredo. When they brought out the food I took a big bite of my pasta and noticed my noodles looked much different than my friend's pasta. Asked the waitress to please double check that it was gluten free.. it was not... they apologized and brought me a new order of gluten free pasta. So if you choose to eat here, be very careful and double check everything.
Overall great food! Be careful the menu is a bit misleading ask lots of questions. The marinara has flour in it the Bolognese does not I found this strange Caesar salad was excellent as was Leo's pasta sub in Bolognese otherwise it comes with olive oil a tad bland would go back again
Wonderful! Daughter is GFCF (dairy-Free) & tree nut allergy, they have a great manager Nicole who answered all questions & there are many options! WOW. Daughter had Leo's pasta with fresh veggies & no pancetta & GF marinara - says it is awesome! My hubby & I split GF Caramelized salmon & gf Caesar salad, everything here is delicious & they know food allergies! Highly recommend. Near Vanderbilt University.
GF pasta was awesome. Lots of GF options. Staff seemed knowledgeable.
Great service, great food! Staff is very informed and while they're very clear the kitchen is a shared environment, they take all steps possible to avoid cross contamination. Had the grilled apple salad with chicken and GF bread (their GF pizza crust, toasted and actually quite nice). Really enjoyed it, very laid back atmosphere even though it feels very high class. Plan on eating here again!
