Went with my coworkers for a going away party. Server was very kind, as i told him i had a gluten "allergy." Menu has changed a little to say GS - gluten senstitive. CC can occur but I had waiter kindly to ensure whatever extra steps they could. I got the Carne Asada with corn totrillas and Original Margarita. Everything was delicious and now 20 hours later I have no reaction.
I was very surprised at their limited gf menu. Staff wasn't knowledgeable at all. Azteca used to be one of our favorite restaurants, but they seem to be going downhill in quality and friendliness. Won't be seeking these chain out anymore.
Overall, was pretty good. When asked about gluten free, the waiter wasn’t able to answer my question, but did go ask the kitchen and came back with a definite answer. You do have the options of either corn tortillas or flour tortillas. I had the arroz con pollo and did just fine.
Only one star because 0 is not an option. At least this location is terrible. There are exactly 8 menu items that are marked GF, and if you have other allergies forget about it. Unhelpful waitstaff, they not only didn't seem to know anything about what I was asking but we're super unhelpful when I asked if there were any other menu items that could be prepared gluten free. Would not recommend. I've been to other locations that have been way more helpful and generally Mexican is an easy GF and DF option.
Gluten free menu, but the staff needs more training. Immediately after explaining I needed gluten free and dairy free, waitress asked if I wanted corn or flour tortillas. I was not confident that that she really understood. So far no reaction, so I think they did it right.
My first time at Azteca after being diagnosed with gluten intolerance. I normally go here but hadn't for months. They staff helped out with the menu choices. Their menu has indications for GF meals. They also have s separate GF Menu.
