I made a reservation here two weeks ago ahead of time because I was traveling in from out of town.
They did not send a message letting me know they were no longer dedicated gluten free.
I ended up talking with staff and felt it was no longer a safe dining choice for me with how they handled their pizzas and flour. They told me over the phone that they could NOT guarantee that they could make my meal 100% gluten free.
I decided to eat somewhere else, so I cannot speak to the taste of their food.
Used to be 100% dedicated and it is no longer! On 1/21 they merged with the pizza restaurant next door. They still have gluten free options, including some of the tacos, chips + guac, and gluten free pizza crusts. But I no longer feel very safe eating here
Merged with 00 so no longer dedicated gluten free but everything can be made gluten free and the menu changed to be half pizza half Mexican. Still good but sad it’s not super safe anymore
We’ve been twice—once for dinner and once for brunch. We had multiple items—favorites were the nachos (in a beautiful stack), burrito with mole, and jackfruit tacos. The lemonade is tart and sweet (perfect for a hot day), and if you like spicy I recommend the spicy lemonade! Staff is friendly and attentive.
The food here was FANTASTIC! The whole restaurant is 100% gluten free and vegan. My friend and I shared the empanadas, cauliflower el pastor tacos, nachos, and rice and beans. Flavors in everything were incredible. The nachos and empanadas were definitely my favorite, but the rice and beans were so delicious. The tacos were good, a little acidic and one note, but even still satisfying.
The food was absolutely delicious and was presented to us beautifully. We ordered the nachos, empanadas, and quesadilla, and I couldn’t believe that it was all gluten free and vegan. I would highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area. Overall, a great experience, and I will certainly be back.
Deeeelish! Everything being GF is a huge piece of mind. My friend and I started with the guac and both had the cauliflower enchiladas. The folks working here are also the loveliest people!! They gave great recommendations of what we should order, and told us if we didn’t like it they would take it back and bring us an alternative no questions asked. Can’t wait to come back here!
Bar Verde is everything. They offer some of the most BEAUTIFUL food I’ve ever seen. It’s 100% gluten free and plant based. Everything is so flavorful and imaginative.
Get the nachos and thank me later. They are out of this world amazing, and I can’t believe they’re vegan.
I saw Bar Verde online and decided to give it a try. The restaurant is cute and has a lot of outdoor seating. The menu is 100% gluten free and vegan- but has a lot of nut based products if you have other allergies. I’m not vegan, but the food is so flavorful I think anyone would find it delicious. I ordered the nachos, quesadilla, and churros. Out of those, the mushroom quesadilla was actually my favorite and I would certainly come back to order again- very flavorful and filling. This was the first time I had churros in over 15 years! If you’re in the area, this is a great spot for a full meal or quick bite and a drink. Prices are reasonable.
I came across this place because I need to find somewhere with a quick bite that offered gf options. I didn't know this place was vegan till I sat down and read thru the menu. However, I decided to give it a try. It was delicious, however I had to place another order of the Maitake Tacos because it wasn't filling for me. It's very light on the stomach. The food wasn't greasy nor oily. I wish they had the calories of the menu items. They do charge you 3.3 or 3.8 percent for using a debit or credit card. I didn't care for that. Also, the bathroom had hot air blowing in it. It was very hot in the bathroom. The air-conditioning in the establishment was subpar. My waiter was friendly. I did love the thick napkins though
Celiacs is a new phenomenon for me, and Bar Verde was a blessing, no guesswork, no issues. I had a minor stomach upset last night but I think it was cocktail or liquor related. The food was delicious, we’ll definitely add this to our circulation of great restaurants to return to in our area. Had a great time.
Bar Verde allowed my entire family to enjoy a meal together! Between the celiac disease, dairy allergies and lactose intolerance, we were excited to be able to order food for the entire table that everybody could enjoy without substitutions or hesitations.
Try the cauliflower enchiladas. Nachos are a meal by itself and an order of tostados are enough (2) for kids to share. The cheesecake is amazing for being dairy free!
My husband (celiac) and I (both vegetarian) had dinner here for the first time yesterday and it was it incredible! The whole establishment is both GF and vegan which is rare. The nachos were out of this world and my husband got to have churros for the first time since getting his diagnosis! I can also strongly recommend both the blood orange margarita and the fresh raspberry mojito! Service was fast, our server very funny - top 3 best restaurant experiences I have had in NYC.
100% gf which I always like to see! I will say it was all also vegan which isn’t my favorite but they do a good job with it. I went there for drinks and had chips/Guac both of which were delicious but idk if I’d want to have a dinner here. All gf always makes me feel good though!
Empanadas and mole?!? Rare finds for gluten free. The food was delicious, vibrant and complex. The cocktails are bright and a generous size. The ambiance is warm and inviting. 100% gf and vegan. I went with a friend who has no food restrictions and she was just as amazed as me. I have a lot of respect for the chef. They seem to be a magician.
Top of the list some of the best food I’ve EVER had. Their nachos? Unmatched. Everything is so fresh. I don’t even like mushrooms but can eat their tempura mushroom tacos for the rest of my life. I literally think about this place all the time- put it at top of your list! By the way, as of lately it is 100% gluten free! Didn’t used to be. Ate here several times and didn’t get sick
Excluding brunch (where there is apparently an item with farro), the menu is entirely gluten free. It felt so fantastic to be able to order whatever I wanted on a menu again!!! The food is a bit pricy in my opinion, but it was so delicious. Also, as a beer lover, I appreciated their wide range of gf beers. I was shocked by their wide selection. Such a brilliant experience for me.
