Wanted to celebrate my Mother-In-Law's birthday with our family. I have Celiac's disease (severe Gluten Allergy), so finding a place that everyone will enjoy AND be safe for me to eat is always a problem.
Places that offer both standard meals and gluten sensitive options (they can't say "gluten free" because of possible cross-contamination) are always a crap shoot. My ability to eat out safely is truly in the hands of those that prepare and handle my meal.
Everyone knows that BJ's food and brews are delicious...plus the PIZOOKIES!! but what always sets one location from another is their customer service and this BJ's is the absolute best!!!
Ryan T and his manager (I'm sorry I don't remember his name) truly went above and beyond! From the moment I told Ryan that I had a gluten allergy he was so careful. They made every accommodation they could and when I had a question about something (like sauces) Ryan was quick to find out the answer. When he didn't know the answer, he checked with the manager.
There was even a moment where the manager took the time to visit our table just to make certain my meal was safe to eat. Really above and beyond!
I always feel like a burden to the server/restaurant when going out to eat. Not many places/people understand that "gluten free" isn't always a choice... it's a necessity. PLUS, it's the entire restaurant that is involved! Everyone that handles the food, plate, glasses, silverware is involved to help make sure cross-contamination doesn't ruin the gluten free experience. Even a spatula or a glove that has handled bread/gluten can ruin my time out with my family for the ENTIRE DAY.
Ryan, his manager, and the entire food prep team gave us the best customer service and for that they deserve a standing ovation! Truly, I thank you all for helping my family celebrate my MIL birthday and I look forward to visiting again :)

I’ve been to this restaurant so many different times and places and I always get the gf pizza and Pizzokie. I’ve never gotten sick :)

Ordered gf pizookie and bbq chicken chopped salad online. On both items i put comment that I have a gluten allergy. For salad, needed them not to include onion strings and asked for that. Both items tested safe with Nima sensor and I didn’t get sick. A couple years ago pretty sure I got sick here, but this time verified safe. Next time maybe I’ll try the pizza.

So I always get the same thing the tomato soup no croutons and a baked potato. They were out of baked potatoes so my waiter offered a salad. I made sure to let him know it had to be gluten free, but when it came there were crumbs all over the top and a huge piece of crouton in the salad! I showed him this and he was very apologetic but he never brought out a new salad! Or asked if there was anything else he could do! At other bus when they messed things up they gave us a free gluten free pizookie! Still like bus as a good chain option for gluten free but was very disappointed in this location
I got a Gluten free menu from the manager. when I first got here I asked for the manager and told her I had celiac. I got a stuffed potatoes with grilled chicken and broccoli. I am going to try the GF pizookie.
They provided the same menu as othe BJ's around the country. I ordered the scallops, it said it was completely gluten free. The food came out and the brown rice clearly had orzo or some sort of pasta pieces, when I asked the waiter, they looked at the menu and it stated it was gluten free... To my knowledge orzo isn't gluten free. I believe they mixed up the rice pilaf from the salmon and the brown rice from the scallops. I'm very disappointed.
They did provide us with a gf menu. Our waitress made sure to put allergy alert on our order. The gf cookie dessert was yummy. They even serve it in a different colored baking tin and use a separate ice cream scoop for gf.

Didn't have many options for gluten free but did provide a cheat sheet to help guide you through the menu for many different types of allergies. Would have given 3 stars just for this but the overall food experience wasn't very great.

I can’t speak for anyone else’s experience but…My daughter has celiacs so eating out is a struggle, especially on the road. We picked BJ's bc they have gf buns. But they went above and beyond for my daughter. Our server Deja HANDCUT her French fries and then oven cooked them so there was no cross contamination with the fryers and had their manager cook her onions and mushrooms bc the kitchen was busy and she wanted to make sure it was right. I couldn't have asked for a better server or food for her!

I love their burgers/sandwiches. The server did warn me that the fries are cooked in a shared fryer, but it didn’t make me sick. So I guess they must change their oil out frequently or something.

I really love BJ’s as an easy place to eat out. They’re super knowledgeable about gf things and while I didn’t ask about specific practices, as soon as I said I had celiac’s, the server reassured me. And honestly the food tastes great. I had a burger and the gluten-free pizookie and it was delicious! My ice cream was even served from a brand new package to be extra safe. Didn’t get sick, would definitely come back.

Gluten Sensitive Option items marked on menu (appetizers, salads, entrees). Gluten free buns available for burgers. Gluten free pizza option. I had a Strawberry fields chicken salad with balsamic vinaigrette. It was average good.
The service was horrible, we felt like we were at an invisible table. The large group that arrived well after we ordered received their food before ours. And our 3 orders came out piece meal from the kitchen. We had to ask multiple times for items we ordered, for refills and for our change once we paid the bill.
