Delicious food and prompt service but antipasti salad was not gluten free. The waitress assured me it would be, but cross contamination must have occurred in the kitchen. Was extremely ill for days.

If you are celiac: DO NOT ORDER TAKEOUT. We watched as the person folding the boxes was coated in flour. Only dine in to ensure you are safe.
For dine in, all servers are friendly and will walk you through their disclaimer and precaution. You must stress you have celiac or an allergy for them to ensure proper handling. It comes on foil with a separate cutter. Sometimes it can be rubbery so ask them to cook it a few extra minutes (a server recommended this and she was amazing). There were times my partner saw crumbs or saw it touched my items and they remade it no questions asked. With all that, you still may run the risk of a glutening but they really try their best and it is usually a great experience.

The pizza itself is safe -they wrap it in foil and bake it on the top rack of the oven away from the gluten pizzas. The pizza is absolutely delicious. However, i did feel some pain the last time I ordered from here and I think it was because they placed my GF box on top of the non-GF boxes I got for my family. Since pizza boxes aren’t fully secure and can have crumbs/grease on the outside, it’s important to tell them to package & bag the gluten free food separately. I learned to just be more specific with them especially when they’re busy. I will probably be back. The ranch is not gluten free, btw.

Súper yummy amazing thick crust awesome pizza . Not bad priced $9.99 for cheese , big enough for one hungry person and we couldn’t finish all 4 slices . They make it in separate pan and foil and they give you your own cutting tool . Super friendly . Great find .

Great pizza! I’ve eaten here a few times and have never gotten sick. There is a review complaining the crust is too bread like....really!?! It’s a nice change of pace from the frozen thin cardboard we get everywhere else! Best GF pizza in SE Michigan!

Awesome gluten free menu and pizza!

There’s a separate gluten free menu that lists all of the gluten free toppings. The pizza comes out on foil with a separate pizza cutter. It was delicious. Was tempted to order a second one to go.

The best! GF pizza and beer and never get sick

Delicious....did not get sick! Deep dish gf crust! 1st one I've ever had and it was amazing!
I love their gluten free pizza. Thick pan pizza rather than the thin crust kind I get everywhere else. It’s a drive to get to for me but well worth it. Maybe next time I should get two!!! And I’ve never had a problem eating their gf pizza that’s what really counts.
Unfortunately, we weren’t impressed with the crust. It is tapioca based. we think, and was very doughy. We asked for it to be cooked more and it helped a tiny bit, but it still wouldn’t be pizza we would come back for. The waitress said that a new kitchen manager took away the par baking step. Prior to this the gf pizza was better. We are giving the 2 stars solely for the waitress, who was very knowledgeable.
I really liked their square pizza. I was on a business trip, and I so wanted to take the leftovers home with me...but alas, no fridge in my hotel room. The waitstaff is knowledgeable. They use separate ingredients for the pizza and cook it on it's own pan/foil -- so it doesn't touch the inside of the oven. They had a nice Chianti also...really nice, cheap meal.

Good gf pizza. It's thick and there are many GF toppings. Redbridge and Angry Orchard, too. They know what they are doing gluten-wise.

Have a GF menu. I got a GF pizza and was not impressed. I've heard they had great GF pizza so maybe mine was just an exception but it wasn't at all crispy on the bottom, sort of soggy and left my stomach feeling a bit unsettled. It's worth a try if you want pizza as most reviews rave. I prefer the crust to be a bit more done. Was served on a tray covered in foil and with my own pizza cutter.
Awesome. Best gluten free crust I have ever had. Highly recommend.

Oh this was the best GF crust I've EVER had!!!! no cross contamination, very fresh ingredients. ....
Fantastic gf pizza. I love places where I don't feel like I am getting ripped off for having to be gluten free.

Got "glutened" eating the gluten free pizza and it wasn't even that good. I recommend Renee's Gourmet pizza in Southfield and Troy. Best gluten free pizza ever and the whole menu is gluten free!!
The best GF pizza in the metro area!! (And we have tried almost all of them.) The crust is not the cardboard thin kind usually found with GF pizza. There is actual "depth" to it. They also offer GF "Specialty" pizzas. We have never had a problem with cross-contamination here either. We drive in from Taylor to get their pizza.

Turns out that while they have dairy free cheese, the gluten free pizza crust has dairy in it. Bummer

Fantastic gluten free pizza. Great antipasto salad. The whole family enjoys dining at Buddy's.
MY FAVORITE PIZZA!! Not flat as a pancake as many others. Is actual dough! YUMM! They are small, four to six pieces, but well worth it! We go there anytime we're in town!

Servers are super accommodating to your gluten free needs. The pizzas are delicious!

Didn't know the area so went with other user's recommendation. GF Pizza was small and expensive but delicious. Had the bacon/cheese fries and was warned that it is not a dedicated fryer. Taking my chances because they are sooo good. Only pizza is GF. Friendly staff, bathroom decent and family friendly.

Awesome GF pizza, only down is was waitstaff was not very friendly, our waitress had an attitude when I ordered the GF pizza and asked if I really had to have GF!
Yes
Great pizza. We got one pizza about the size of most GF pizza's for 13 dollars while on vacation. We could have possibly got cheaper if we went with the number of toppings option instead of getting their specialty spinach one with sausage added to it.
Yes
I believe that they do have great GF pizza...how ever the single "$" is not accurate. They should be $$ or $$$ they are NOT cheap. That is why I can only give them 2 stars. I can only take my family after I've save for a few weeks:-(
Oh-so-delicious soft crust pizza!! Comes in it's own foil-lined tray. Safe :) Always amazing... We eat there and I have to order an extra to take home! Wish I lived closer, but any time we pass through Detroit area, Buddy's is a Must! Wish they had a GF beer to enjoy with it!

Awesome GF pizza!! Safe too!

Best gluten free pizza I've ever had!
Best gluten free pizza I have had in Michigan!
My absolute favorite gluten free Detroit pizza! It’s baked in tinfoil to prevent cross contamination and I have never felt sick after multiple visits. Servers are very kind as well!

AMAZING! This place was so good, knowledgeable and very aware of celiac and precautions. I will 100% visit this place again, and again, and again. It’s not thin crust pizza either, it is Detroit style gluten free. And the pizza is the only gluten free option on the menu.

Buddy’s was awesome! Staff were friendly & totally understood my needs. I was able to get the original Detroiter gluten free & had no issues. I feel so grateful that I could actually participate in a classic tradition despite having Celiac. Absolutely delicious & worth the trip!

Have always had a great experience here. We order it to go or for delivery. They take extra precautions for gluten free including putting the pizza on foil to prevent cross contamination.

The hostess and waiter were not knowledgeable about gluten free precautions but they gladly checked with the kitchen staff. Ordered a gluten free pizza and it came out on tinfoil with its own pizza cutter to limit cross contamination. Very reactive celiac and did not react at all. Pizza was good too. Would return.
