GF buns and allegedly a separate fryer for fries. Good burger place.
So many GF options. GF buns and they have separate fryers! My celiac daughter was in heaven with all the choices and she didn’t get sick! The staff was super knowledgeable and her food came out on separate trays by different staff so we knew it was separate in the kitchen with a GF sticker on her tray!
Very gluten free friendly!! Even a dedicated fryer for French fries! If you don't like salt, ask for unseasoned.....very salty.
This is my fave restaurant to eat because I feel so safe and the food is amazing. The bun is absolutely perfect, not giant and bulky like other gf buns. The fries are exceptional and my friends order gf fries bc they taste better than the regular ones. 5 stars is not enough. The staff is also the nicest ever, love Burger 21!
We tried this place because it said they had a dedicated frier. Burgers are very good and the bun seemed like a regular bun (though you can see it's different). They always bring the food out separately to avoid contamination and it's clearly marked gluten free. The fries are good and can get gluten free shakes.
This is more of a fast food type restaurant. The young man taking my order was very sweet and knowledgeable about the gluten free options and alterations to menu items. He double checked that the aioli on my sandwich was GF. They have a dedicated fryer to GF fries and sweet potato fries (and the chicken tenders, I’m assuming). My boyfriend and I were sharing fries, and they made sure that I knew that the Thai Style ketchup that he ordered was NOT gluten free. They also put stickers on GF trays. We will definitely be back.
We've been ordering from here for about 4 years, and Burger21 has been very consistent in food quality and lack of adverse effects re: Celiac. We've tried a few of the different burgers available in gluten-free (GF), but mostly stick with the Bacon Cheesy on GF bun (good!) and GF fries. Whenever special comments are available on item(s) or the whole order when ordering online, I always note that there's a gluten "allergy" and to please try to avoid cross-contamination when preparing. Recommended. Edit: We do takeout/delivery 99% of the time. We've only dined in once.
We eat here regularly. My husband who is not GF loves this place too! They take great care to serve safe food. It’s great to have a bun, French fries and milkshake like a “normal” meal, not a bun that falls apart as soon as you bite into it as is the case with a lot of GF buns. Their salads look great but I always get burger & fries because they are the best around, not just for GF but everybody loves them!
I've been to Burger 21 twice, once a few weeks ago and before that, a few years ago. Both times were excellent experiences. Being able to get safe fries with a gluten free burger is huge for we celiacs!
Burger 21 is a casual place where you order at the counter and then they bring you your food. Highly recommended!
My daughter said let's go to burger 21 and I was like ok I will just get a salad. But... actually I found they had gluten free buns and not only were they good but delicious!!!
We come here often- my son has celiac and finding this place was like finding gold!
What a great find! I stumbled upon Burger 21 when I saw a Facebook post that they were donating 10% of their sales that day to the Charlotte Celiac Connection. I had an awesome Philly Burger, fries, and a peanut butter chocolate shake - all gluten free and so tasty. The bun was excellent; not small or crumbly, in fact it seemed like a normal bun! They get them from a local bakery. Needless to say, we went back a week later!
This was hands down the best GF place we have ever eaten. The staff was very knowledgeable. There is a separate prep area and designated fryer. The food was excellent also. Absolutely no ill-effects after eating here. Waiting for more of these franchises to open!
Tasty burgers, great GF buns, dedicated frier for yummy fries. Fun variety of GF sauces for dipping in. Separate GF menu.
I ordered the grilled chicken strips with sides of sweet potato and french fries. The chicken was tender and tasty. The fries were thin and crispy. Fortunately, I didn’t have any allergic reactions(which tends to happen when separate fryers aren’t used). All in all, great experience. Win in my book!
GF marked on the menu, will make fries in separate, dedicated fryer if you request GF. They have lots of yummy house-made sauces to dip your fries in, the GF ones are marked (some are not GF but most are). The bun itself was dry, your typical gf standard bun (nothing special) but adding some of the house made ranch made a big difference. The bun wasn’t warmed or toasted, so that’s a big part of it. But overall still yummy, the patty was good quality and flavorful. I’d eat here again.
