We were dropping our son off for college orientation and wanted a quick bite. He is a celiac so always tough to find a quick place to eat. He loved his burger; great GF bun; dedicated fryer. Note — the menu doesn’t specify that fries are GF but when asked why the server said it was because some fries are seasoned with gluten containing stuff. Just tell them you need GF fries. They were so good.
Great experience overall. The owner and our waiter explained that they take dietary restrictions very seriously, have contamination protocols, a dedicated fryer etc. Not often that I've felt that safe eating out. Salad, burger, and fries were excellent in a comfortable atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Best GF bun I have ever had. Unsure if they make in house or have it brought in but I highly recommend.
Had lunch here and almost left since the menu seemed to only have the vegetarian burgers, tator tots and a few others items marked as GF. After talking with our server, she assured us the burgers were GF with a GF bun and the fries were also GF and fried in a separate fryer. We had turkey burgers and plain fries and everything was delicious and mostly importantly my daughter who is a super sensitive Celiac didn’t get sick.
Had dinner here while touring Cal Poly with my son. I would definitely go back. The owner and waiter were both knowledgeable about celiac and took time to explain menu options to me. They have a separate fryer for GF vs nonGF items. I had a grilled cheese with veggies and fries. My son had a burger and said it was delicious. There are many GF options!
Great burger and it felt very safe. Waitress was helpful in discussing options. Nice crispy tater tots!
The most delicious burger and chicken nuggets I’ve had in a long time! The gf bun was so soft even the server said it’s better than their regular brioche bun! The gf chicken nuggets were a hit with our kids. The fries are fried in a gluten free fried. The server even asked if we ordered gf for an allergy or a preference and said if it’s an allergy he makes sure to note it so they can take extra precautions to not cross contaminate. My daughter liked her food so much she asked for another meal to bring home!
I got to feel normal for a change! This was the first time I've had a real cheeseburger since going gluten-free. Also enjoyed the tater tots and chicken nuggets, both cooked in a gluten-free fryer.
Our waitress was new, but was patient with me and went to the back to verify their precautions and procedures as needed. The food tasted great and I didn't get sick.
The storefront is almost entirely windows, and these open up when the weather permits. That makes it a safer option from a covid standpoint.
We used DoorDash to have our food brought to us. The DoorDash app wouldn't let us make comments so I called the restaurant. They pulled out the order and made sure the GF chicken nuggets and fries were cooked in the GF fryer. My daughter said the nuggets were amazing and the french fries awesome.
I am a sad celiac and on a trip so I take a few more risks when I am traveling than at home. I felt pretty safe given the risk of eating in a restaurant that isn’t 100 percent gluten free. They have a dedicated fryer for French fries, tater tots and gluten chicken fingers for kids. I told them I couldn’t have a gluten free bun that was on the same surface as a regular bun and asked if they could just not heat it up and give to me on the side. They said they would clean the surface w and just to give them a little extra time. I am pretty happy. Will report back if any problems follow.
I was told that everything gluten free (all the meat and gf buns) was grilled in a separate area than the buns with gluten. They also had two separate fryers so I was able to request sweet potato fries made in the gf fryer. My sweet potato fries and my ostrich burger with goat cheese, veggies, and lettuce wrap both test gf with my Nima. I am very sensitive, and I didn’t have any symptoms. The food was also really good!
The menu identifies gluten-free items as well as dairy free, vegan and vegetarian. The server said fries and sweet potato fries can be prepared gluten-free in a dedicated fryer. They also have gluten-free bread and desserts. I ordered the village grilled chicken sandwich with skinny makings (except the cheese) and fries. The food was delicious! I’m newly diagnosed with celiac disease and this was my first successful dining out experience.
Had a really good boar burger with ‘the Skinny’ toppings on GF bun with tater tots listed as GF. The other in my party enjoyed their burger and slaw not GF. Menu lists options. GF buns can be substituted for bread or bun in sandwiches and burgers. Several sides are GF. Server was totally familiar with requests for GF. She said many people come for various allergies. UPDATE T+ 24hrs: all systems nominal.
I had a grilled chicken sandwich on a delicious gluten-free bun and sweet potato tater tot's in their separate fryer. Staff seem knowledgeable and I did not get sick. The sweet potato tater tot's were a little too mushy for me but delicious taste. Lots of options and other members of my party loved the elk burger and regular beef burger.
I wanted to love this place. They advertise gluten free and allergy options and a dedicated fryer. The server sounds knowledgeable and assures you it’s safe for celiac and they take precautions in the kitchen. Sadly it doesn’t live up to these claims. I got a Buffalo burger in a lettuce wrap and sweet potato fries. I was very sick an hour later. Be wary if you’re celiac.
Burger was super bland. No seasoning at all. They forgot my grilled onions which are $1.95 extra for a very small amount. Gluten free bun was typical awful bun (not this restaurant’s fault). However lettuce wrap was another $1.95 up charge. For lettuce???!! Only offered American cheese. No cheddar. My husband said his milkshake tasted like medicine. I was expecting a high end experience for “organic” and left $60 lighter in the wallet with a “this was a once & done” sub par effort on the whole experience. They also had a real estate lock box on their front door, so wondering if they are moving or going out of business??
I had a Veggie Burger on Gluten free bun and a few tator tots and seasoned fries. Definitely oily including the veggie patty but tasted good. My stomach started hurting and was not okay for a few days after eating this meal. Not sure if it was cross contamination but I am not willing to have the same meal again. Salad maybe. Hope your experience is better than mine.
Waiter was knowledgeable about celiac. He said fries are gf, fried in a separate fryer. We had heard onion rings are gf but server confirmed fried pickles, fried zucchini and onion rings are not gf. Our celiac family member ordered the gf fried chicken sandwich on gf bun, and gf flourless chocolate cake. Both were excellent. There were not enough staff members working so we did have to wait a bit to pay. Turkey burger was dry so I would likely not order that again.
