I eat there at least once a week. They are EXTREMELY careful with gluten free orders (always cooked in separate area of kitchen and served on a square plate so servers can see the difference. Never had an issue. I have celiac and I am very sensitive.

Went to an event they catered a few years ago. The staff was so wonderful! They made me feel like a rock star. In addition to the food I requested on the phone, they added a few other g-f samplings. Eating in their restaurant is just as safe. Delicious, too.

Yummy! Bacon cheeseburger on huge gf bun! Rosemary parmesean French fries. Delicious!
This was from the gluten free menu under Paleo meals. It's called the knife and fork burger. On a bed of lettuce with brusetta seasoned tomatoes, avocado and a side of sweet potato salad. Yum

I had previously reviewed this location and given it five stars based on multiple visits all with great food and service as well as super safe for celiacs. Unfortunately my last visit was a totally different experience. When we ordered appetizers the server told me that I could eat the spring rolls even though they would not be on a square plate because almost everything the restaurant makes is naturally gluten free. I told the server that the spring rolls are not gluten free. Luckily I knew that but another patron might not have known. The three of us ordered the haddock with the crab topping. Mine was ordered gluten free and served to me on a square plate by the server. All the meals looked the same although the other two were not gluten free and the topping was not gluten free. I do not know if the wrong fish may have been put on my plate or if mine was just not made gluten free. I also had calamari and pumpkin brûlée both of which I was told are gluten free no matter who orders it. Based on how sick I got I don't believe it was a case of cross contamination. I feel like I was served gluten. I did talk to a couple Managers last week but they were not able to determine what happened. I know we always take a chance when we go out to eat but I had always considered this place to be my safe place. It was my favorite restaurant and we would drive an hour so I could eat here. I have not eaten out since and right now I am reluctant to do so. This is a restaurant that I know does take allergies seriously but they definitely had an off night the night I visited.

Separate GF menu offering paleo and vegan options! Super accommodating with allergies and are sure to avoid any cross contamination by having designated plates to signify allergy as well as the manager bringing the food out and reiterating the allergy. 4 stars bc alcoholic drinks are hit or miss. Sometimes outstanding and then just flat out poorly made😱 but food is a definite go! Tacos, Fries, Fried calamari, Beet and goat cheese salad are my go toos😋

We had the short ribs with fries and the ribeye steak. Plan to get the GF fish tacos next time. The GF and DF rosemary focaccia was worth the trip just by itself. I had a great experience at Burton's. Within moments of sitting down the manager was at our table. The owner of the chain has celiac disease and one of the other executives has a shrimp allergy. Therefore, custom eaters are a focus of the chain. They are well versed in cross-contact and will answer any of your questions, so you can decide if you feel comfortable eating there. Additionally, there is a gluten sensitive menu that you can ask for when you walk in. The restaurant also has a dedicated fryer. The french fries were one of my favorite parts of the meal! At the table next to us, we overheard the ladies surprised to find out that their dessert (using GF flours and all) was gluten free. While there is gluten in the kitchen, they do prepare many menu items that would naturally have gluten without it, so there are many options for those with celiac disease. I would definitely dine here again. Full Review: http://gflife247.com/2014/11/28/burtons-grill/

Great options for GF. Anything on kids menu can be made GF too even though website doesn’t show that. GF dinners come out on different plates to avoid mix-ups. While waiting for our food, the waiter brought out bread and butter, and a separate plate with a gluten free role for me. Even brought seconds when we finished the plates. I ate a fish sandwich with fries and had a crab cake on the side- both were delicious. Had a great experience at Burton’s! They have an actual GF menu with meals other than salad on it. For an app my (non GF) family and I shared the buffalo chicken dip, and it was great. After apps they actually brought out GF focaccia with a pesto dipping oil. A delicious surprise! For my main meal I got the chicken carbonara which was also great and a good size portion. I practically live at this place. This is the only restaurant I trust with all of my dietary restrictions (Celiac, dairy-free, lactose-free, grain-free, garlic/onion-free, etc). They are PHENOMENAL at paying close attention and getting it straight everytime. I've (sadly) had to become very fussy about where I'll eat, and these guys are the only ones I trust. I feel terrible updating my review but I have now been glutened three out of the nine times I have eaten there since they opened in the spring (and I was away all summer). The first time I blamed it on my bringing in a gluten free cake to celebrate a birthday and not sure if there was cross contamination when they took it to the kitchen. The other two times I only ate their food. All three times were on a Saturday night (two times in November). Of all my visits, I have only had one successful Saturday night. My last visit the General Manager oversaw some of my food preparations and I know he really wanted the visit to go well as did I. The body knows when it’s been glutened so as much as I would like to think it was something else, it wasn’t. At this point I believe the Manager thinks I must have other issues which is causing the problems. The last week it happened I had eaten out at two other restaurants and a friend’s house with no ill effects. I just feel so bad as I considered Burton’s to be my safe place and I always recommended it to others. ORIGINAL REVIEW I have eaten here several times since they opened. It is so comforting to know how seriously they take gluten free and that they have good protocol to provide a safe meal. The food is excellent. They have a great gluten free focaccia with herb butter to start off the meal. I love the calamari and had a delicious lobster risotto. Their chicken risotto is also quite good as are their burgers and steaks. Everything is good and if you really want to indulge the seven layer chocolate cake is worth the calories. I am so happy they have this new location. Now if I could only get them to expand to the Cape (Falmouth please).

I love all the other Burton's locations but had an awful experience here. My sandwich arrived on a square plate, brought out by my server (not the manager as is typical at other locations). The bread looked different so I asked, are you sure this is gluten free? She looked down at my food and responded confidently, yep, gluten free! I said, I've ordered this a bunch of times and it's never looked like this, do you mind double checking? So she did, turns out it was not gluten free! Had I never been to Burton's before I would have eaten it. But that's not where the horror story ends. They brought me out a new sandwich and I asked if they made a completely new sandwich or if they moved the items from the old to the new bread and they assured me it was a new sandwich. Well the chicken was cold and I was SO SICK the days following that I am confident it was not a new sandwich. Throughout all of this, I didn't see a manager until the end of the meal (he brought out a third sandwich because the chicken was cold in the second but the damage was already done at this point). Very disappointed because Burton's is a chain I have otherwise always been comfortable eating at.
