I eat at Carvel a ton. I always get soft serve and ask for sprinkles from the original container to avoid any contamination. I have never been sick that way and I'm usually very reactive to gluten

I usually get soft serve in a cup. If asked, they can give you separate toppings from the original tub to avoid cross contact. They also sell pre-made GF cakes. You can also order a cake with sprinkles or hot fudge in the middle, instead of crunchies.

Server was able to point out which ice cream, both soft serve and hard pack, were GF. Changed gloves when preparing my chocolate/vanilla twist cup. Felt did a good job. A little spendy, but tasty.

Would not recommend. The staff had no allergen knowledge and when they finally got me a diagram that marked allergens, it had none of the flavors that were actually in the shop. I don't blame the staff but I do blame the management for not training them properly! I used to be able to easily look up ingredients of specific flavors on the Carvel website, but they've since changed it and I wasn't able to find anything. The only plus was that they happened to have one gluten free ice cream cake pre made in the store which had been prepped carefully. Great ice cream but it's a shame they can't cater to allergens very well :(
