A little pricey but fantastic gluten free options and complimentary gluten free appetizer bread!
A gluten free menu with quite a few things in each category.
They had a separate GF menu with a variety of options. Instead of a normal bread and butter tasting, they provided a GF bun with butter. I felt it was so-so but chewy. For my appetizer I had the Viognier wine and shaved Brussel sprout salad. Both were excellent. For my main entree I ordered the roasted butternut squash with brown butter cream sauce from the pasta section. It was lite and full of flavor. For dessert I ordered the chocolate and flight of wine pairing. The chocolates were superb, rich, and dense. We picked the wines (blueberry, cranberry & passion fruit). My favorite was the passion fruit and blueberry. The staff was very accommodating and understanding. No issues at all. I plan to go back.
I got ahi tuna and a chocolate covered strawberry for take out while on travel for work. So good and I didn't get sick at all.. I have celiac disease and react badly to cross contamination

Excellent food. Extensive GF menu. Delicious appetizers (Mexican shrimp, Thai spring rolls, salads). Tasty mains (ahi tuna, risotto to die for, great burgers). Amazing GF bread. They are very knowledgeable about cross contamination. Number or great desserts to choose from. Highly recommended.
I love this place! The food is great, they're very knowledgeable of gluten allergy. I eat there allot and never once gotten sick. Separate gluten free menu , that also includes dessert.
Waiter very helpful and knowledgeable! I'm celiac and my friend had multiple allergens to avoid. We were happily accommodated.
This is my go to place for gluten free! Besides having great food the service is excellent. I eat there at least once a week and their gluten free bun/roll is better than any other!
Cooper's Hawk has a separate, well-produced gluten-free menu that looks similar to their regular menu. There are so many choices and the servers are so well informed about gluten-free diets and are so helpful. So far, the best menu, options, and service in our new gluten-free experience.
Good! So many choices and options! The bread is kind of bland that they give you as a starter.
Food was excellent, service experience was poor to downright rude (example: when being seated we asked for a larger table to accommodate our party, which we had made reservations for months in advance. Instead of saying "sure, but you may need to wait a few more minutes for a table" the retort was snarky, "well there was no mention of a table request when you made your reservation, this is where we seat you". We had never dined there before, how do we know you take a 4-top and add extra chairs and squish everyone in? We then had to argue the point and finally were moved to another table). I would return for takeout only. They do have an extensive GF menu, and it tastes great. If you or someone in your party is vegetarian, you're almost out of luck. (Most items are made with chicken stock or other meat-related ingredient so you can't just omit the meat item in the dish). In the future our group will return to Season's 52 for our annually work holiday dinner, which also has great food and MUCH better service.
My favorite for GF options. I love the Parmesan crusted chicken and the mashed potatoes are so good. For an appetizer the lettuce wraps with cashew sauce were excellent. It's the one restaurant I can go to and order off a real GF dedicated menu, order a delicious meal, and not feel different being GF. I've eaten there many times and have had no problems.
They have a very extensive gluten-free menu and even bake fresh gluten-free bread for the table that are complimentary. Have never had any issues here and it has become a favorite.

I've safely eaten at this chain several times. The staff has always seemed well trained, and it's nice to have GF bread before the meal.

The food was absolutely amazing. They had an extensive gluten free menu including home made bread that can be brought before meal like the regular bread one would get at a restaurant. Burgers, chicken Parmesan, I could go on and on. I loved it and had zero problems
I got a gf burger and it did not disappoint. They also have a warm, fresh bun that comes before your meal. so it's like eating at outback and getting bread but you don't have to stare at it and wish you can have it.

Newly opened June 2014, this location. Has a GF menu, vast array of wines, wait staff educated on food sensitivites. Price range $30 and under. My food was quite tasty. Did not have room for dessert.

I LOVE this place! Their gluten free menu has multiple choices and as someone who has multiple food allergies I have not any problems with getting questions answered and making substitutions. The gluten free chocolate cake is indulgent! Can’t go wrong here!!
You will not get sick here. They have a separate gf menu and are VERY knowledgable. One of the most knowledgable places ive ever ate at and i was dxed with celiac 15 years ago. It is pricey for the meals for sure and at its core a pretentious wine tasting place. I went there for my bday when i noticed they had a gf flourless choclate cake with whip cream, berries and a rasberry sauce. I would NOT order any entrees from here. Its a wine tasting place so theyre desserts and appetizers are what most people order with wine and not entrees. On a good note, the entrees ate the pricey thing. The appetizers and desserts are more like $$ than $$$. For an appetizer i ordered the mexican drunken shrimp. The entrees arent worth the money in terms of taste, but the appetizers and desserts were beyond incredible. Highly highly recommend this place for its safety, but also the taste of the food. Next time though im only doing the appetizers and desserts. Both of which have plenty of options for someone with celiac.
The server told us that the owners kids have celiac. They were very knowledgeable.
I am hyper sensitive to gluten, I have eaten here 4 times and have had no issues. They have a separate gluten free menu and they avoid cross contamination. Each visit we ate in the bar area. The wait staff was attentive and friendly, and appeared knowledgeable about gluten allergies and cross contamination and were eager to double check with the chefs to answer my questions. The chicken madeira is delicious.
I thoroughly enjoyed eating at Coopers Hawk in Brookfield last night! I had a FULL menu to choose from, including a few app choices, many main dishes, and a few dessert options...not to mention the ability to eat bread at the same time as my non-gf wife! Food and wine were great.
Staff was very knowledgeable. They gave a huge GF menu. I've been there twice with no side effects. Ice had: hummus w/veggies, tai lettuce wraps, Greek shrimp chopped salad, shrimp and scallop risotto, and crustless lemon ice wine cheese cake. Was there last night and the even brought me a small loaf of GF bread. Outstanding place. Wine is awesome also.
My daughter has celiac. Staff is very attentive and careful, the food is amazing and there are tons of gluten free choices.
I've been here a few times and service and food is very inconsistent. My meal tonight wasn't good. Along with gluten, I'm having issues with egg and dairy which I kept informing the waiter. Although the waiter tried to help, he kept running back to talk to the chef about the ingredients. It would have been better to have the chef or manager come speak with me. Gluten free bread & butter was brought out, which I could not have. My shaved Brussels sprout salad came out with Parmesan cheese, which I had to remove the cheese, and the dressing was placed on the side, which I was informed at serving that I could not have. I would not have chosen a raw and shaved Brussels sprouts if communicated to me in advance. My filet mignon was average... not good quality for price. The kale side was drenched and overcooked...terrible. They forgot the roasted broccoli and had to have kitchen prepare after we were all served. I didn't realize until it was too late, they put butter on the broccoli! Don't go here. Very noisy, always cold and very inconsistent. (Party of four, no desserts, 2 1/2 hours...very slow service..waiter could never be found).
I let server know I have allergies to gluten and soy. He took our order. He came back a couple of minutes later to take it again. He did not want to mess up. Ordered a Caesar salad no croutons. I ordered a filet mignon with mashed potatoes. My salad came out with croutons. After I pointed this out they brought me another one. My entre came out before I was done my salad. Huge pet peeve of mine. My steak came out with fried and battered onions on top. This too was not gluten free. They took my meal back and brought another one. I asked to speak to the manager. She came over and told me they take allergies very seriously. I told her both my salad and entre came out wrong so it didn’t seem to be the case. They did comp most of our meals. But no, I will never go back.
I told my waiter that I was Celiac and he knew my requirements immediately. However, I was brought brioche that was accompanied by a knife that was dirty. The knife had crumbs and grease stains on it. I told the waiter why it was important that I not eat bread cut with the same knife. He skirted the issue and then returned to the kitchen. The issue went unaddressed, which demonstrated to me that a real awareness of the core issues was not there. I love this restaurant and have been a wine club Member for many years. I am sorely disappointed.
Excellent gluten free menu. However, server knowledge is very poor. They asked if my one year old had an allergy or preference. The first time we were there they accidentally served her wheat pasta. We tried again, hoping it was a fluke, and they served her cross contaminated fries. Scary.
I ordered the risotto and short ribs. I tested with my Nima sensor, it said gluten found. I showed my server, who showed the manager. They brought me a new meal, which tested safe. The server was very willing to answer questions & ask the chef. I truly believe it was a kitchen mistake. I even called ahead and they seemed very knowledgeable. I would go back again, only with my Nima sensor.
So so so happy to have found out this very nice place that take gluten free seriously! They actually had GF items in the kids menu for my celiac 3 year old! I called ahead and talked to kitchen manager and was told they do ALL GF in separate pans ,etc. Waitress confirmed same when we got there. they even had gluten free bread thay wasn't a hard for a 3 year old to eat Udi roll! So Happy!
This was my third time eating here md I’ve had a great experience every time. There are lots of choices on the GF menu from entrees, pastas, burgers and salads and the wine is quite good as well. I’m really glad this restaurant is another great GF option in Reston
Extensive gluten free menu. Large, crowded restaurant on Thanksgiving day. I typically avoid restaurants during busy times. The server assured me of their policies to avoid cross contact. GF bread brought out prior to meal separately from regular breaf for others at my table. Enjoyed the chicken lettuce wrap appetizer and chicken madeira entree with potatoes and asparagus. Everything was delicious and good sized portions. I am a highly sensitive celiac and did not experience any symptoms.
My girlfriend and I both have Celiac disease. She has eaten here on multiple occasions and has never had a problem. I ate here tonight and the food was amazing. We made a reservation and let the kitchen know before we arrived that allergy prep was necessary and everyone knew when we sat down that this was the situation. They have a gluten free menu. I am impressed with their execution. For me this place knows how to address Celiac preparation. You should try it for yourself. I fully recommend the Mexican Drunken Shrimp.
My family and I recently dined with them for my birthday, my mother, brother and myself all have celiac along with other autoimmune issues. Every single one of us got sick, having had different entrees and not touching the bread before the meal. I had the vegan gluten free option which contains hummus and cooked vegetables with rice, they originally brought it out with pita on the plate and took it back. I didn't complain while there but I think other celiacs should be aware that this kitchen did not do a good job catering to celiac needs.
huge gluten free menu with lots of desert choices. they can bring delicious and hot GF bread to the table when asked. The kids menu has lots of gluten free choices as well - burgers with buns, Mac and cheese, ....the food was great. The servers were knowledgeable about allergies
Love this place! Excellent gluten free menu with drinks included (an often overlooked item) and great atmosphere. The staff is knowledgeable about allergens. I have never had a bad experience here. This has become our special occasion restaurant!
The manager came over and told me how safe the kitchen and food were for celiacs. They had a fantastic GF menu. I was so excited to eat out. Fast forward that night and I was so sick. It was not a minor episode from a little cc. It was full blown. I will never trust them again.
Love that they give you endless GF bread at the table LIKE NORMAL GLUTINOUS PEOPLE. But don't fill up, because the real food is amazing. Bacon wrapped "drunken" shrimp, lettuce wraps (big as a meal but priced as an app), short rib risotto and burgers are all worth writing home about. You can also get wine samples at the table, free of charge.
I was recently diagnosed with celiac disease & this was my first restaurant experience since being diagnosed. I could not have had a better experience. My wife mentioned that I had celiac when she made the reservation & when we arrived at the table the gluten free menu was waiting for me. There is a VERY wide variety of appetizers & entrees so I felt like I had a ton of choices. There was a breaded & fried calamari appetizer that they were more than happy to prepare non-breaded & sautéed rather than fried. Overall the food & wine was wonderful as was the ambience. They also have gluten free bread! I will be returning to this place often!
We have eaten at Cooper's Hawk quite a few times with three strictly gluten-free people. I love this restaurant and the food, but it's not totally safe. Once our party was served regular bread despite gf menus (which we sent back), once my dad was served a regular meal. That was OK because he's gf to support the rest of us. On this last visit they gave me regular pasta, despite requesting gf menus and detailing very carefully to the waiter who was gf and who wasn't at our table. I was tired and didn't question my meal when it arrived. The manager did come to tell me what happened, and apologized and comped my meal, but I ended up sick on my vacation. So, by all means eat here, but be very cautious and double-check what is delivered to the table.
