Dedicated gluten free menu with an extensive list of GF options. Even offer GF popovers!
I was recently diagnosed with Celiac. I am surprised to see the negative reviews about Davios I have worked there for 10 years and I can assure you they take allergies very seriously. There are multiple steps applied for all food allergies. I am sorry for anyone that had a negative experience. The management and staff are some of the most genuine people I have ever worked with
My 17 year old Celiac son was there last weekend. They chose this restaurant based on the high reviews. He ordered NY Sirloin strip steak and Brussels sprouts and had to run to the restroom to vomit twice before he was even through the meal. He was absolutely glutened here. Disappointing.
I always had great experiences here before being diagnosed with celiacs, so I was really happy to see how good they were for me now. The waiter was very cautious and repeated/confirmed gluten free for everything we ordered. The servers all made sure to indicate what was gluten free as they put them down, and the manager also came by to check on everything. The gluten free menu is great, and I had no issues afterwards.
Waitress told us that someone was going to bring over gluten free bread. Someone ended up bringing gluten bread! I have celiacs so I got very sick. Then the waitress forgot we were gluten free and tried to offer us gluten desserts after the incident in the beginning. Food was good but expensive and the event could have been avoidable.
Best restaurant ever for GF. They get it!
Food, service, atmosphere are all incredible.
I have Celiac and this is my favorite restaurant. It is expensive, but worth every penny. They have a separate Gluten Free menu, with TONS of options. I usually get GF bread to start, an Appetizer portion of a specialty pasta, Filet Mignon, potatoes and Bacon Brussels. Never got sick, great service, best food.
What an excellent restaurant, food and service! They have a GF menu, as well as GF/dairy-free bread (from Something Sweet Without Wheat in Woburn). I had the penne with applewood smoked chicken and it was heavenly! The GF noodles are unlike any I've had before, and tasted too good to be true. The waitstaff is excellent with allergies and I would recommend this place to anyone!
I am newly GF and have been so long enough so I FINALLY feel good. Restaurants make me nervous. I had a family celebration there for my brother so I had to go. I was so happy with their GF menu though. The staff was very respectful of GF issues and made me feel "normal". This was my most positive GF restaurant experience yet!
I have to say I went to the Davios in Boston a week before this location, and I think i expected the same menu items. Their menu was much smaller and just some basic bread to start with as opposed to the mini roll/muffins at the Boston location. The food was still excellent as well as service. Just not as big of a menu.
Excellent. Upscale with a real GF menu. Bring your own crackers if you like them with your app. Other than that very well done and they know what they're talking about.
I attended a wedding rehearsal dinner here during Veteran's Day week-end. Peter Joly, the manager, made this one of the most memorable and amazing meals I have ever eaten. I am not only allergic to wheat/flour, but sulfites (found in wine and wine vinegars) and all milk products. He had his chefs make me a risotto and tuna steak with veggies, so decadent I took a picture of it. He also had a dessert of about 3 cups of luscious, ripe blueberries, blackberries, strawberries and raspberries> I was nervous because there were so many allergens; Peter checked on me frequently and made my first time as a customer to Davio's very special and memorable.
My wife has celiac and today was her birthday. She had said that she wanted to get Italian for her birthday, and I thought this place would be a great option since it has a gluten free menu. They even let us put our dietary restrictions on the reservation. When we got there, we quickly realized that our waiter was not being attentive to our gluten free needs. When ordering, we tried to make it as clear as possible that the gluten restriction was because of an allergy, but the waiter was not very attentive. A few hours later, we found out my wife got glutened by something we ate at the restaurant. They lure you in by letting you put your restrictions on the reservations and having gf menus ready for you, but don’t fall for it. If you have celiac, avoid this place at all costs.
Great service, attention to details and gf accommodations from start to end. Didn’t get sick (celiac).
