gluten free liver and onions. delicious. great food inexpensive. our server was friendly.
Love this place. Breakfast, lunch, dinner have all been great. Open 24/7. They take allergies very seriously. Great- especially for the low price!
Lots of optional to choose from. Happy to see their celiac support.
Good food, good price...I got the steak salad. Good coffee too!
Very celiac friendly. Easy to understand menu. Food was pretty good. Open 24 hours.
I ordered a burger with gluten free bun and the waitress suggested pan fries because they are gluten free. Sadly something was cross contaminated and made me severely ill.
The manager went out if his way to make us crust less strawberry pie
This is a great safe option along the PA turnpike. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. There were plenty of options (including dessert), and our celiac daughter was very happy. When it came time to box up her leftovers, our server brought us out a new glove to use so we didn't touch her food after handling our gluten. We'll probably be back on our next road trip!
I enjoy eating breakfast here and have had no reactions. Their burgers with gluten free buns are great.
For a short order chain diner, not bad food. They have a celiac friendly menu, and the waitress said they have dedicated prep areas. I only gave them 3 stars, though, because the waitress was kind of rude. She wanted us to believe she was overwhelmed, even though there was only like 3 or 4 tables. Oh well, I’d eat here again, but hope for a better waitress. I may have to live with celiacs, but the waitress has to live with her hair style choices, and I’m okay with that.
The staff here had attended special training and the manager brought my food out separately to me. The menu includes a special section detailing GF offerings and describing how to modify other items ( for example, delicious GF buns are available for burgers or sandwiches ). It is a diner, so the food is diner food, but they went to the extra effort for me such that I felt safe.
I am not sure what happened last time. We had gone to this location specifically because of my celiac since I had eaten something here safely before, but I got terribly sick and was truly the first time I was "glutened" since diagnosis a few years ago :(
Very impressed, I notified my server that I had celiac disease and I asked if she could ask the kitchen staff to please change gloves when handling my food. I ordered a turkey burger on gluten free bread and she came back to let me know the turkey burger would normally go through the grill that also had bread in there, so she said they could cook mine on the grill too instead so it wouldn't be by the bread and get contaminated, very sweet. Great service, thank you Jenny!!!
restaurant bathrooms disgusting. only thing gluten free a bun which they would not toast for bteKfast. could not fry things on grill because of cross contamination . no gluten free menu. waitressesl uninformed about allergies. had fruit and coffee. will never go bavk
Have eaten here for years when in town. I tell the server I'm Celiac and they know what to do. There's a separate section on the main menu just for us. FYI, they'll make you "home fries" (grilled potato slices) to go with your Angus burger if you'd like, since they don't have a dedicated fryer for French fries. Service is terrific and so is the food.
Food was very good. I loved the gluten free bun (it was 75¢ extra). Waitress was very helpful with the gluten free. They have a little gluten free section within the regular menu. It would be awesome to have been able to have a smiley cookie. For the month of June 2017 children meals are 99¢ and both my children received a special Happy Birthday cup for Smiley since it is his 30th Birthday.
Went here for breakfast and ordered a sandwich with their GF bun and a side of fruit. Although it tasted ok and the service was good, I ended up sick before we even left the restaurant. I'm thinking maybe cross contamination!? Probably won't go back.
looks like a nicer version of a diner like Denny's/Big Boy. similar options of dishes, but a section on the menu showing what is GF. the options didn't work for us so we went across the street. we didn't actually eat here but can't leave this review without a rating, so ignore the rating we left.
Ordinary. There was an unpleasant problem with the food on my plate. The staff and manager were very accommodating about replacing my breakfast and not charging for it. However, I was left with the impression that "these things will happen" and it shouldn't have happened.
Was in Pennsylvania for a family reunion and researched restaurants that offer gluten free options. I read the previous reviews for this restaurant so my family and I decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised that the gluten free menu items were on their regular menu! I ordered the angus burger and was so glad that the bun was so fresh and soft as some other experiences I have had at other restaurants, the bun was really hard. This was by far one of the best burgers I have ever had. This is a great place to eat if you need to stay away from gluten!
Asked about gluten free menu and host was totally knowledgeable. Sat me with a waitress that he said "really knew her stuff" too. She did. Asked about cross contamination and she explained their flagging mechanism for allergies in the cooking area. Menu options aren't amazing, but not bad either.
You can't trust the gluten free menu one hundred percent. You can't have anything fried because they use a common fryer. Chili wasn't bad, very beany reminds me of Wendy's chili. I got a black angus cheeseburger with bacon. It was kind of blah, meat, cheese, bacon, no condiments. They offer a gluten free bun for 75 cents extra. I went without. Staff seemed very contentious but not overly trained. Some of the gluten free dinners come with rolls but they don't always say order without.
While the menu is a little limited (they don't have a gf fryer), the staff is very knowledgeable about cross contamination and what options are celiac safe. Even if you get a server who is new and doesn't totally understand celiac disease, they will either bring a manager over to talk to you or be honest about it, and they usually ask a lot of questions and try to educate themselves. I have eaten there many times and never got sick.
