There are so many gf options, including a gluten free cinnamon roll which was so delicious, I ordered it two days in a row while visiting the area. I ordered take out and all GF items I ordered were specifically marked with a GF sticker and bagged separately. They offer GF lunch items, pancakes, and more. Highly recommend.
I will preface this with saying I’ve been to other Egg Harbor Locations without issue. My server was very rude and I could tell right away wasn’t taking my severe celiacs seriously. I ordered my food and said over and over again how sensitive I am and to please put allergy on the tag and even spoke to a manager. The food comes out for my friend gluten free (like she requested) and mine came out on normal plates with a side of crackers. When I noted this and sent it back she just re-plated the same contaminated food and rolled her eyes at me. It took her all of 30 seconds to come back to I asked her if it was the same food and she huffed and said yes. I asked for a manager and when I told him what had happened, he didn’t apologize once and even stood there and argued with me about my food. Then he offered to have it remade but by then I already felt so uncomfortable eating there I said please just cancel it all. He then argued with me again and said he was offended I didn’t trust him and walked off. I didn’t eat anything while I was there and eventually others in the restaurant seemed so uncomfortable he offered to comp my friend’s meal. Not an enjoyable experience at all. The wait staff was not only negligent and untrained but rude and flippant about my food allergy. The manager was also rude and didn’t take my allergies seriously. I have never had a bad experience at the other locations of this restaurant but would never return here again. Not only negligent but rude on top of it!
Fantastic food! Great tasting bread, they get it from Toronto.
I am so impressed with this place. It has a special gluten free menu with tons of choices. They have a cinnamon roll and waffles… lots of sweets you can’t find elsewhere. The waitstaff is very friendly and assures you that things are gluten free. The location is very large, even though I initially thought it was tiny from outside! I can’t wait to go back and try more off the menu. Your plate should be green to indicate allergen status.
Dedicated menu, served on different color plates. Good stuff. Update: I didn't feel good one time but I think I ate way too much. I've eaten at many locations many times and had many dishes (I really like the word many today) without any issues. As they've grown around the Chicago area this is one of my go to places.
I’ve been to other egg harbor cafe locations that have been great and this one is no different! HUGE gf menu and super celiac conscious. They also carry sweet Ali’s cinnamon rolls which are a fav of mine. I had the avocado toast with over hard eggs (came w a fruit cup too). They have a separate dedicated gf toaster so no cross contamination risk! My celiac cousin had a GF San Antonio skillet and cinnamon roll. This place is awesome!!
