Since this is a gf app, i will not mention the "fresh" fish tasted old and rubbery. The service was terrible, basically waiter only came out ro get paid. I have celiacs after eating there i got severe stomach cramps, bloating, and flatulence ( sorry Kathena). Would not recommend on many levels.

I spoke with a manager (Mike) prior to even dining since they do not have a gluten free menu. He assured me I could have fresh fish and vegetables. He was very kind and helpful. He told me to Steer clear of any shrimp because it’s boiled with gluten! I ordered the golden tile broiled with salt and pepper. I used my Nima Sensor to test the fish and it came back with gluten found. I sent it back and asked for it to be broiled but with no seasoning this time. Nima detected gluten again. Very bummed. Different manager came by and was very rude. Didn’t get to eat. I won’t dine here again.
Eating out with a food allergy is NOT an easy task. But today in Galveston, I was overly impressed with The Fisherman’s Wharf. Their waitstaff was super knowledgeable about food allergies and cross contamination & sent the manager to our table to go over the ENTIRE menu with me to tell me what they could change on EVERY meal to ensure I could order whatever I wanted. Not to mention, it was delicious. I am still so impressed with the service and knowledge at this place and will recommend it to anyone!! I can’t wait to come back.
MJ did a great job as our waiter. He sent Brian, the manager, over to discuss gluten free options. I appreciated the fact that they asked what I would like to eat on the menu and then determined how to make it gluten free. They reassured me that the kitchen would do their very best and it was terrific. My meal: Shrimp cocktail, Caesar Salad, Blackened Red Snapper, steamed veggies & steamed rice - all was great!
Food was great, staff was excellent and view was fascinating! Waiter asked if there were any allergies, I don’t know that we’ve ever been asked that up front. Waiter and manager offered up many suggestions and options. Prices are high but the service helps soften the blow.
The waiter seemed annoyed. They don't have a GF menu. They will let you know what is gluten free and what isn't. I got mahi mahi and it was over cooked. I was told the crabmeat butter sauce was safe and when it came out all it had was lump crabmeat because the sauce wasn't GF. I was told the potatoes were made for me because they are usually not GF. I didn't feel comfortable eating them since our waitress had a "should be" response for everything. For the price, the service and what I got I probably won't be back.
Ditto what everyone else said. The waitstaff was helpful and the manager came by to check on us twice. I had grilled shrimp and veggies. De- lish!
Very good. the manager came to the table to confirm my order. I had the market salad. It was very good.
I love this place! they do an awesome job with honoring allergies! Wait staff wrote down all of my issues, manager then came by to ask about the oil they use and again confirmed the allergies I had listed to the waiter.
They have several items that can be done gluten free. Manager and wait staff very knowledgable.
