amazing textures - pumpkin swiss roll and coffee cake were AMAZING, soft moist and fluffy. cinnamon was good as well, just a little harder than I would’ve liked.

This place is AMAZING! Truly top-notch! I have a severe tree nut allergy (carry my epipen everywhere) and they are so careful with checking for allergens and clearly marking everything. I am from California and always make it a point to come here when visiting Washington or Oregon. My FAVORITE gluten free/allergen friendly place in the west coast. Love the options & that it is LGBTQ safe as well. Staff is so friendly and accommodating. The restrooms are even cute. 😀

It is a wonderful little bakery and cafe that is just blocks away from the Convention Center (12 minute walk). The facility is dedicated gluten free. Staff know to ask about allergies when taking orders. I loved the salad and everything else that I ordered.

We order from this bakery for every family birthday, plus big family holidays like Sukkot and Yom Kippur break-fast. They always have good vegan and gluten-free options so I can order food that both my brother (vegan) and I (VERY sensitive celiac) can eat. We love the savory scones and the hand pies are my wife's favorite. The staff are really cool and knowledgeable and one time when I thought I'd placed an order for a family birthday but I forgot, they helped me put together a selection from what they had that day, and we made it work for everybody.

Excellent pastry! Had an apple cinnamon type cupcake (my favorite), a pumpkin roll (delicious) and a cinnamon roll (great flavor but a little dry). Will definitely stop by again next time I'm in Ptld! Highly recommend

Unfortunately, I couldn’t eat here. They use oats in almost everything that is also dairy free. I think I had one choice. So I decided to skip it and go back to petunias.

I came here with my son 2 mornings ago, the day my son was going to move into Reed College. We bought many pastries here to go. My son had a pretzel (they heated it for him, so delicious!), a cinnamon sugar donut (yum), and a vegan donut called cardomom I believe. I had a Swiss Roll slice - strawberries and cream (yummy), a cinnamon roll (they heated it up for me, my son devoured it since I got full) and a Vegan plum cake (so good). I also bought Vegan Focaccia Bread that we consumed later on for lunch while waiting for the bus (yum yum yum). The bakers here are wonderful people 😁

I love this place. Their pastries and cakes are amazing, and they've recently started expanding into more savory lunch-type options. If you're unsure what to get, I recommend the cinnamon rolls (warmed).

Holy cow, what an amazing experience!! Totally gluten free facility. Amazing options if you are vegan too. I had the quiche, tiramisu, and cold brew. All were amazing! I also purchased plenty of take home options to enjoy later

Excellent place! I was a little overwhelmed with the choices because I don't have dedicated GF cafes where I live. The cakes and other pastries were fluffy and just the eight amount of sweetness and richness. I was happy with my small coffee too. When I ask for a small, I expect a small cup and not a medium. A small was what I got, and it was perfect.
I highly recommend this place to everyone!

The workers were so so so helpful and kind. I can't have oats, even GF, and they were kind enough to check multiple baked goods for me. They also let me look at the ingredients as well. The triple chocolate cake was rich and delicious. I was not a huge fan of the donut, but it wasn't horrible. My husband enjoyed the biscuit and mushroom grave. We both loved our chai tea as they had great warming spices. We got one iced and one hot.

Gluten Free Gem definitely delivers what its name promises! We ordered the triple chocolate cake for Thanksgiving so I can share in the dessert, and all I can say is a delicious OMG. Nobody ever noticed it’s completely GF, and everybody ditched the traditional pumpkin pie. I guess we have a new tradition, so YAY for me!

Indoor seating was open! Couldn’t tell from other reviews if it would be. Had the GF cinnamon roll and a matcha. So so good! Located in one of the better areas of Portland. Felt ok walking around alone outside in the daylight.

All the menu is gluten free, they also have soy free and vegan 🌱 labels on their baked goods.
