Staff was very knowledgeable and even asked whether I was celiac or just had a gluten intolerance. They gave me a celiac menu, so I felt very comfortable eating here. The food was average, but the attention to detail made it worth it.
Staff was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. Very impressed with the service, and the food was so good! Highly recommend
Amazing!!!Can't say enough good things about this restaurant the level that they go to to make you feel safe is outstanding!.Dedicated space in kitchen and they even have a celiac menu! They have delicious food and drinks and even made me my own chips on the grill:) Will definitely be back!
Hands down the best GF service I have ever received. In addition to not being able to eat gluten, I have several other food allergies that they were very good at accommodating. The manager Bobby was great and personally made sure everything was safe.
Absolutely amazing and staff are so knowledgeable!!
Staff was amazing
The care the staff took was excellent. They had a separate gluten free menu adapting lots of options from the main menu.
This place was great. When I let the hostess know that we would need a GF menu, she asked if it was GF or Celiac. We’ve never been asked that and immediately felt more comfortable. The owner came over to talk to us about their extensive GF menu and offered to make my daughter anything that she would like. She ordered the “Celiac fish tacos” and LOVED them. 24 hours later and she is still feeling great. Thank you for providing a safe place for her to eat. We don’t get to eat out much, so it’s nice when we can.
Great food with a VIP experience. Very knowledgeable about Celiac’s and the lobster fajitas were amazing.
Fantastic restaurant for a celiac. They asked if I was Celiac or intolerant and explained how it would be prepared. I had chicken fajitas and they were fantastic!!! Even made me my own tortillas chips
Took my four sons for dinner tonight. All of us have celiac and are dairy-free. The service was phenomenal, the food was authentic and high-quality, and the allergy accommodations were perfect. If you decide to get the veggie fajitas (which are amazing!), plan to share or have leftovers!
I went here with my Husband and asked if they had a gluten free menu and the hostess asked if I needed a gluten free menu or Celiac. I have never been asked that before since I have Celiacs so it was a nice surprise. I had their gluten free grilled tortilla chips and the Celiac tacos. The manager came up to talk with me as well so I felt very confident in my order. I did not feel sick afterwards which was amazing. I'm very sensitive. As always, talk with the manager when your there.
I have celiac and was excited about this place so I was sad that my experience ended badly. They felt very accommodating to my needs and they said several things that made me trust their knowledge of celiac. I started off with the “special chips” which they said they make specifically for celiacs and they grill them instead of using the contaminated fryers. I also got the guacamole to go along with it. For my meal, I ordered the “celiac tacos”. The food was delicious, but I began to feel the effects of gluten exposure that night. I’ve been suffering from gluten exposure for days now and my guess is that it was the “special chips”. All I know is that something really messed me up.
They were very knowledgeable about celiac and made our daughter feel very comfortable and special in her ordering and food delivery. The food was yummy!
They asked if I had Celiac or an intolerance so they could follow the proper cross contamination procedures, which included a separate cooking area. They made handmade gluten free chips in the oven that were better than anything I’ve ever had! Definitely stop here!!!!!!
5 stars for the GF awareness, separate menu and even differentiation between GF and Celiac. We weren’t impressed with the service or atmosphere but the food tasted great.
Absolutely amazing! Steak enchiladas a must! Menu just for celiac. Very knowledge staff and the food seriously... so good. Mojitos pretty good too! :) Will go back during short trip to San Diego!!!
Incredible meal! If you’re after Mexican and need a place that has knowledge and dedicated kitchen space as well as a menu just for the gluten free - this is the place for you! I had the chicken tacos and they were the best I had in San Diego!
Staff was extremely knowledgeable about gluten and cross contimatinon. They were also able to accommodate all my dietary restrictions. I tested all my dishes with my nima and all had a smile!
Specific menu for celiacs. Knowledge waiter.
Most celiac-friendly in all of downtown! I have celiac and have eaten at las hadas 3 times. Have never felt sick and I am quite sensitive. Most importantly, each time the manager on duty has come over to tell me about their processes and review the celiac friendly menu. Plus the food is amazing and decently priced. Brought a large group of non-celiacs there (bc traveling for work and its where I felt comfortable eating) and they all raved about it. Thanks Las Hadas! Wish there were more restaurants that care so much! Keep it up :-)
They are getting 2 stars because the service was great and the staff seemed to really care and be able to make accommodations for Celiac. However, my husband is not 'glutenated'. He had the guac with the 'special' chips and the El Ray Fajitas with corn tortillas. Within in an hour of leaving the symptoms started and he has been up all night sick and still is. I'm not sure what happened but theres no denying he got something more than cross contamination.
I was here In San Diego for the ACEP conference & had a wonderful meal the wait staff was wonderful & a manager came to check on me twice THANKS LAS HADAS
Amazing food! Attention by the staff was second to none. I’ll go back every time I’m close.
They were amazing! Manager brought a gluten free menu without being asked and explained how the whole process works. I was so excited to be able to eat without any fear!
Perfect! Manager came to our table explaining how they deal with GF for Celiacs, all the personnel was prepared and knowledgeable. And it was delicious, tasty and abundant!
The staff was AMAZING—a manager, Marcelle, was able to help me customize everything for all of my allergies/intolerances (celiac, dairy free, no nightshades—which is unheard of in a Mexican restaurant!) and my server was incredibly helpful as well! A must try :)
Wow!! They totally get it here. It's busy as heck cos of Comic Con, but they took the time to have the manager and kitchen mgr visit me to confer. Food was superb, margaritas were perfect, service OUTSTANDING, and I didn't get sick!
Fantastic care for their GF customers and large portions with many options for GF. Staff were incredibly friendly. Food was good, but not best I've ever had.
They have a dedicated celiac menu!! The manager, Marsala, came over to offer even more GF options. The waiter, Gabriel, made sure the seasoning was GF, even made sure I was okay with dairy. The service was impeccable, I was hugely impressed by this place, if I lived here I would go there every week. The guac was super fresh and great, they don’t have a dedicated frier, but they offered to grill soft corn tortillas and make them crispy. I had the fish tacos, they were great.
Extremely knowledgeable staff. Actually best I’ve ever had in regards to knowing what is gluten/celiac safe and how to prepare. I have soy and dairy as well and they were great with that as well. Felt fine after and food was delicious.
The staff was very friendly. Worst food I ever had. Rice was terrible, black beans even worse fish tacos were blah ,I had to ask for salt and pepper. Hopefully, it’s a new chef and they are learnings if not I recommend new chef.
I’m celiac. No issues at all. The manager came out and explained everything. A separate gf menu. Great food. Guacamole with grilled corn chips was super.
Staff was very knowledgeable and communicated how they tracked my food in the kitchen. They have a separate menu for GF. Be sure to tell them when you order though so they can take proper care of your food. I had the carnitas tacos. They were quite good, traditional Mexican style. The chips and guacamole were great too. Loved the red sangria too!
Outside of eating at a GF restaurant, this is the best care you will receive. Not only was the food excellent but they make sure that the chances of cross contamination are next to nothing. My cocktail was even returned when I realized the vodka wasn’t a GF brand and the bartender made sure it was remade with Tito’s.
They take such great care of their GF customers! We basically had two waiters: our waiter and the manager who often came to check on me and explain the GF options. They have a separate GF menu and cook GF items separately. Cannot have regular chips but they will grill corn tortillas for you. Did not get sick. Not used to being able to eat at Mexican restaurants so this was a real treat. Some restaurants make you feel guilty about being GF but this is the opposite!
I decided from all the great reviews that this would be a safe place to eat at, even as a super sensitive celiac, and I was NOT disappointed!! We stopped by to grab take-out before hopping a train back to LA, and just by asking for a gluten-free menu from the hostess, the waitress was alerted, and even the manager (or owner?) came out to discuss my level of sensitivity and what would be safe for me. INCREDIBLE service, and I am so grateful for their help. I had the grilled fish tacos off the GF menu and had absolutely no reactions. Absolutely a gem for Celiacs!
This restaurant is great if you are looking for somewhere to eat that is celiac friendly. I have celiac's disease and am always looking for new accommodating restaurants. I tried this place out with my friend who also eats gluten free and we loved it! We had a great experience here. They were extremely friendly. I asked the hostess if there were any gluten free options and she immediately brought me a separate gluten free menu. We were even greeted by the owner! This made my experience so much easier because I didn't have to modify anything. I come to eat here all the time now and am always showing this place to my friends. I would highly recommend for anybody with a gluten intolerance, celiac's disease, or anybody just looking for a great Mexican restaurant to eat at!
I brought my mom to this restaurant because a friend told me they had good celiac/ gluten free options. I was blown away by this restaurant. When I told my server, Alex, that my mom had celiac disease he told me was going to bring us a new menu. The manager came and presented this menu to us, which was very awesome. We ordered guacamole and fish tacos and they were both very fresh and amazing tasting. Overall pleased with this restaurant and will come back next time in San Diego, highly reccomend.
Amazing food and service. They have a special menu for gluten and celiac free and the manager comes to your table and goes over it with you! Will be back for sure!
Separate GFree and Celiac menus. Superb attention to explaining in detail the ingredients. And to top it off - the food is incredibly wonderful. My go to Mexican cuisine in the Gaslamp. Eat here!
Excellent Carne asada! They have a seperate gf menu. Staff very attentive in making sure food was not contaminated. Will go back when downtown.
Very impressed by how attentive the staff is in making sure no cross contamination occurs. The manager even came by to explain they have separate cooking surfaces for corn tortillas but no separate fryers. The best tacos and amazing service!
Fabulous! Great selection, very caring and accommodating. Family owned, and they really go the extra mile to ensure gf and delicious!
Very nice people and great service. Server took time to discuss my options and was aware of risks of cross contamination. Food was absolutely great. Would eat here all of the time if I lived in San Diego.
The food was awesome. The service great. And the owner delivered the food to our table and assured us it was safe!!!
They were very knowledgeable about Celiac disease and immediately sent over a manager who helped prepare my food. Unfortunately, the Nima showed that there was gluten in my chicken tacos. They were understanding and gave me white rice instead.
Matt was very friendly and knowledgeable about gluten intolerance. He knew which tequilas were gluten free as well as which entrees were safe for me to eat. Alan, the CEO, came to the table and reassured me the fish tacos I ordered would be prepared without contamination. The food was delicious! The Jalapeno margaritas were the best I've had (and I've had a few!). I look forward to my next visit to Las Hadas Bar and Grill.
The food at Las Hadas is delish and the service and accommodation was extraordinary! I asked for info on gluten free options and our server asked about my specific restrictions so they could ensure a safe meal. He advised on celiac safe options and provide separate chips and salsa for me. This was a stress free, amazing dining experience where I felt understood and respected. Thank you to our server, Andrew, and all those behind the scenes for a wonderful evening!
Amazing. Hands down the best restaurant I’ve ever been to for celiac. I have been to places across the country and the world and this place was amazing. The manager talked to me and then they accidentally cross contaminated my tacos and told me it would be a minute because they started me a fresh plate on a new pan with manager supervision.
