From the moment we walked up to the door the staff was helpful and friendly. The host showed us the gf menu, and geeked out over starwars bag with my friend lol. They have a dedicated celiac safe menu and made great recommendations. Was it the best Mexican food I’ve ever had? No. It was good, don’t get me wrong- just could of used a touched more seasoning. It was still delicious and it was SAFE. I also order a watermelon no sugar rush drink. The salt ring overpowered the drink a bit but it was also good. Would go back.

Separate gluten free menu. I ordered three tacos, the carnitas, steak, and shrimp. The carnitas were the best one! The food and service were great, we went just after they opened at 4 and it wasn’t busy. When the order was brought to the table, it was not our server but I assume a manager who said how the tortillas were made separate (not on tortilla press), and the meat and sauces were made separate as well. Highly recommend! My non-celiac husband enjoyed his gluten enchiladas!

Didn't get sick but the food sucked. Had the shrimp fajitas which were way bland..no seasoning on the shrimp at all. The gf Tacos were also bland and didn't travel well for take Our son had the ribeye which I asked for med well..it was med at best leaning toward med rare. Maybe eatting it there it would have been better but for take out i will not do it again. I guess if you are only rating on gf handing they do well but for food taste, I'd do a 1 star

My experience here was so far beyond my expectations in both service and food taste. The manager himself came to our table and made me feel so comfortable about eating here. He even cooked my food! He clearly explained all of the precautions they take to keep Celiacs safe. I will definitely come back again!

Super knowledgeable, and explained how my dish was different to accommodate multiple allergies. GF menu online, traditional chips are cross contaminated but they’ll bake corn tortillas for you. Will be back!

Incredible! Staff was incredible- friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. The celiac tacos were delicious and packed full of meat. The guacamole was great. The baked “chips” weren’t too crispy but they did the job. Will def be back

Celiac tacos for the win! They have a separate gluten free menu and they are very aware of allergies. Had a great meal and feel great ❤. My non-celiac boyfriend also loved his burrito.

Very recommended! The waitress was charming and knowledgeable. I am very picky and they were patient and managed to adjust the dish according to my needs. I took tacos with chicken and rice and an excellent gluten-free salsa. Don't miss their dessert, perfect!

I ate here a few days ago. My fajitas were delicious and they are very knowledgeable about gluten cross contamination. I have a diary allergy as well and unfortunately the celiac guacamole came out with cojita cheese on it. I felt so safe when I ordered that I let my guard down and somehow didn’t notice so started eating it before the waiter noticed and brought me a fresh guacamole. I wish he would have told me right when he noticed instead of waiting for a new one to be prepared. It might have saved me from eating so much and I wouldn’t be so sick right now, but they were good about gluten. I still recommend double checking and verifying everything when they bring it to the table after my experience though.

Our server was so knowledgeable, took great care to ensure a safe meal. Had the celiac tacos with chicken, very hearty portion, tasted great. Guacamole was delicious and baked chips weren’t amazing (chewy/soft and burnt) but a great means to the guac. Would definitely recommend!

Very sensitive celiac here, and I had a great experience! They have a separate (but small) gluten free menu. I asked about the tortilla chips and the waitress explained that they cook them separately, as the fryer would have cross contamination. I got the quesadillas for dinner too and they were tasty. The waitress was knowledgeable and specially said “you want the celiac quesadilla” and not just gluten free. Would def recommend!

Okay. Reviews oversold options. There is a separate gluten free menu that has three options - fajitas, three al la carte tacos, and “chips”. The team though is very knowledgeable. No separate fyer. Gluten free “chips” are toasted tortillas. GF/Non gluten free food mediocre. Not a 5/5 compromise place for a mixed crowd.

I did not like their food, but I didn't get sick either. I called and asked about GF options and she said yes, then I told her I wanted street tacos and she said yes they have those and their GF. Got down there and they don't have street tacos. I don't understand why some places can't be honest... the chicken tacos I got were not good...

Loved the chicken quesadilla. Very friendly staff and great food. Fully confident for a safe and tasty meal that will not disappoint. Gluten free food cooked on a completely separate grill. Salsas and sauces are house-made (and fantastic/fresh).

Amazing gluten free experience! The hostess asked if we had any allergies, when informed of celiac she sent the manager over who informed us of all their CC protocols - separate grill to heat corn tortillas, all of the meats are grilled on dedicated grill, etc. The manager then checked in after we placed the order to tell us he let the chef know, and delivered it himself confirming it was GF. In addition to being very safe & reassuring, the food was also some of the best I’ve ever had. I had a carnitas quesadilla. The chips aren’t GF (fryer) so they gave us baked tortillas to dip in the salsa. Although they aren’t exactly like chips, they’re very good and perfect for dipping. I visited twice in my three night stay in SD because it was so good! If you have Celiac Disease or are GF this is a must visit in San Diego!

They're very good about keeping things free from cross-contamination, so I want to give them a great review, but to be honest the food wasn't that good. The chips are cooked in a shared fryer so they did baked chips to avoid contamination and they were basically slightly crispy corn tortillas. Taco Tuesday prices are good though.

Very celiac safe! The owner came out and spoke with me regarding the precautions they take. The chicken tacos were yummy. They have a shared fryer, so the gluten free tortilla chips are baked. Not the tastiest chips but it’s still nice to have the option. The guacamole was fabulous! Would highly recommend!

Get the Steak tacos
Guacamole is fresh, but the GF chips are soft. Take the the guac home and buy some chips. They use a soft chip because the hard chips are fried in same fryer. Also, the rice is fried, yes , rice is fried in same fryer as non gf.
That being said, let the server know you are GF or celiac. Was a real pleasant surprise for a bar atmosphere restaurant to be on point for what is available.

If you identify yourself as having celiac disease, the manager on duty will handle your order and they will take it VERY seriously, which is nice. But options are somewhat limited for gluten free. Like the “chips” we got were floppy grilled corn tortillas. Many of the dishes come with fries but those aren’t available GF because they share a fryer. So yes, they take cross contamination seriously but the GF versions of most items are subpar.

Las Hadas is AMAZING!!! I have Celiac and a severe gluten allergy so eating out can be scary. This is the most relaxing meal I have had in years in a restaurant. The owner is fantastic and really knows what he is doing to keep his customers safe. I had the carni taco, black beans and an order of chips and salsa. The chips are baked/grilled giving them a different char grilled taste- so good! And the trio of salsas - also sooo good. My hubby had the regular(non celiac) California burrito - he couldn’t finish it. Prices are very reasonable making this a place to definitely go to again and again.

This place is amazing! It is very celiac safe. Family friendly!! The wait staff knows all there is to know about celiac disease. We have two daughters very sensitive to gluten. This restaurant is family owned and Alan the son of the father who started the business cane to our table. This is typical. The wait staff told us the manager will personally speak with you to understand your preferences. They delivered! Right in the gas lamp district it is so nice to have a great option for celiac families! Thank you!!!!

I ate here while visiting San Diego and had a great experience! Manager came to talk to me and explained they had a separate area for grilling the tortillas and such and they did have a separate GF Menu. I had the “celiac street tacos” and they were delish.

The manager of this place is EXTREMELY knowledgeable and made me feel the most comfortable I have ever felt after being diagnosed celiac. I can’t recommend this place enough, not only is the food amazing but it’s so securely safe. The manager and waitress took time out of their busy night to explain every process they have with celiac customers and it was great. Amazing place
