We loved this place for years…. But had a horrible experience a couple weeks ago and just can’t trust them now. Not only did we feel sick after eating, we didn’t get what we ordered AND we were charged at least $10 for things we didn’t ask for. The front desk said our server was new and would only credit us $2.
The restaurant used to be pretty awesome but recently they have been making budget cuts and the serving sizes of food, particularly gluten free food, has gone way down. (I ordered French toast recently but the french toast was actually just bread with a little powdered sugar on top and consisted of crusts). Also they have stoped serving fresh syrup and butter. If you want good gluten free breakfasts I recommend for you to try someplace else.
We are here every morning we were here and would drive back to return! Great GF menu and kids loved the waffles. Excellent service and food. If you need a place to eat…go here!!!
Had dedicated GF waffle maker. The manager has celiac disease and cautioned us on cross contamination is hard to avoid for them there. Not many safe choices because of that. Our son with celiac disease had GF waffle and banana. Could also probably do eggs safely. Don’t trust GF toaster there if worried about cross contact.
Before even being seated, the host asked if anyone needed a gf menu and grabbed one for me. When I told the waiter I had a gluten allergy, he asked if I had celiac - I was surprised because most don’t know enough to care! He made a note to take extra precaution with my plate and told me that the owners wife is a celiac, and she makes sure they take it seriously! I had the salmon eggs Benedict and it was wonderful! Not the best gluten free bread I’ve ever had, but not bad either. Only disappointment is that they can’t do gf pancakes, but they do offer waffles. Other than that, plenty of options on the gf menu!
They have an amazing gluten free menu which has many options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!
The works and owner are so kind and very outgoing!
Horrible service.
Forgot my meal and they couldn’t get anyone to help me until my kids were already done eating.
Still made me pay for my meal even though I didn’t get it until we were getting ready to leave. So I never got to eat and we’re there for 1 hour and 20 min!
Horrible horrible horrible.
Definitely won’t be back and definitely will spread the word about this place.
There are a lot more restaurants in town that actually have waiters and gluten free options.
Worst place I have eaten in Idaho and I have lived here my whole life.
Shame on Le peep!
We showed up mid morning on a Wednesday and the place was packed with a wait. It was a gloried Denny's, typical American diner food but it was good and no one got sick. They had a separate GF menu which was great and lots of options. I had the omelet, potatoes and GF English muffin. Service was good but slow - just super busy. Prices were decent. They had a sign on their door that they are no longer serving dinner, just breakfast and lunch only, FYI. Pretty dining outside with view of lake!
Absolutely an amazing place, very careful and very delicious. I thought my teenage celiac daughter was going to do the happy dance right in the middle of the restaurant, the waffles are to die for. I highly recommend this place. Yummy!!
Knowledgeable staff and the best GF English muffins I have ever had!! A+
Gf menu! Our server was well trained and let us know what foods would be safe. No dedicated fryer for the fries but this was clarified as we ordered and since we aren't celiac we tried the fries. No problems. My teenage son liked the food so much after inhaling his gf burger and fries, we ordered gf French toast to go-butter and syrup were packed separately to avoid cross contamination. Would definitely go back.
delicious! French toast with strawberries tasted great, Colorado omelet delicious.
Amazing food, breakfast all day. prices comparable to Ihop, but with food that tastes amazing. The Gluten free FrenchToast taste better than any regular FrenchToast I have ever had. We ordered four meals and they were all 100%. Our server Aaron was very helpful and attentive and gave us great service. Thanks Aaron and Thanks Le Peep!
Le Peep is a safe place to eat for anyone with gluten issues, even the most severe. One of the owners is celiac. The restaurant has a separate kitchen (and ingredients) for gluten free. The staff is trained in cross contamination and every effort is made for a safe and enjoyable and DELICIOUS meal. The view is beautiful, the staff is great and the food... doesn't taste gluten free.... but it is! And... be sure to have their lemonade. ... it's fresh squeezed ... and amazing!!
I could have cried when I saw a 3 page gf menu!! We had breakfast and it was delicious with so many choices I didn't know handle to it. The lake front location is the icing on the cake.
I am so happy I found this place. The atmosphere is nice, up to date, and comfortable. It's right on the water. Beautiful view. I get emotional when I see such a big gluten free menu. My husband and I are on vacation and slept late, so I was overjoyed to see that they serve breakfast all day. Our server, Lisa, had ready and excellent recommendations.
I ordered the Belgium Waffle Combo, and breakdown is as follows:
I would travel for the waffle. Perfection. Texture, flavor, A+++
Over easy eggs were undercooked. I like a runny yoke, but runny whites are a no no.
The flavor of both the turkey sausage and peasant potatoes were absolutely delicious, but both were a bit dry.
I hope they can work out some of the fine tuning on the food, but those things won't stop me from coming back many times! I'll just order the waffle without the sides next time around.
Omelettes, salads, eggs, and skillets are available GF as well as a burger. If it's quiet, they may also be willing to make other sandwiches GF with the English muffins. The gluten free English muffins really are good!
I confirmed that they use a fresh pan for GF orders. Unsure about other precautions. I did not get sick, but I am usually fine unless there's a shared fryer or equipment reused without washing.
They guaranteed me that it was gluten free, even after asking many times, making sure that the kitchen knew and did make my bacon crispy, not on a cross contaminated area. Still got sick. Most of the le peep locations are very diligent. This one, i keep getting sick eating at. The waitres, was very nasty about the whole thing. Not safe at all.
