Many items on the menu are marked GF, including their fry batter/breading. Was able to enjoy their shrimp tempura roll. Raw bar and sushi offerings are good, especially during happy hour, but I’ve been unimpressed with the rest of their menu, and it’s all wildly overpriced. Service is usually good.
The gluten free chowder is back! Waiter said it’s not on the menu yet, but they have it!
Loved this. Delicious food. Server said he has worked there 20 years. He patiently answered all my questions and checked “the book” for some of my less common ingredient avoidances. Although I was sad that the gf rolls contain potato, I was grateful he saved me from an episode. Very tasty. A good experience
Went out for date night and had an amazing experience here. Separate fryers and lots of gf choices that are marked clearly. I had some delicious fried calamari and the Cioppino. Felt very safe here and didn’t get sick and I am very sensitive. I would come here a lot if I lived in the area.
We went for a restaurant week lunch and the special menu was not marked for gluten free options, so our waitress went to ask a more knowledgeable waiter. He came over right away, took over our table, ran back to the kitchen to get our questions answered and in a matter of moments, a plate of hot gluten free buns arrived. The waiter was all about how they do gluten free really well there and intend to earn our trust. The food was good, thoroughly gluten free (my husband is super sensitive), and the service was amazing. I know restaurant week is intended to get people to try out new restaurants, but I have never before felt like a restaurant was really trying to get OUR business.
The staff was very accommodating. Legal Seafood offers many items gluten free. We tried the beer battered cod with fries & fried shrimp with fried rice. This place is AMAZING! The manager & waiter was very cautious & made me feel great about eating here without worrying about being sick.
The beer battered fish and chips are excellent! And celiac friendly! Also had classic or traditional fish and chips which were awesome too!
There is no GF chowder at this location, so we headed someplace else.
I’m not sure you are safe from cross contamination, even with the dedicated fryer.
I have a wheat allergy so I have pretty clear symptoms when I am exposed to wheat products. When exposed, I immediately have some throat swelling, then, later, I start having GI upset that sometimes lasts for a couple of days. I started getting some throat irritation, but they have cinnamon sticks in the bathroom and I’m also allergic to cinnamon, so I convinced myself it was the bathroom smells. It’s a few hours later and my stomach is killing me.
They confirmed that my meal was prepared with the dedicated fryer. I think there is some other step where someone didn’t wash their hands or they didn’t use a clean utensil or something. I also noticed, a little too late, that there was food caked on to the appetizer plates they had at the table, so I’m not confident in their cleanliness.
