Server was oddly unreceptive to my celiac spiel however I never got a reaction. Love all of the fried food! They even gave me a gluten free bun at the start. When served the food they announced it all gluten free.

Went with a group of friends. Called ahead to confirm the dedicated GF fryer & the allergen protocols. She had them memorized and talked me through them from ordering to food being brought to the table. Had an incredible server whose first question when we ordered GF calamari was: is that an allergy or preference? She knew what celiac was. There were also dairy intolerances at the table and the server checked with the kitchen to confirm what was safe, even identifying butter in the Szechuan sauce! GF & DF dishes were brought to the table by a manager who announced what the dish was before setting it down. Overall excellent experience managing multiple allergies at a group table; great protocols. And the food was great! Had the calamari, lobster rolls on gf slider buns, and fish & chips. All delicious, all safe!

Legal’s is one of the very few places around where all fried food is GF, so eat that calamari and get those fries! Excellent, fresh fish, great service and friendly staff.

Best GF pickle chips I’ve ever had! The GF buns at this location are mini and kind of hard so not the best. I was with 2 friends and all 3 of us ordered the fried fish sandwich (2 gf, 1 regular). They brought the 2 GF ones out and said these are the GF ones and then brought the regular one. All 3 buns looked exactly the same and the GF buns did not look GF to me. Our server took them away and we were brought new GF sandwiches - our server did not bring the food out and also recognized that the buns were not GF. While we waited a manager came over and assured us that she had spoken with the kitchen staff (read yelled) and apologized profusely for non GF dishes being brought out and presented as GF. She also brought us 2 complimentary GF desserts. I was very impressed by the quick response to non GF food being brought out, however, had I not noticed that the buns were not GF and I would have eaten them and gotten sick. (I did not get sick so the replacements were GF) would go back again but double check that everything that comes out is in fact GF.

This is probably one of the best in the area. It’s consistent, they are aware of gluten allergies so that’s always a plus! I come here when I am craving some good seafood. I got gluten free buffalo popcorn shrimp last time and it was delicious. Dedicated fryer too!

Best gluten free rolls I have ever had, what a treat! Lobster roll was amazing, and the popcorn shrimp were fresh, crispy, and flavourful.

Such great food and very accommodating! Gluten and dairy sensitivity due to celiac disease and they where very knowledgeable and wonderful. Best experience I have ever had in a restaurant!!

I have been to the Burlington location and have always had an amazing experience. Decided to try this new location for a change. The server was not knowledgeable at all on gluten free options or handling. Brought out a regular roll and placed it right in front of me then went to another table to take an order, I went to reach for it and she ran over saying it was a regular roll! Later she told me there was only one gluten free option on the menu for dessert which I knew was incorrect as I had been to another location. About 30 minutes after this visit I got violently ill from a gluten contamination!

I spoke with Legal's "safety manager" Marnie about this incident and pretty much was given a song and dance about how they are all trained and she is not sure what happened. She assured me that allergies are important to legal and sent me a $35 complimentary card despite a bill of $150 for that evening.

our daughter is celiac and a very picky 10 year old . They make all gluten free fried foods separately from rest. We tried their french fries, Caesar salad, fried oysters, bread and molten chocolate cake, and our daughter loved all of it. They also offer GF fish sticks. The rest of the food was also excellent: the trout was perfectly grilled. the white sangria and Mexican mule were nicely prepared and nicely sized too. excellent place for GF and regular food. a nice stop after a fun afternoon shopping the new outlets at Assembly sq. in sommerville.

Great new place! Most of their menu items can be made GF. The fried seafood was delicious. They even brought out GF rolls. I really felt like the waiter and manager cared about my allergy. I will be back!

New place of the Legal Seafood Chain .located the new assembly Square mall area! Staff manager very knowledge all the gluten-free menu. This restaurant I was told by the manager all the flower is gluten-free. Best seafood . Beer Vodka

Amazing! Had an entire gf fisherman’s platter. (Share this with others - it is gigantic!) separate fryer, knowledgeable staff, entire menu is marked and almost everything can be gf!

The menu is extra clear with what is gluten free or not. The fry batter used is totally gluten free, and the serving staff is wicked conscious of allergens. Upon alerting the staff of the severe allergy, they took extra note and had the chef who prepared the meal bring the gf plate out. Their caution paid off as I did not get sick afterwards.
