Very attentive to my gluten free and tree nuts free needs.

The pizza was good, but in all honesty, not worth the hype. I didn’t get sick though, and they took proper precaution.

No problem with cross-contact or illness, we just HATED the GF thin-crust. It was like a super crunchy cracker and we couldn't even bite into the edges. Bleh! No thank you!

Waited more than an hour for my pizza and got REALLY sick. For sure cross contaminated. I only recommend going there if you have a gluten intolerance, because if you’re celiac, you’re gonna get contaminated.

We ordered our pizza to go, when we got back to our hotel my crust of my pizza was burnt. But… the bottom of my pizza was rubber looking and not cooked all the way. I was extremely disappointed as we had heard great things.

While happy to get deep dish pizza, there is a large mix of pros and cons. The crust wasn’t cooked at the way, which was odd since we waited about an hour for our food. Staff didn’t pay attention when I mentioned gluten allergy, so while I didn’t get sick, I was pretty concerned about it. Overall, just a so-so experience.

It was so yummy. We did have to wait a bit but it was worth it and totally understandable. Our server was very kind about being gluten free and made sure to let the kitchen know I was gluten free. He also made sure to use different serving spatulas for my pizza.

I had deep dish ,the Lou, with a gf crust. I would say it was meh. No sauce and the cheese was not great and very dry. Salad was great with signature dressing. Quite expensive for just me my meal was $40 with a salad and soda. I ate half and couldn't bring it home so... costly. The bathroom was really dirty. I would not really recommend but if you need a pizza fix. Go ahead.

Honestly had a bad experience here. We went during prime lunch time and waited about 40 min for our pizza (not the worst thing ever and I understand they were busy). But when the pizza came the server brought me deep dish after I told him twice I want thin crust. I also told him I had an allergy. He used the tool to grab the pizza on my family's pizza first and then proceeded to use the same thing on mine. So basically cross contaminated right in front of me. I asked for the correct pizza and explained why I couldn't eat that pizza. It took another 25 minutes. The server clearly wasn't listening cause he messed up a few other things with my family's food. The pizza was honestly not that great. Not horrible but not worth the price and waiting an hour and a half. They did comp the pizza which was nice.

The crust was okay but the toppings were amazing! Felt very safe eating here and didn’t get sick after. It’s really nice to have this really popular restaurant that you can bring people to while still feeling safe with your own food.

Deep pizza is gluten free and celiac friendly. Both waitress and manager came to talk to me to guarantee that there was no cross contamination for this type of pizza.
For other type of pizzas (thin crust) there is no guarantee of avoiding cross contamination.

Knowledgeable staff and seemed to take reasonable precautions. I got the deep dish original and it was meh. Not the worst crust I ever had but certainly not the best.

This place was amazing and made us gluten and dairy free Chicago style deep dish pizzas! They said their goal is to provide as close to the same experience for those with allergies. We greatly appreciated this experience!!

GF deep dish pizza that tasted just like the regular deep dish pizzas I ordered pre-diagnosis! When I ordered, staff told me that they would put in an allergy flag to ensure a glove change, separate knife and prep space, etc. They use separate pans for GF pizzas, and I felt fine after. Stars off because this location is crowded and touristy (call ahead to get on the wait list), and paint inside the gf pizza pan appeared to be flaking off (didn’t spot any on our food, so we decided to go ahead anyway 😬). Service was fast and staff were very responsive.
I’d go back!

5 stars for LM gluten-free deep dish pizza. The crust was good, selections were good, and our server was very helpful in making gf choices. And a very attractive historical restaurant as well. Much thanks to Lou Malnati's.

The most delicious gf pizza I’ve had in 15 years. Highly recommend. They took precautions and confirmed that my pizza would be prepared safely.

We ordered carryout last weekend. The GF was excellent. I did not have any reaction to it. I highly recommend you order it baked longer. It was just a tad underdone.

Hands down the best GF pizza I’ve ever had!! I cannot even remember the last time I got a deep dish pizza. Mind blown! I was concerned about cross contamination but the manager and waiter both assured me of safety procedures in the kitchen. Felt great after and the next few days!

They offer a thin, thick or a crust less option. The crust less is an experience. Try it as the Lou!

I ordered the deep dish Chicago classic gluten free pizza. After reading all the reviews I was super excited to get this. However, the crust was terrible. I opted to not get the crust less pizza because I’m not a huge fan of sausage. The crust was so hard and bland. And the middle of the crust was doughy as if it hadn’t been cooked. I’m not sure how they managed to overcook yet undercook a crust. The flavors were good though. But definitely won’t be coming back.

We went here already knowing they had gluten free items so we preordered and got the crustless pizza (sausage pizza) and the gluten free deep dish pizza. The pizza dough tasted more like sourdough but it was great finally having a deep dish option! Definitely recommend!!

Delicious! I asked the server to talk to the chef and manager and ensure that the meal was treated as an extreme wheat allergy, the food tasted great and I didn’t get sick. As far as the food goes, there was a perfect sauce to crust ratio, crust was harder/crunchier than expected but it didn’t take away from the delicious flavour. I would return.
Yes
As a GF person, having a pizza that’s not a cracker crust is a treat in and of itself, let alone getting to have Chicago deep dish. Each time I’ve been they’ve been cautious and I’ve never felt sick after eating. A little bit pricey but worth it for something you don’t get very often!

Welp I thought this place was celiac safe but definitely not. I had light symptoms on the first time eating it so wasn’t sure but then ate it again the next day. Usually takes a day for my symptoms to hit. Not a good day. Haven’t felt like this in 6 months 😩

gluten free, thin crust is our favorite and it’s celiac friendly. You just have to tell them you have an allergy my daughter and my husband have never had a problem and now they have a deep dish gluten-free. We would like to try.
