Wasn’t a fan of the gf pizza at all. Not exactly sure what the hype is all about. I felt safe ordering and their knowledge of cooking GF, but was annoyed when they brought out the pizza that it was stacked very near gluten pizza. I wouldn’t return.

I ate here on a recent visit to Asheville after reading good reviews on here, and it was great. The menu clearly talks about gluten free protocols and options, and my server was also knowledgeable (and asked the kitchen and reported back when I asked about a topping she wasn't sure about). The gf crust is very thin and crispy (not my fav, but can't be choosy!) and the toppings were all excellent. Overall such a nice, stress free experience. I love not feeling like I have to do a ton of advocating and explaining to feel safe.

Last week while visiting Asheville I discovered this restaurant.

The gluten free pizza is baked in a separate oven from the gluten containing pizzas.

It was tasty and I felt safe ordering their pizza, which I rarely order out.

Their kitchen is really great about cross-contamination and the servers are very knowledgeable. My daughter loved the pizza and gluten free brownie. We will probably be going back here during our visit in Asheville.

The food was delicious and the waitress was knowledgeable assuring us the gf pizzas are prepared in a dedicated gf area. We got pizzas and salads and my daughter with celiac disease did not get sick at all.

So good! Our waitress was trained well on their precautions and procedures and she was super friendly! I did the build your own pizza and they said they couldn't guarantee that it was completely GF but i had no reaction. The oven-roasted wings were also delicious. Definitely recommend!

Quite busy for lunch and parking is a challenge. But once you get in, the place is great. I had the Gluten free Mighty Meaty pizza and loved it. Plenty to fill up one parson.

So good! It has a cool funky vibe and the staff is so friendly. We shared two of the GF pizzas and they were both excellent. A must try!

Fantastic pizza....Like real good quality ingredients. And I feel fantastic, not a hint of getting gluten. Also, there medium pizzas were large, couldn't eat the whole thing myself.

Enjoyed the chance to get a safely made GF pizza from their separate prep area and oven. Their regular menu doesn't show GF options but their online one does, so go look there to figure out your order or just ask the waitress. Crust was crispy and lots of topping options. It doesn't quite compare to their regular pizza crust, but it was solid. My celiac son enjoyed the BBQ chicken pizza and we all enjoyed the sunny dog-friendly patio!

Server was rude, food was cold and $ for portion size. No GF options listed on menu, but you can ask for the 10 inch GF crust. It came out burnt, hard as a rock and extremely thin. Like a burnt cold pizza cracker. Not good.

My celiac reactions are really severe, so I usually steer clear of restaurants that aren’t 95%-100% gluten free. The risk is just not worth it. But I read a lot of reviews here, especially noting that this place had a whole dedicated gf pizza oven; eventually my longing for pizza won and I nervously gave this place a try. I stressed hard to our waitress about the severity of my celiac symptoms, and she was totally prepared. She told me to steer clear of anything not marked with the gf symbol on the menu, because the items with the gf symbol were always prepped in the dedicated gf area. One time I really wanted to deviate for some fresh basil (not marked gf), and she went back and had the kitchen prep me some in the gf area. I have eaten here about ten times now and I haven’t been glutened once. Everyone is careful. Pizza is back on the menu for me and I am so grateful that Mellow Mushroom goes to such lengths to keep things safe.

Gluten free pizza was okay. They have a separate preparation area for gluten free. The crust was a little soggy but the edges were crispy and good. The service was meh but we ate outside and when we went inside to use the bathroom it was CROWDED. I’m not sure I’d go here again but if your group wants pizza it’s a good option.

Soooooo good! Great local cider selections. Try all of them in a flight. And delicious GF Pizza! I could actually fold the crust and it didn't break. Service was excellent. Will definitely come back here again.

This mellow mushroom does gf pizza better than the one in Raleigh that I frequent. The pizza was crisper, and more like a regular thin crust pizza. Was here over Thanksgiving weekend and even though they were busy service was good and as always the pizza was delicious.

delicious gluten free pizza

I ordered the 12inch gluten free pizza without cheese, caramelized onions, black olives and mushrooms. The pizza was ok and not my favorite dough made from sorghum, amaranth, teff and tapioca flour blend plus xanthum gum as it was a bit chewy. The Angry Orchard cider was good and the service was good too.

Went here with my GF kiddo. The staff was very friendly. Let the server know about the celiac. Told us which of the pizzas were GF. Kiddo decided on plain cheese. We were told they changed gloves, separate oven, etc., for gf. Good experience!
