I got glutened while getting take out. We did mention Celiac and I had eaten here before and thought it would be safe. I was horribly mistaken. Now paying the price.

Really cool place. The food is delicious, and I didn't have any issues with it. If you like high quality Tex-Mex you should try it out.

We have eating there twice and both times I used my NIMA gluten tester. Each time the results came back negative for all the items on my fajitas plate (even the tortilla chips). The manager even explained to us how the white rice is gluten free but not the brown rice. And explained how the two types of rices are prepared. And last time he explained how the gluten free chicken fajitas were prepared. The staff are very considerate and helpful. I would definitely recommend it!

I’ve enjoyed mi cosina in the past, but they’ve recently declined in their gluten free options. They no longer have their gluten free rice nor their gluten free menu. Several sauces have gluten. The food is good, but the options are increasingly limited.

My wife and I place our orders. Our friends(on a double date) place their orders and then and I repeated our order and even said “I know it sounds repetitive but everything must be gluten-free” The waiter confirmed and while we waited we noticed the kitchen staff not wearing masks- a manger yelled at them to put the on and the moment he was gone the masks came back down.

Our waiter came back about 20 minutes later explaining our orders had to be remade as they used the wrong sauce. 5 minutes after that the owner came over, I assume not knowing the waiter had already spoken with us and he gave us a complete different reason- “because it’s Gluten-free, it’s all being made fresh and ‘FROM SCRATCH’”

When the food arrived we were thrilled to finally dig in. However the corn tortillas that made our enchiladas were raw from a bag, and very tough to chew through. Not a person at our table could stomach the meal.

The ambiance and the waiter was great. But the most important aspect of a restaurant is the food -and the entire party of 4 agreed we’ve had better food from a truck and drive thru.

This review is for the Mi Cocina that just opened at the Star in Frisco, TX. Can’t find their page, probably because it’s so new.

I had the chips and salsa and a margarita and have been dealing with joint pain, inflammation, brain fog and irritability all week since having them. I’m talking wrists hurting so bad I couldn’t pick up my phone and after running every day the week before, it’s hard to stand for too long. Judging from the other comments. It had to be the chips. I am gluten intolerant. Normally I’m fine with corn chips at other places despite cross contamination but these got me good.

They tried really hard but I got sick. I believe the chips were the culprit.

The margaritas are excellent, and the chips and queso are safe, which is a huge win. I didn’t like my meal very much honestly (I had the tacos de papa) but I would definitely go back because of how careful they were with avoiding cross contamination!
