Pita Pit

I’ve had one reaction before, but the staff were obviously not educated on GF requirements (they put my GF pita shell on the counter top where all non GF ones were). This was over two years ago and since I’d contacted the store about this issue, it’s been great. I still watch to make sure they are careful, but have been feeling safer and safer each time I go. Also, they will clean the grill if you ask them to.

Very careful with preparing my pita. Always nice to have a pita!

Ordered a garden GF pita, did not have any grilled veggies or get it toasted as I was playing it extremely safe. As a highly symptomatic celiac I asked them to be extra careful of cross contamination, I had it loaded with veggies and honey mustard. No issues at all. Allergens are listed on the website too which is helpful.

The staff was wonderful but I reacted. I think it may be because it is their practice to use the same gloves to handle a wheat wrap and dip into the containers and pick out the vegetables and toppings. So when they were careful with my gluten free wrap- new gloves and new paper under my wrap,all the toppings are already cross contaminated. I’m sorry to say this because this restaurant is my favourite fast food.

The GF Pita Wrap, with all the veggies and black Bean burger (vegan) was very filling, next time I’ll try the GF falafel. They cleaned the grill before cooking my food to avoid cross contamination, they also offered to get veggies from the fridge to also avoid cross contamination. To toast my pita, they wrapped in tin foil to not cause cross contamination. Very friendly staff.

Four of us went. They forgot to make one person’s meal. We had been to a Pitapit in Saint John NB where they brought out special gluten-free separate ingredients. This did not happen in New Minas. While the food was OK two of us had gas for about a week following this experience. our stomachs were bloated and upset.. Would not go again.
