I thought this place was promising based on reviews, noted items on menu, and wait staff knowledge, however I was nearly glutened! I got a salad that was marked gluten free but there was a dime sized piece of bread mixed in the salad! They were apologetic and said they have no idea how it got there due to the “separate” prep spaces, but there was no doubting that piece of bread there. I didn’t end up eating anything because I didn’t trust not to get sick.
Thought this place would be safe based on the website, reviews + calling ahead, but when we got there the waitress told me there is bread “everywhere” in the kitchen. They advertise a separate prep area for gf orders but I was told they use the same panini press and grab from shared toppings. Online menu says cauliflower is gf but I was told it’s fried in a shared fryer. I ended up not getting anything. I’m glad she alerted me but disappointed in the misleading advertising.
Absolutely love this place. Very safe for celiacs! They take allergies and celiac very seriously. They offer gluten free bruschetta, as well as gf bread for paninis. Unlike other gf bread, theres is so soft and tastes so delicious so you’re def not feeling kike you’re missing out. The servers are all knowledgeable and help guide you through the menu. Food came out and they distinguished which was gf and it was fresh and delicious. Highly recommend!
They had a good amount of gluten free options from sandwiches to charcuterie, the gluten free bread was delicious, probably one of the top 5 I’ve had. They also had a gluten free dessert option, creme brûlée which was again amazing and so creamy.
They have gluten free bread and say they take precautions. I asked a lot of questions, and I was hungry enough to make decisions I normally wouldn’t. Did not get gluten sick. I had pesto bruschetta and a salad. I asked for no dressing and it came dressed which made me concerned about how seriously they were taking celiac, and I’m having symptoms from other allergies I think.
I am new and I am still learning what my body can handle and what not. So this is just my experience. We had the roasted potatoes with aeoli on the side.
For dinner I had the skewers. And then I had the Brussels sprout salad. Those options are gluten free.
Because I also have a garlic sensitivity that I am learning about.
At first I was worried about cross contact because I did get sick after eating here. But I think it was the garlic in the salad and the skewers. And so I don’t want to cross this place out!
I LOVE postino and I will be back because I want to see how I can make it work!! I think getting the dressing on the side would have helped so I ate less of the dressing.
I really liked how accommodating they were. They were incredible and I will be back!
