great gluten free bun and loved being able to eat fries at a restaurant again
In the past year I've been to this Red Robin 4 times. The first two visits I would have easily rated this location with five stars. Unfortunately, the two most recent visits have proved the staff either doesn't understand cross contamination or doesn't take it seriously. My visits last month, I got glutened and shook it off as cross contamination as I ordered a burger that I hadn't had previously. Today, I ordered the California chicken wrap that I had eaten safety the first two times I visited. I asked the waitress twice if the fry vat was dedicated and both times she verified that nothing breaded goes into the dedicated fryer. I was told my food would be prepared in a dedicated food allergy area in their kitchen. My food was brought out on a platter on its dedicated plate along with three other meals sandwiched around it. I ate half of my fries in excitement that I was eating gluten free fries! Then what should I behold in the bottom of the container, a breaded jalapeño. The waitress and manager again stated my food was prepared in their allergy safe area. They have no idea how that jalapeño got in my fries, because they were prepared in a dedicated fryer. The manager offered to have a new meal prepared for me. Pointless, as I have to deal with the consequence for the next week. They did give me my meal for free.
Many Gluten free options and a dedicated fryer! Yea! I always am very clear with the waitress that I have an allergy to gluten, and that I'm not on some fad diet... And that I will get sick with a tiny crumb. So I was happy to eat safe here.
I have had a consistent good experience at Red Robin. Knowledgeable staff and LOVE that I can have a burger ON A BUN...and fries! I do have Celiac and am extremely sensitive and have never had a reaction. They do have a dedicated fryer for their fries.
Wonderful service and wide selection. However, cross contamination occurred and I got very ill. I specified gluten free, ordered from the GF menu, and still got sick.
Called ahead of time to make sure they have dedicated fryer for their fries. Manager was very informative about their food prep. Was told the manager takes care of the order from start to finish. Ordered off the gluten free app which we downloaded in the restaurant. Grilled chicken was good and our daughter chose fruit instead of fries. The server was knowledgable about gluten and manager did bring the food out. Overall very impressed with how well they handled everything. We did choose to go in at 5:00 before they got busy. Highly recommend.
Very friendly and accommodating staff. When I asked the hostess about gluten free buns and a dedicated fryer for the fries, she told me she was Celiac and recommended her favoeite meal. Upon ordering, my server asked if it was a preference or for health reasons. When I told her it was for health reasons, she said my meal would be prepared separately and brought out separately so there wouldn't be any cross contamination. The manager brought my food out and reassured me that it was prepared separately. I will definitely be back on my next trip to Northern KY.
Excellent service and they knew their gf options! Comprehensive allergy menu. Second trip and now they even have gluten free buns and fries. Awesome!
The staff at this location is excellent. They are always very careful after I tell them I can't have gluten due to Celiac Disease. I normally order their chicken sandwich on a gf bun with fries (they are cooked in a separate frier) and it is delicious! I eat there all the time and haven't had any reactions.
I was given a dirty spoon with unidentified food on it from a previous customer IN my root beer float. My fiancé got sick from that. I don’t know if it was gluten sick or food poisoning sick. Their bathrooms reek of vomit. There are vomit puddles outside their door. I don’t trust that their food is safe. I won’t be back.
I eat here a couple times a month, always tell the server I️ have to eat GF, and have never been glutened here. I like the choice of GF sides, from fries and sweet potato fries to veggies and cole slaw. The burgers are tasty, with an option to lettuce wrap or get in a Udi’s bun.

Most of the times it’s very good there. The wait staff my night be as educated about the importance of gluten allergies but as long as you say it the kitchen does a good job. They do have steak fries that are made in separate fryers, but you have to ask them for those as the regular fries are not. All in all I go here fairly often and I really enjoy the burgers.
Red Robin has the best gluten free buns, and their burgers are amazing. But be sure to check your food if you’re ordering to go because they have given me a regular bun two times. But they will remake it and they even remade my fiancé’s so it wouldn’t be cold.
Gluten free options online, no menu in store. Any burger can be done gluten free. Side options are broccoli, apple slices, yam fries and steak cut fries (even though it's not listed on their website). Very knowledgable staff.
They have an interactive menu that lists all ingredients for every item. You have to bounce between the regular menu for the description and the interactive to get the full picture though. Fries are done in separate fryer per corporate policy. The server at this location indicated there was a separate prep area for "allergy orders".
Ordered the lettuce wrap burger to go, was clear that I was on the gluten free diet, and they said no problem and fries would also be gluten free. Got home, opened the package, and the burger was on a regular wheat bun! The outside of the package even said lettuce wrap burger. That's not good...
I’ve been to other RRs in different states and never had a problem but this location wasn’t the best. The GF bun on my burger was tough for some reason but doable and they never got my fries correct. Normally when I order GF fries they come without the seasoning salt and I just have to put that on myself at the table but both times I ordered my fries they had seasoning salt on them and smelt of fried food (like fried breaded chicken fingers) so I didn’t eat them. Not sure if the GF fries use a dedicated fryer or not but when they were seasoned and smelt weird I decided to play it safe and not eat them, bummer.
I am gluten intolerant and this was the most pleasant place I have ever experienced in my 3 years of being gluten free. I got a chicken sandwich with no sauce and a gluten free bun. I got sweet potato fries and enjoy ever bit of it! The bun wasn’t dry like other places. I give it an A+! The waitress was very accommodating and knowledgeable. Loved the allergen iPad that they give you to pick your menu items. Unfortunately it was a pretty pricey meal for our budget for a family of four but it will be our go-to for a special treat!
For years they were great, and then twice in a row (yes, even with server aware and manager involvement) there was a macaroni noodle in the chili. The fries have always been great. The burgers I would say are still ok. I will never trust their chili again though.
They have many options including a gluten free bun. Love the dedicated fryer for French fries. My son and I have eaten here and had take out many times and haven’t gotten sick. Nice to have a place you can feel comfortable eating at. They also have online ordering with curbside pick up.
I called to speak with someone about ordering gluten and dairy free and the person on the phone stated they didn't know what that meant and they didn't have a gluten free menu. When i stated that it lists online that they can accommodate they said "oh, then i guess we will figure it out." No thanks.
Yay! Separate fryer for gluten free fries and yummy protein style burger. Server understood the allergy no problem. I'm not a fan of gluten free buns but they offer them as well.
very good gluten free bun. But you have to be Very clear that you want gluten free. Simply asking for gluten free burger, gluten free bun, gluten free fries and salad w/o crutons isn't clear enough. You may wind up with breaded fried jalapenos on your burger instead of fresh. Or worse, a regular bun.
They provide an iPad that is interactive to filter out or suggest modifications to meet allergens identified. I had the Marco Polo which is a grilled chicken sandwich but added a GF bun. Also have a dedicated fryer on request for GF fries. I'm celiac and no issues with cross contamination.

Ask for their GF menu and they'll give you an iPad that filters their menu by allergy (i.e. Gluten in my case). You can also do the same direct from their website. I am told if you say you are GF, they push a button in the kitchen that turns on a light to notify cooks that a GF meal has been ordered. They have a pretty decent GF bun for their burgers which make most of their menu doable. In my experience the wait staff has never been knowledgeable hence the 4 star but there is corporate push from the top which gives us these options and I am appreciative of that.
They used to be really great about cross-contamination, but seem to have gotten lax in recent years. I got horribly glutened tonight.
This place has not been celiac friendly in my experience. I have gone twice and both times I got glutened. I wasn’t sure after the first time, but when I experienced the same symptoms after the second time, I knew it was from here. I think the fries were okay since they used a separate fryer. It was probably the burger.
We have been able to eat here for a while now. It's our go-to for a burger. The bun is a good one and I like having vegetables and other options for side than just fries. When you ask for gf sweet potato fries they are really good but they don't have the seasoning the regular ones do so if you are transitioning you might be disappointed at first.
