I normally have no trouble at Red Robin restaurants, given that they use a tablet to help you identify menu items without certain allergens. Today, however, I either got confused or their app was inaccurate. When I checked "gluten" as an allergen, certain foods were eliminated from my potential choices. But, when I also selected "wheat" as an allergen, more foods were eliminated. That would seem to suggest that there are some menu items containing wheat but not gluten. That doesn't seem correct. Nevertheless, I went with my gut feeling (no pun intended), and everything was fine. I had the Chili Chili Cheeseburger and gluten free fries, and I was completely fine.
Red Robin has gluten-free buns for their burgers. Many locations also have dedicated fryers for gluten free-fries. Please verify with your server.
Excellent experience, when I arrived the host explained to me my GF options and that the fries were cooked in a separate frier. When I asked for an egg on my burger the server said he would make sure the kitchen cooked that for me on a clean grill. Couldn’t ask for better really and the food tasted great!
Hamburger with Gluten Free Bun. Gluten Free Fries. The manager brings out the gluten free items and it has a purple plastic pick in it to reaffirm it is gluten free. I still ask every time to confirm that the bun is gluten free and fries as well. Website is very helpful and detailed.
I do eat here sometimes only because of a lack of other options locally. However, you have to check every ingredient on your food, every time. I always get the bonzai burger and garlic fries. I make them aware of the allergy every time. About half the time it still comes out with the teriyaki sauce on it, even though I tell them it's gluten. Be prepared to have to send your food back and be okay with it. They are completely unaware.
