Knowledgeable staff and great food. No dedicated fryer but plenty of options. Even had a Holidaily beer!

Some menu items were labeled GF. The waitress was very knowledgeable about celiac and cross contamination and gave more options that were safe but not labeled on the menu. The chef even came out to confirm my order and said he’d toast my GF bun in the oven. This was one of my favorite restaurants in Breckenridge before my celiac diagnosis and I’m so glad I could still enjoy it.

The menu has wings marked as gluten free so we went and I was planning on having wings and a salad. When I asked if the wings were GF the waiter said “no, because they are cross contaminated in the fryer.”Really?!?!?! How the heck can they mark it GF? Wrong! I was so disappointed.

Decent food. American bar style. Had GF bun options, not clear on fryer exclusivity but sons with gluten had no reaction.

Had high hopes as the menu was clearly marked with GF options. Knew the risks of cross contamination and that was also clearly marked marked on the menu. Ordered the Roasted Red Pepper Bisque. Told the waitress I had a gluten allergy, not a preference. She acknowledged me and took note. Expediters brought our meals. There were pita chips on the plate as well as the soup spoon. I immediately ask if they were pita chips and said that generally they are not gluten free and I would need a new dish entirely because of cross contact. He apologized and took the plate to have it corrected. Another waitress, not ours, took the plate from him and brought it back to the table. She stated that it was gluten free bisque with gluten free pita chips. In my opinion she had a bad attitude about, but others at the table felt her tone was one of certainty. I used the spoon covered in pita chips and also ate a small pita chip. I didn’t feel right about it, so i stopped eating them. When I was almost finished our waitress came to the table and apologized about my order. She stated they did not ever have gluten free pita chips to her knowledge. I looked at the menu again, the bisque is marked GF and does not mention pita chips. Another dish which comes with pita chips is not marked as GF. Our waitress went to verify with the kitchen. She informed us that nowhere on the pita chip bag does it say gluten free. I explained my situation as a celiac and that this was not something to be taken lightly. They removed my order from the bill. As we left, I felt it was necessary to let the waitress with such certainty know how important it is to verify ingredients. To be polite, she was more defensive that receptive. Please take extreme caution if choosing to eat here. While the food was delicious it was too much of a risk. I am already experiencing symptoms.

Things on the menu are labeled “can be made gf”, but when I asked I was told everything shares prep and cooking space. So everything is cross contaminated. I ended up not being able to order anything while my friends ate. (My friends were all disappointed with their food in general).

Loved this place. Great atmosphere and GF items clearly marked on menu. Knowledgeable server as well. The chips and queso were GF and some of the best I've ever had.

My family had a great experience at Canteen. Our server was very knowledgeable about what my son could and could not eat. The burger and chili my son chose were delicious, and he had no reaction to the food. The rest of the family enjoyed their food and adult beverages. We look forward to returning soon!

My son (age 10) has Celiac and he loved the food here. He ordered a burger w/o bun (they do offer a Gf bun) and a side of green chili. He is sensitive and gets sick if he eats gluten and he had no issues. The manager waited on us and she was very knowledgeable about cross contamination and the difference between being GF by preference and having Celiac. Please note: She warned us that several of the items on the menu (like fries) are labeled GF but they are cooked in the same fryer as gluten foods so are not safe for people with Celiac. I always ask about these things anyways but it was nice that she could offer that information before I asked.

Gluten free bun was amazing! (W/the bison Honeydew burger)
Very misleading! Wings and fries are labeled gluten free on the menu but they share the same frier as breaded foods. They do have gf buns for burger and sandwiches.
We love their burgers!!
Servers were great! Very knowledgeable and helpful!!!!
This restaurant was outstanding. My son has celiac disease. The waitress showed him everything he could have. He had the ribs, and since he couldn't have the fries, she brought him out tortilla chips that were from a gluten free plant! Great experience. Would definitely go back again.
I had amazing ribs here that were g free and I also had several other items w no issue. Food is amazing and service was great! I have Celiac and did not have a reaction here. They are also getting more g free beer options soon.

Awesome drinks. Check with the waitress because the menu marks things that are GF that go in the same fryer as breaded items. Fries and tortilla chips not GF but the chili is amazing and they do have GF buns for sandwiches and burgers.
