Gf “french toast” isn’t really french toast. it’s just toasted gf bread with toppings. Fries and hash browns aren’t gf either because of cross contamination.

After a couple of expensive, mediocre meals in Savannah I was so pleased to find this restaurant. Went for Saturday brunch and I had the morrocan scramble made with gluten free toast which was yummy. Went back again today and had the AvoSmash, again on gluten free bread. It’s a little noisy inside, but nice atmosphere, and both waiters we had were great. My husband is not gluten free. He enjoyed the Short Rib and Upstream Supreme. I have a gluten intolerance, not Celiac, so I’m not sure about cross contamination.

I had the seasonal French toast with fresh berries. It was excellent and the server was knowledgeable and Assured me of safe practices (change gloves, clean pan, etc). There is also an option of a quinoa bowl, and he said eggs Benedict with shaved ribeye was also an option.

Have been here for brunch but Stopped by for dinner tonight. (Be sure to make reservations if you want to eat inside. We didnt have and thus were seated outside which was fine as it was a beautiful evening). As others have mentioned- there is no gf menu nor gf notations HOWEVER server was extremely knowledgeable and went through menu item by item letting us know what they could (or could not) do gf. No separate fryer. But he offered gf bread with some of the apps. (Did not Try so cant offer opinion) We settled upon the prawns app and then the salmon entree Very good. Nice wine list. Would recommend.

Almost every dish on the breakfast options can be made with GF option. Jessica, our waiter, was super helpful in explaining all of this to us.

I was really excited to eat here since getting diagnosed with celiac because of all of the food reviews i’ve seen but unfortunately I can’t say my experience was amazing. the staff were wonderful and super understanding and helpful when I asked about their accommodations. I got the french toast which they said they could accommodate with their gluten free bread. After seeing the reviews and photos I was super excited but when I got the French toast it was literally just toasted bread with the toppings on it. When i asked about why there was no egg wash they said that it wasn’t possible for them to safely cook the toast without it being cross contaminated. I appreciate their effort in limiting cross contamination but that makes me extremely confused then when it comes to everyone else getting actual french toast. Clearly there is some sort of confusion between the staff and the chefs but they shouldn’t be giving people with gluten allergies different outcomes. Maybe I was just unlucky but something about this experience doesn’t sit right with me.

Had shrimp and grits that were absolutely amazing! Our waiter Eli, was fantastic in describing all of their GF options along with the awareness and precautions taken in the kitchen. For sure a great experience and hands down, the BEST waiter I’ve ever had!

The menu is marked with what contains gluten and dairy, they have gluten-free bread so the sandwiches and other breakfast items can be made GF. I got the avocado toast (asked to toast separately in the oven not a shared toaster) and it was amazing! No reactions 🙌

Loved the vibe here! Very accommodating for gluten sensitive and dairy sensitive. Went there twice for dinner and had the rusted zucchini n added scallops, then tried the dairy free risotto dish that was really good but very peppery. Service was amazing with Caitlyn who remember Ed all our preferences and orders from 4 nights previous! Best food experience of my stay here!

9-2022. I liked this place so well, I went twice during my stay in Savannah. I was at the downtown location. Had French toast the first morning. Was very nice to have that treat. Server seemed knowledgeable and answered all my questions. Had the breakfast club the following morning. Server was not patient with my questions. She even walked away during us talking, but returned. I felt her rolling her eyes. I was asking normal questions such as do you have a dedicated fryer. Is the mayonnaise gluten free? The servers here and other places need to be trained better for patience and to know we’re just trying to eat safely. No dedicated fryer. Substituted delicious fruit. Sandwich was good.

This restaurant has two locations in Savannah, and I ate safely at both, despite having celiac disease. Unfortunately, there aren’t a lot of GF items on the menu, but I had the Roasted Salmon for dinner at their downtown location, and a couple days later I had the Shrimp and Grits at their Forsyth Park location. The salmon didn’t need to be modified, but a sprinkling of fried shallots had to be left off the Shrimp and Grits to make it GF. Both dishes were quite good. As you might imagine, the Forsyth Park location has an excellent outdoor seating area.

Was delicious! No separate menu for gf but the staff very knowledgeable. My husband and I split the salmon & scallops. The salmon was served with a sauce with onions and was yummy. Waitress suggested scallops served with hummus for gf - was yummy!

We went for our anniversary dinner and it was amazing! Our server was extremely knowledgeable and asked if I had celiac disease. She suggested changes in the entrees to make them safe. I had scallops and swapped roasted cauliflower for the bulgar. My husband had the short ribs. The food was incredible! For dessert she offered us an ice cream with espresso as a GF option and it was wonderful. We're going back for brunch after reading all the reviews here.

We went for breakfast on our second morning in Savannah and while it was very busy, we were seated right away. It's a beautiful location right next to Forsyth park. The bananas foster french toast was perfect and we also enjoyed the Thai iced coffee. A lot of yummy choices, should have anything you're in the mood for. 5/5 ⭐Highly recommended if you are in Savannah. Has gluten free options. My Wife has ciliac and she ordered the GF banana fosters French toast with no ill effects. I would recommend this place to anyone on the fence. Definitely worth the wait...which wasn't long at all considering it was a day after new years 2023.

We have been here twice. Last year (2021) we came while on vacation and my husband (the Celiac) got the breakfast sandwich on their GF bread. We stressed GF needs to the waitress and she was super helpful, and we had a lovely experience.
This year (2022) we came back to kick off our vacation with that same breakfast sandwich. We told the waitress he had Celiac, so we needed the gluten-free bread, and to please follow allergy precautions. It was super tasty just like last year, and we considered coming back again during our trip for that breakfast sandwich...until the glutening symptoms kicked in after leaving the restaurant.
I can't tell you how disappointing it has been for both of us that we began our vacation with this place, now that he's been sick for the past few days and we've had to cancel other vacation plans so he could stay at the Airbnb to deal with nausea, fatigue, crippling anxiety, and awful heartburn, all thanks to gluten. My advice is to learn how to make a breakfast sandwich at home, drive an hour to a dedicated GF facility if you need to, or to go here with extreme caution and grill the waitress EXTENSIVELY about cross contact before you consume anything (we are guessing they used the regular toaster). I guess our guard was down after a good experience last time, but saying "gluten allergy" should've been enough for this not to have happened. We probably won't be back after this.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE GETTING GLUTENED. This was a few years ago, so I hope they’ve fixed the issue…. But I spoke with my server TWICE to ensure what I was ordering was GF and she insisted it was and that she verified with the kitchen (this was not true). I ate my entire dish and when I got back to the Airbnb I threw up and had diarrhea for 9 hours straight. I threw up blood and slept on the bathroom floor. It was the worst gluten-ing I’ve had and I ended up going to the hospital when I got back. The restaurant apologized and sent me a check reimbursing me for the meal plus an extra $50 but I should have pursued a lawsuit. Stay away or if you go—speak to a manager.

The waiter warned me that they have a very small kitchen and did not seem confident that they could keep my meal truly safe. I've been before and all other staff seemed confident of the protocols. I have never gotten sick after eating here. I've eaten here when I'm joining for work lunches and would personally choose a place where I feel fully confident if dining on my own. I'm always a little nervous here. The food and coffees are both fabulous.

The food was great. The service was amazing. They took care of my two kids who are allergic to wheat, eggs, nuts and fish in a way that no one felt awkward. One of my kids ordered a burger and they had gluten free, egg free bun. My other daughter ordered any Strip and frites with hollandaise. Both enjoyed. It was also the first restaurant on this trip that we could have an appetizer. Beef tartar tostada was impeccable. Highly recommend

Ate brunch at the site in the park. Great GF avocado toast and raspberry French toast and bacon. It doesn’t look like UDi’s bread. No idea how safe it is or how much else is really on the menu but that was great. No omlettes. Nice and large outdoor seating with heaters if it’s cool.

I had the avocado smash on Udi’s GF bread and a beet salad. Very tasty and no reaction!!
Yes
Ate there last night after usual research, but only about half the dinner options could be modified to make them gf, and the menu was pretty small to begin with. I was getting sick and having a reaction before we were through the appetizer. I was assured our picks were gf, but there must have been cross contamination in the kitchen. Might be ok place for someone that doesn’t need the epi pen if they get exposed, but I do so I won’t go back.
Yummy gf bread I had the avacado smash it was excellent!
Knowledgable staff. GF bread available. Food is delicious and menu easily modifiable to suit GF tastes. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Coffee & Tea selections are amazing.
