I had a margarita on the rocks and beef tacos that were ok but not anything to write home about. The beans, however, were delicious. I ordered GF and stated I had celiac. Unfortunately, by the time I left, I felt bloated like I’d experienced cross contamination. We had high hopes that day we visited (2/24/2018), but we won’t be back.
Great place to eat with many gluten free options. All the desserts offered today were gluten free as well.
This has become my go to lunch spot when I travel to the Galleria area in business. Inventive menu and rock solid on safety.

Great place to go and the staff are very knowledgable with gluten free information. Selection is also really good like others have said. The ingredients are also really fresh and can really taste it!
Celiac Review: Eat here with No Fear! Absolutely Amazing! Our server Joe from LA was top notch! His knowledge and care of my food was above and beyond! Everyone enjoyed their meals! 10 STARS! Hummus was delicious! I had the Shrimp GF Panang Curry, Hubby had the GF Marg Pizza and Dad had GF Chopped Chicken Salad. Everyone was impressed! So nice to be able to enjoy and meal and not worry about getting sick or cross contamination!

One of my favorite places. Always has plenty of gf choice and always a gf desert that isn't just ice cream! If they have the fruit tarte...DO IT!!!!

Omg it is good! The girls had the grilled chicken with watermelon and corn. My husband had the curry and it was mild. I had the spaghetti squash casserole with grilled chicken. We all had honey lemonade. And we are having the lemon chia cake for dessert. Awesome options!
AWESOME gf choices on their menu! I try to get something different every time I go but the Panang Chicken Curry soup ALWAYS just screams to me from the menu! I get it without rice to cut the carbs. I have had the spaghetti squash spaghetti and loved it. We had a waiter once tell us that the dessert that's tart and has buckthorne was one that was always being sent back as people don't really like it. Well I tried it on the next visit anyway and LOVED it! I'm more of a 'tart' flavor person, and the coconut whipped cream on it YUMMM!!!! My favorite dessert ever! My guys always get the no-grain chocolate cake a la mode. It's pretty darned good, especially if you are a chocolate person! (I'm not so much) Most of the staff is somewhat cordial, we seem to notice that there is kind of an air of stand-offishness or lacking enthusiasm with most of the waitstaff we've experienced (not tons of smiling - and the last time we kept having to flag our waiter down because he was busy chatting with the other servers instead of checking on us - the time before that they kept forgetting to bring my fresh juice and it wasn't busy but they did not charge me for it due to the wait). Not sure if it's an individual personality thing or just an untrained wait staff, where costumer service is concerned. They need to step up the friendliness factor in this part of town. Not sure if it's the time we go, or what, but we've never waited more than a few minutes to be seated. Despite the lackadaisical attitude of the waitstaff, we love this place and their awesome menu and we keep going back. The rating is for their menu and actual food.
Awesome food! A friend and I went for the first time. We were impressed from the ambience, the waitstaff, to the fresh food. We had the Spontaneous Happiness drink and enjoyed it with our starter: Edemame Dumplings that melted in your mouth. Entrees: Red Curry Shrimp noodles and Chicken and Sausage Pizza -- delicious!! Dessert: Super Berry tart with a buckthorn antioxidant- very refreshing! Thanks to our waiter Joseph who recommend all of the items! You will not be disappointed!

Food was great and seasonal! Lots of variety, including the GF options, which is always exciting and overwhelming as someone with celiac. Waitress was knowledgeable, nice, and accommodating. I was informed they are familiar with cross contamination, have a separate fryer, a GF pizza dough option, and that man gluten dishes could be made GF.
Ate here once a couple weeks ago. They were incredibly busy for being early evening, which made me nervous. Menu isn’t huge in general, so limited GF options. They did understand my needs due to Celiac & mentioned the precautions they use. Pricey for what you get. Chia Seed Pudding was delicious though.

Staff was extremely knowledgeable about cross contamination and their gf items were clearly labeled. They assured and reassured me that they’d change gloves, ensure clean surfaces, no fillers in their sauces, etc. Unfortunately although I felt great about my order, it tested positive w/ the Nima and I couldn’t eat. Thankful to have been spared a painful glutening but sad to see that even w/ all their assurances of a safe meal, gluten was still detected. Our waiter was very apologetic and seemed embarrassed at the fact that although the manager came and apologized, he didn’t give a discount or comp my husband’s meal or even offer a different plate even though I had to sit there unable to eat. I asked them to remove my plate off the bill and they did. Sad experience overall for someone w/ Celiac but thankful for my Nima.
Never have an issue here and I’m a very sensitive Celiac. I was told, however, not to order the pizza because it is cooked/prepared on the same surface as the regular pizza. Everything else is clearly marked and they even have gf dessert!
A little on the pricey/trendy side, but dang is their food good. The menu is clearly marked with what is gf. Their gf pita is on point. This place has a healthy vibe, but if that’s not your thing don’t be wary, because the food is so tasty.
SO AMAZING! They have plenty of gf options... including desserts and the staff is so knowledgeable. I was even able to eat there on my whole30!! I have celiac and am highly sensitive; have eaten there 3 times now without the slightest problem and the staff is so kind and understanding.. not awkward at all. such a great experience.
Food was good and gluten free items are labeled on the menu. Staff is very knowledgeable, but my charred cauliflower appetizer did come back gluten positive on my Nima Sensor. Manager was very nice and had it remade “correctly.” Also had their pad Thai, and nothing I ended up eating made me sick.
OMG THIS PLACE IS A HIDDEN GEM of this app bc it was crowded but their food is AMAZING. Totally celiac safe, this is the kind of place that knows what they are doing. All the staff were knowledgable and had menu items marked. However they can also make other items gluten free through modification. They have gluten free pizza crust and pita as well as buns and bread. This was our first time there but true food kitchen has already made it to my list of all time favorite restaurants (which is EXTREMELY selective let me assure you). they have a ton of dairy, vegetarian, vegan and of course gluten free options. But whether you are a die-hard carnivore who believes vegans are a blight on this planet to an exclusively raw food proponent, there is something at true food kitchen for you. I had the phanaeng curry with chicken and a chance to sample the entrees of my dining mates, the Moroccan chicken and inside out quinoa burger. We also ordered the cauliflower appetizer I forget what the exact name was. All three were excellent. I would order the curry again right now even though I am so full I doubt I’d be able to keep anything down to be frank. Anyways phanaeng curry was an infinity-out-of-ten, the Moroccan chicken was excellent as well, I didn’t think it was good as the curry but still the kind of dish that changes your life. The quinoa burger was phenomenal as well. The cauliflower starter had some sort of sauce and it was partially blackened and on the same level as the curry, which again has made it to my list of all time favorites. Finally, as the culmination to a heavenly, otherworldly experience, we had for dessert the squash pie and a blueberry muffin with ice cream. The squash pie was amazing. Enough said. I wanted to rewind my life after I ate it so I could eat it again. And again. And again. We will 100% be back, probably tomorrow for brunch if I can convince my family to go. If you haven’t tried this place, you HAVE TO GO. there are so many menu options in all different sorts of cultures and cuisines and as a celiac it’s amazing that places like this exist.
The food itself was really tasty, but I did get glutened by the quinoa burger. I think this is probably a wonderful place if you’re avoiding gluten for intolerance reasons or as a personal choice - they have a lot of fun health food options on the menu and the staff is so sweet and friendly - but celiac folks, especially the super sensitive, should probably grab a bite elsewhere. 😕
1st visit to KOP True Food Kitchen but have always had great experience at other TFK’s in Scottsdale and Fairfax. Only thing missing on the their menu was a Bison option to add to entrees. I had the GF fish(Bass) tacos. Would have give 5star but service was slow even for the appetizers which included a side of roasted carrots and GF minestrone soup.
Super knowledgeable. Tons of menu is naturally gluten free. Very popular and good to have a ressie. Love this for celiac.
Waitress knew about GF needs when I asked questions. She did say all pizzas are cooked in the same oven. (Not sure if it’s a convection oven). I ordered the charred cauliflower appetizer. Very light and good with a slight hint of lime. I had a fish taco and a steak tacos. (Order tacos and you get two - fish or steak or both) Came with a side of baked beans in a cup. Came with sour cream and avocado and shredded cabbage on a GF shell. They don’t offer sodas but offer drinks such as a squeezed apple drink which I had. Very good! Had a flourless chocolate dessert also very good!
The absolute best for GF. Roughly 30% of their menu is gluten free, and most of their dishes can be made so on request. They also asked me if my gluten free request was a preference of an allergy - and I formed me that as it was for an allergy, they would alert the chefs so strict gf procedures could be followed. I had the charred cauliflower, the shrimp curry, and the squash pie for dessert. Everything was amazing and I’m so so thrilled to have found a restaurant that takes gf so seriously.
So many gf options (much more than is noted on the menu, tbh) and I've yet to have a server who wasn't super caring and on top of it. Plus, a manager usually walks the food out when I've told them I have celiac to answer any questions and ensure the food is safe.
I had Roasted Cauliflower, Roasted Heirloom Carrots, Fish Tacos (sea bass). My husband and I shared 2 desserts: flourless chocolate cake and squash pie. Everything was so fresh and delicious. The desserts were sweet but not heavily laden atih sugar. They have many GF options that are clearly marked on the menumMy belly was happy and calm after this meal and I woke up feeling great...a clear sign that I wasn't glutened unintentionally.Highly recommend.
I've eaten here twice & had reactions both times. I gave it another shot due to such rave reviews & now I'm sitting here in pain and wishing I never had! If you are celiac/ sensitive to cross contamination I would avoid it. There are so many great places to eat in San Diego that are safe!
