One of my favorite places to eat! They take allergies very seriously and are always helpful whenever I ask about how things are cooked. I’ve had multiple kinds of pizza, hummus & guac with gf pita, salad, blueberry pancakes, the flourless chocolate cake, etc. All very good!
Anyone who gives true food less than 5 stars is crazy. It is my #1 go to all time fav place to eat. I trust them more than anywhere. Food is incredible *chefs kiss* organic, no seed oils, local, regenerative farming, grass fed….all the things that make food nourishing. They’re so knowledgeable about gluten and dairy allergies and most the menu items are already gluten free or can be made gluten free. If I could eat here every meal of every day honestly I would in a heartbeat.
I ordered the huevos rancheros that stated to be gluten free on the menu, and as the dish was brought out to me they stated it was gluten free as well. I had one of the worst reactions I’ve ever had and am very sick. I’m not sure what could’ve been contaminated but beware when going here!
Do NOT eat here if you are celiac. I’ve been here twice in about two years. Both times the waiter was knowledgeable of celiac and gluten free and they assured me the kitchen takes precautions, etc.
Both times I got violently ill within 20 mins.
I will never go back to this particular True Foods. Don’t risk it!
True Food always goes above and beyond to make sure I don’t get sick! I have been many times and have had great experiences with them. They have so many delicious GF meals, including the most amazing lasagna. They also have the best hummus and offer GF pita with it. I’m very sensitive to cross contamination, and I feel safe eating here!
I will say, I only get meals that are marked GF. One time I ordered a meal that contained gluten that had to be modified for me to eat, and there was a bit of farro (wheat) left on the plate. 😩
All in all, I highly recommend!! I eat here regularly and feel very safe now that I only order meals marked GF. I give them 4.5 stars for safety because I’ve been here so many times and have always been safe except that one time!
This is one of my favorite restaurants to visit because the menu has clear notations of gf items and even though im pretty sure it’s a shared kitchen space , it does seem like they take concerted efforts to avoid CC when you tell them you of your dietary restrictions. During my most recent visit I noticed on the receipt that the waiter had keyed in next to any item that I would be eating **ALLERGY**. I just really appreciate the thoughtfulness.
I was a little hesitant when I saw how much of the menu contains gluten, but this is my Aunt with Celiac’s favorite restaurant, so I decided to give it a try. The server knew about Celiac and was able to answer questions regarding my dairy allergy. We got the Brussels as an appetizer, and I ordered the Korean Noodle bowl. Both were delicious, but unnecessarily salty in my opinion. I was able to order chocolate cake and ice cream which was a HUGE treat!
I ate here yesterday and didn’t get sick. We ate lunch and dinner and had different servers. They were both knowledgeable about Celiac and very reassuring there would be no cross contamination. I got to enjoy cookies and ice cream and it was AMAZING!! We will probably eat here anytime we are down in Nashville!
Amazing food and you feel good after eating there. Best part is there’s something you can get for each course if you’d like. The noodle bowl is my personal favorite but they also have a pizza crust if you want flatbread. Manager usually brings the food if you’ve indicated an allergy. Get the quinoa brownie sundae.
The food and atmosphere are good, and the staff is friendly, however both times I’ve eaten here I ended up getting sick. The first time I had a burger on a gluten free bun and the server and manager assured me how safe it was for celiacs. I was sick before I left the building. I decided to give it another shot and ordered items specifically labeled GF on the menu, and still ended up glutened. I did notice that the GF stands for gluten friendly not gluten free, and maybe I’m more sensitive than I thought, but I don’t consider this restaurant safe for celiacs disease.
Amazing food and service if you are near one of their locations I would totally recommend going.
This last week I was in Kansas City for a conference. I was within walking distance of True Food Kitchen. I had such a terrific experience the first night at dinner that I went back the following two nights for dinner. The staff was wonderful. Multiple people checked with me to make sure everything was OK. The gluten-free items are marked on the menu. Even though the Mediterranean hummus was not marked gluten-free, they could make it gluten-free as long as it did not have the red sauce on it. The special pita chips, they brought me were good. The street tacos on the happy hour menu were tasty. I had the Korean noodle bowl on two different nights. One night with shrimp and one night with beef steak. They were both delicious. There are numerous other items on the menu that could be made gluten-free.
Staff was knowledgeable. Several items on the menu marked gf. Absolutely tasty!
