Our favorite restaurant in Chicago! So fresh, lots of gluten free and vegan options and lots of things you can easily make gluten free!
A great place to eat with outstanding GF food at not over-the-top prices. Lots of on and off menu options. A definite return for me.
OMG THIS PLACE IS A HIDDEN GEM of this app bc it was crowded but their food is AMAZING. Totally celiac safe, this is the kind of place that knows what they are doing. All the staff were knowledgable and had menu items marked. However they can also make other items gluten free through modification. They have gluten free pizza crust and pita as well as buns and bread. This was our first time there but true food kitchen has already made it to my list of all time favorite restaurants (which is EXTREMELY selective let me assure you). they have a ton of dairy, vegetarian, vegan and of course gluten free options. But whether you are a die-hard carnivore who believes vegans are a blight on this planet to an exclusively raw food proponent, there is something at true food kitchen for you. I had the phanaeng curry with chicken and a chance to sample the entrees of my dining mates, the Moroccan chicken and inside out quinoa burger. We also ordered the cauliflower appetizer I forget what the exact name was. All three were excellent. I would order the curry again right now even though I am so full I doubt I’d be able to keep anything down to be frank. Anyways phanaeng curry was an infinity-out-of-ten, the Moroccan chicken was excellent as well, I didn’t think it was good as the curry but still the kind of dish that changes your life. The quinoa burger was phenomenal as well. The cauliflower starter had some sort of sauce and it was partially blackened and on the same level as the curry, which again has made it to my list of all time favorites. Finally, as the culmination to a heavenly, otherworldly experience, we had for dessert the squash pie and a blueberry muffin with ice cream. The squash pie was amazing. Enough said. I wanted to rewind my life after I ate it so I could eat it again. And again. And again. We will 100% be back, probably tomorrow for brunch if I can convince my family to go. If you haven’t tried this place, you HAVE TO GO. there are so many menu options in all different sorts of cultures and cuisines and as a celiac it’s amazing that places like this exist.
Gf menu. Has pizza, lasagne (was delicious) and tacos which were also amazing. Would strongly recommend this amazing food.

Told staff I had celiac disease and was promised they would be extra careful. Ordered the Pad Thai (marked GF) on menu. When food arrived, I began eating and noticed a ravioli mixed in with the food. At first, they claimed it was a mushroom, but quickly realized their mistake. The explanation I received was the ‘pasta station’ was next to where they prepare the Rice noodles. I asked how they would be addressing this in the future and they did not have an answer. Was offered a free meal, but have not gone back.
Staff knowledgeable about gf...not a ton of selections, but enough and good choices. The server was pretentious and acted like we wouldn’t know what the food was “hoped we were ready to eat intentionally and healthfully”. Would definitely go back. Gf labeled on the menu.
so safe here we’ve eaten at this one multiple times, never an issue.... always great food, great service just be careful, it is always packed
The staff was knowledgeable about cross contamination issues. The steak tacos were great! No dairy and no gluten in them. Had a sour cream replacement with coconut milk yoghurt that was awesome! Great place environmentally conscious slightly expensive but worth it.
I was so excited to try out this restaurant since it received a 100% celiac safe rating. The menu had a lot of GF items including banana pancakes! I was so excited and comfortable ordering off this menu. The staff was very knowledgeable and I didn’t think there would be a problem. I realized how wrong I was four hours later as I started to violently throw up the heuvos rancheros. At first I thought it could be food poisoning, but everyone else at my table ordered the same and no one else had a problem. I’ve had celiac disease for seven years now and this is only the second time I’ve thrown up. The first time was when I was first diagnosed and I was testing my sensitivity by eating a fried Oreo (not smart). For me to have a reaction like this I had to have gotten a serious amount of gluten in my food. Really sad this place didn’t work out, it was so tasty (not so much the second time around).
First off the food was super delicious and the presentation was beautiful! We had the cauliflower and Brussels spouts appetizer. For dinner we had the Sweet potato noodle ramen as spaghetti squash lasagna. We verified with the waitress that we both had celiac and she showed us where are choices are already marked gf so we would be fine. However this is probably the worst case of being glutened I’ve had in years. Both my partner and I have been sick for the last three days. We had to rush home because we both got violently ill. So if you have celiac or have to be vegan or veggie for allergic reason I highly recommend staying away it’s clearly for the trend.
This place was amazing! Clearly marked menu. Many choices including gluten free buns. I had a grass fed burger, miso marinated eggplant, and strawberry rhubarb crumble! Delicious. People are helpful and friendly! I asked if there will be one in Vegas and they said yes!
Celiac-friendly in my experience. Our waitress knew precisely what on the normal menu was and was not available GF and knew the corner cases to look for with the specials menu (e.g. soy sauce as part of the seasonal brussel sprouts). Food was great, to boot! It's in a mall of sorts, but the outdoor seating was quite nice.
Didn't even stay. Not many options, and the cucumbers and lettuce were being prepared on a counter that also had a bowl of flour, and flour spilled all over the place.
The food was good, and they did not gluten me. Apparently they have an allergy protocol in place for many different ingredients, and are known for this. My husband and I had the summer tacos. I had the fish and he had the beef. Both were quite good, though we had to order a third plate of them as one each was not enough.
The staff was knowledgeable and assured me it was gluten-free. As I walked out, I saw a waiter rolling the silverware onto the napkins on the same table where they roll out pizza. The flour was everywhere. I tested with my Nima and there was gluten in my dish that was supposed to be gluten-free. Sorry. If you are celiac, I wouldn’t eat here.
Amazing Gf/Df and vegan options. A little pricey but every once in awhile its worth it. Had the most amazing strawberry rhubarb crisp that was gf with a scoop of the most delicious vanilla ice cream from Villa dolce (coconut milk). I was told they have a separate area to toast gf bread etc. I never know if I’ve experienced cross contamination since I’m not celiac but this place seems legit. Our waitress even told me she has RA and strictly avoids a number of foods including all gluten.
It’s nice to feel not guilty of eating out. In fact it felt healthier than homemade meals. Menu was clearly marked and had a lot of options. They made a mistake and brought something not indicated as gluten free but made gluten free, so I’m sure they are very accommodating. Had pad thai(so so, don’t expect pad thai you get at thai restaurants), quinoa burger(delicious), fish tacos(kids ate very well). Especially the quinoa burger was very creative. Our dishes had more veggies and less carbs than what I except at most other restaurants. Didn’t get sick. The only thing was, none of us were full after...
Food was great and seasonal! Lots of variety, including the GF options, which is always exciting and overwhelming as someone with celiac. Waitress was knowledgeable, nice, and accommodating. I was informed they are familiar with cross contamination, have a separate fryer, a GF pizza dough option, and that man gluten dishes could be made GF.
Ate here once a couple weeks ago. They were incredibly busy for being early evening, which made me nervous. Menu isn’t huge in general, so limited GF options. They did understand my needs due to Celiac & mentioned the precautions they use. Pricey for what you get. Chia Seed Pudding was delicious though.

Staff was extremely knowledgeable about cross contamination and their gf items were clearly labeled. They assured and reassured me that they’d change gloves, ensure clean surfaces, no fillers in their sauces, etc. Unfortunately although I felt great about my order, it tested positive w/ the Nima and I couldn’t eat. Thankful to have been spared a painful glutening but sad to see that even w/ all their assurances of a safe meal, gluten was still detected. Our waiter was very apologetic and seemed embarrassed at the fact that although the manager came and apologized, he didn’t give a discount or comp my husband’s meal or even offer a different plate even though I had to sit there unable to eat. I asked them to remove my plate off the bill and they did. Sad experience overall for someone w/ Celiac but thankful for my Nima.
Never have an issue here and I’m a very sensitive Celiac. I was told, however, not to order the pizza because it is cooked/prepared on the same surface as the regular pizza. Everything else is clearly marked and they even have gf dessert!
A little on the pricey/trendy side, but dang is their food good. The menu is clearly marked with what is gf. Their gf pita is on point. This place has a healthy vibe, but if that’s not your thing don’t be wary, because the food is so tasty.
