My sandwich was delicious! I will definitely be back. They have gluten free bread but I’m not sure about cross contamination.

I asked the person taking orders about gluten free options to which she responded,"We have vegetarian. Does that work?" I explained they're very different things, and asked me what exactly gluten is again. We left.

I have never had an issue here. The staff is not always knowledgeable but someone usually is and they will follow your requests (glove change, clean surface, etc). Sometimes they have more than one gf bread option too which is nice.

I love their sandwiches. I am very sensitive and eat here quite often. I love being able to pick up something quick for lunch and feel confident the food was prepared correctly.

What a great place! The young ladies behind the counter knew exactly what needed to be done for food preparation and explained their process from start to finish. Had a very good sandwich outside of my house for the first time in many, many years and I could not be more appreciated. Felt safe, was safe, felt and still feel perfect after 12 hours. Thank you, ladies, for your care and outstanding service!

Good! They have gluten free bread. They have a delish turkey sandwich! We are unsure about the fryer so we didn’t get fries but we are trying to confirm. Overall it’s good!

My boys and I love this restaurant. I’m celiac but they are not. The staff is super helpful, totally aware of celiac/gluten free. They never hesitate to change gloves and clean the kitchen area. I almost always get a salad (so yummy) the boys always get the sandwiches. We’ve never been “glutened” in the 9 years since I was diagnosed.

Delicious bread! And my pup can eat lunch with me on the patio.

I know this place has great reviews but I got glutened here. I had my sandwich on a lettuce wrap and all I can think is that there was cross contamination of some kind. It was a pretty miserable reaction. If you choose to eat here I would definitely ask a manager to supervise your order.
No
Always eaten safely here! Staff is knowledgeable and helpful. They even stock gf desserts daily.

We go here at least once a week and so far I haven't had any issues. Their GF California Club on Imagine That bread is delicious!

Nice to be able to order a sandwich! Good bread, loved the chicken salad - great experience. So glad to see many locations!
Great food, they handle gluten-free as an "allergy" but not worth the argument! Do say "yes" to it is an allergy and they seem to handle it fairly well...although without fail, there are packaged crackers on the tray if you get a salad or soup. A flag or label on the tray would be nice or even just a toothpick sign saying "gf" to let you know that each person handling your food was aware. Great gf breads and sometimes cookies or brownies.
Love the breakfast here, especially the bacon egg and cheese on gluten free pita.
Awesome place for breakfast. The provide imagine that GF breads for burgers and sandwiches. They also are good understanding of food allergies. Their food is great as well step up from a diner, never had a bad experience here.
They have some of the best gluten free bread you can get, and take cross contamination very seriously. You can even buy the bread in loaves (though a loaf is really pricey, I do treat myself to it occasionally).
Yes
Pita bread was excellent.
Yes
The GF pita is delicious! And the brownie, too. ;)
This place is amazing! They offer gluten free pita bread (when heated can double as paninis!) as well as gluten free sliced white bread. They are well versed in gluten free allergies and the food is delicious!
I have been to village deli several times since my diagnosis. I have a gluten sensitivity but the staff do not understand celiac. The first time I went after diagnosis, I was not given gluten free bread despite requesting and emphasizing why I needed gluten free bread. They did correct the mistake but the food item I had ordered was not gluten free (black bean burger) and no one on staff noticed when I asked for the food item and if it had gluten in it. I had made sure to ask several times, the chef came out and said it was gluten free. I only found this out when a family member went to get me a black bean burger and the staff on that day JUST HAPPENED to know that the black bean burger had gluten in it! The fries are all fried in gluten contaminated oil. If you have no gluten issues the food is wonderful. If you have celiac, educate the staff as they do not know if their food has gluten in it. It was an incredibly frustrating experience both times. I will not be returning.

No gf menu but when I asked, staff explained all the items they could do gf (most of the menu!) Staff was very knowledgeable about celiac, said they have a separate fryer and they change gloves for gf orders. They also have gf panko for breaded items, and gf bread. They double checked salad dressings to be sure they were gf when I ordered. And they have great fries!

They offer gluten free bread (white or wheat) for sandwiches and it was not your typical gluten free bread. It was not dense like most brands. It was really good.
Do not eat here if you have celiac disease. They do have gf options on their menu, however there is a lot of cross contamination in the kitchen. I ate here a few years ago and they were better about cross contamination, but every time I’ve ate here recently I got very sick. I thought the fryer was safe but the cook told me it is only safe when they are not busy, which to me means it must not be gf at all times. I confirmed it with stomach pain shortly after eating the sweet potato fries.
