Super frustrated with Viva Chicken, I’ve been eating here for months and only just found out that the chicken is all marinated with ingredients containing wheat, which means all chicken is contaminated with gluten. Won’t be returning as not being able to eat the chicken makes the menu pretty sparse.

Their chicken is marinated in NON GF Beer. Caution if wheat allergy or celiac. YOU WILL GET SICK
I ate here and had the chicken didn't know it was marinated in beer but I didn't get sick? I have pretty severe celiacs too so maybe they changed it?
*ALL CHICKEN CONTAINS GLUTEN * They will INSIST that their chicken is GF but it is not. All of their chicken is marinated in PBR (beer), which we verified with employees. No matter how many people tell them that their chicken is not GF, they continue to claim it is.

**the chicken is not celiac safe** I talked to three separate employees along the way while ordering takeout. The first one didn’t mention that the chicken is marinated in beer. The second one said it was (I asked after reading a review here about it), but she said that the beer is gluten free. The third one at pickup said the beer is NOT gluten free. It’s Pabst beer. So I skipped the chicken, and ate the fried rice and cob salad. Both really good and I didn’t get sick at all.
Update: I decided to try the chicken since they claimed they have so many customers with celiac who eat the chicken… I got sick 😕

Super good with lots of gluten free options. The Arroz Chaufa rice has gluten free soy sauce. Loved it.

The chicken is marinated in beer. Manager claims they have tested the chicken after being cooked and it meets the 20ppm levels so it’s included on the menu as not containing gluten. Anything fried is either not GF or is cross contaminated.

This is a great place to eat. I saw on another persons review that there was a nutrition sheet so I looked that up rather than relying on faulty information from workers. It basically said that the chicken is safe but anything fried, wrapped or a sandwich was not gf.

I have eaten here every time I pass through st George since I discovered it ( maybe five times) you can find an allergen menu online. I always call in the order to ask questions about prep and I feel confident they take extra measures. I order the rotisserie chicken, green beans, arroz chaufa, and solterito. Their three sauces are Gf and pretty good. The food is consistently good in good portions and I have never been sick after dining here. Friends who are not Gf have enjoyed the food. I will return next time I’m in town.

Had the 1/4 chicken green beans, sweet potato fries and the cilantro rice. Service was fast, pricing was great and the food was AWESOME! So glad to have visited this restaurant!
Tacu bowl! Order it every time and I don’t get sick. Also the sauces are amazing.

I had been nervous based on reviews. The cashier said they did gluten free, but I asked to talk to the manager. She ensured they would change gloves and make it gluten free/celiac friendly & was so helpful at answering my questions. I got the stuffed avocado and did so good here! No reaction. It was really yummy.

So good! Knowledgeable staff about Celiac. Tons of options. Went back the very next day to eat there again. Highly recommend

Good food. Fun sides. Knowledgeable about gluten free.
Idk what the person is talking about saying all their chicken is marinated in beer...it’s not. I went and it is very celiac friendly. The only things with gluten are the usual suspects (cakes, churros, anything fried). But I told them I had an allergy and what I wanted and they said all of what we ordered was gluten free, but they went ahead and changed gloves when prepping my meal. Which was extremely delicious! I got the taku bowl with chicken and had some of my husbands gf fried rice with chicken. And all Of it was SO delicious!

Three days after eating here and I feel fine. I had rotisserie chicken, fruit and cilantro lime rice. I asked if the rice was cooked in chicken broth and the server said, “I don’t know but it should be fine.” I asked him to check and he did. Good service and good food.
I am EXTREMELY sensitive to cross contamination so if you are not that way but choose to or have to eat gluten free I would say go here. The food looks amazing and they have a lot of gluten free options just not a ton of completely Celiac friendly options( for example all of their chicken is marinated in beer). Here is my experience:
After doing some research and reading reviews I decided to give this place a try. Sadly I won't be returning any time soon. They guy taking my order was not knowledgeable at all when I started asking him questions. But thankfully the owner came over and was so helpful telling me what would be safe to eat. I am SO thankful he came over because he saved me from getting super sick. He let me know that all the chicken is marinated in beer. That some of their sides have elements that are not gluten free and obviously anything that is friend is not gluten free. Basically the only thing I could safely eat was a salad. The safest salad for me was the Cobb salad and it was delicious but something on there did make me have a small reaction. (Can't take me anywhere..) long story short I won't be going back. But I have heard of others with Celiac who have not had a reaction and love eating here. Like I said the food looked amazing and I am so so grateful for the owner from saving me from a rough couple of days.

really good food. We have 3 people in my family with celiac disease and haven't been sick.

This was really good and the staff was so knowledgeable and friendly. I will definitely come back when I visit St George again.
Fantastic! I am extremely sensitive to cross contamination, I have eaten here twice now without any reaction. They are knowledgeable about gluten and what on their menu has gluten, they change gloves when a gluten free order comes through, they really just seem to go above and beyond. The icing on the cake is that the food is amazing! A healthy alternative that has a ton of flavor! And most of their menu is gf, even their fried rice (the use gf soy sauce)! Definitely a new favorite.
Fantastic! Great options. Great flavor. Super fast service.

Their chicken is delicious and gluten free and they have a selection of sides and dishes that are gluten free. They also have gluten free soy sauce for their fried rice.

Lots of gluten free options, let them know your gf for a glove change. Tasty, Rice bowl or stuffed avacado and passion fruit drink is my go to.
They have allergy menu online and in house if you ask.

They have GF items marked (basically anything that isn't fried and wrapped). It's delicious and they have tons of options. Staff isn't super knowledgeable but since we don't order the fried stuff I feel pretty confident.
