Their gluten-free section has many fresh and packaged foods of all sorts, including frozen. The bakery will also produce cakes of many types if ordered one day in advance. Great for sensitivity, but bakery cannot guarantee no contamination for those who have celiac disease.
A lot of pre-packaged food items that have no gluten containing ingredients. I often get the sushi which comes with a packet of gluten free soy sauce. I go here weekly and have not been sick. Within the grocery store, Wegmans has one of the largest gluten free sections with options it’s hard to find elsewhere!
The Sushi here is gluten free including the tempura. It is fresh and is prepped in a gluten free space. The soy sauce included in the packaging is gluten free as well.
There are allergy warnings as the open air kitchen is across from the bakery. I have never had an issue.
Wegmans itself has a wide variety of gluten free products clearly labeled.
Many items are advertised as gluten free; however, there is a common fryer and no precautions taken in the kitchen. When asked, the staff were oblivious to potential cross contamination. Asked numerous times, spoke to kitchen staff, store managers. . All stated that signage was "from corporate". Dangerous culture for a brand that advertises "healthy choices.
