Even on a Sunday night with skeleton staff I was well taken care of. As soon as I mentioned Celiac my server took off his gloves and told me he was going to the back to make my pizza completely separately. Great quick service concept, you pick any toppings you like in a Subway style line. I picked my toppings and my server wrote them down and disappeared into the back (they didn’t use the contaminated toppings from the normal line). Delicious and safe!
"It is possible that there may be trace amounts of flour among our toppings. Our team members would be happy to change their gloves and build your pizza in a separate prep area in the back upon request if you are allergic to gluten. Gluten-free pizzas are baked in an aluminum tray to promote easy identification and reduced gluten contact. However, since we do work around flour all day and ALL pizzas are baked in the same oven, we can not guarantee that trace particles of flour and/or gluten are not in and around gluten-free items."
Gluten free crust is available and pre-made. When I requested gluten free, I was immediately asked if it was an allergy. When I said it was, I was then asked if I needed it made in the back, away from where all the regular ones are made. I requested that, and he brought it out for me to look at before baking to make sure everything was as I had ordered it. They do go in a common oven but the gf crust is in its own tin. I liked the texture of the crust a lot. My friend thought it was "just ok".
Was really excited about being able to order vegan and celiac safe pizza, however it did not pass my nima sensor twice :( The staff is extremely knowledgeable and they really do take every precaution, however my nima said gluten found on the first pizza they made me so we asked if they could try again, and unfortunately the second pizza also said gluten found. I want to say it’s probably the ingredients getting cross contaminated at some point in the manufacturing and packaging process because the staff makes the celiac safe pizzas in the back at a separate station and they cook the GF pizzas in a safe pan with a lid in the general oven. I might try it again down the road to see if it will pass, but I definitely recommend that celiacs that have a nima sensor use it, and those that don’t should maybe avoid this place.
Wow! We were on the road between AZ and Disney and stopped here after reading reviews. The pizza was delicious and they made my Celiac sons pizza from fresh ingredients from the kitchen rather than upfront. We will absolutely stop here again. Good food, impeccable restaurant and bathrooms and they literally said “we take your sons safety very seriously.”
Staff is very knowledgeable about cross contamination. When ordering gluten free the employee writes down the toppings you want on your pizza and assembles it in the back. It is cooked in the same oven but on a tin baking sheet and covered so it does not touch the oven. It is cut with a different pizza cutter. I feel very safe eating here! Not to mention it is delicious!
Pizza was good and they do try hard to prevent cross contamination, however, if they’re busy with lots of pizzas in the oven, I think heat convection causes wheat flour to float all over the oven. I was crampy afterward :(
The staff was very nice and accommodating. When you order, tell them you have an allergy and they will make it in the back with separate toppings, trays, and cutters. Even after a football game they were very busy and still were very cautious and i did not get sick (I have celiac so cross contamination is a big concern for me). Also this was the best gluten free pizza I have ever had, it tastes just like regular pizza!
Every time I have come here it has been amazing! They are very careful with my pizza. I always mention “gluten allergy” so they take it seriously. I also ask them to keep it in a little longer cause I like my pizza crispy and they cook it in a separate pan. I’ve been to more than one location and never disappointed
I have been here several times now. When I order a gluten free pie they ask me if I’m allergic: that way they can change their gloves and prepare it in a separate area including another oven. I have never been sick afterwards which is great! But not only that, the pizzas have great flavor and you get a lot of ingredients to choose from. They also have wine and dessert! Great place
Gluten free crust and lactose free veggie cheese available. They will make the pizza in separate area in the back using fresh ingredients if you say you have an allergy. Been here a few times and have not had any problems.
We got two gluten free pizzas barbeque chicken and the Nat. They tasted great! Like a regular thin crust pizza should taste like. They were very careful with cross contamination. We have tasted a lot of crappy gluten free pizza and this was one of the best we have tasted.
The staff explained they used a dedicated pan. They used toppings and sauce and cheese from the back that had not been exposed to regular crust. They covered the pizza when it was in the oven. I had ham and bacon. It was delicious!
Great pizza and extremely helpful staff! I have a gluten and dairy allergy. They asked me to write my order down so there were no mistakes, they made it in a special area, and when they noticed I had requested the basil pesto for my pizza, they immediately came out to tell me that the pesto contained dairy and offered alternatives. After all of that amazing service, the pizza came out —- yummmm! Best GF crust I’ve had in a while, and I had no idea the cheese was vegan. I’d recommend them any time!
Absolutely the best experience, best choices, most yummy gluten free pizza. Usually it’s either a great crust and hardly any toppings etc. but this was everything 10/10 they make the GF pizzas in the back in a separate area crust tastes homemade and not like cardboard. They have tons and tons of GF toppings. The best part is they also have dairy free cheese so it was a win/win for our family
The staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. Great experience.
This is the best gf pizza in flag! They make everything separate. I’ve gone there at least once a week for the past year and have never become sick afterwards. The staff is great and very well trained!
My celiac kids were fine with their GF pizza. However they managed to give me Cesar dressing for my salad which has wheat in it and I was very sick.
Staff did ask if I wanted my pizza prepared in back, changed gloves even though I'm Gluten sensitive and not celiac (although it seems to be getting worse). My only issues are that the vegan cheese is daiya which isn't the best texture or taste wise and I am also intolerant to dairy. It was difficult to order since I had never been there before... The menu does not specify what has allergens in it... It hangs on the wall as you walk through the cafeteria style line. I would love to have had a salad but with no info on dressings... And all salads being premade with cheese in them, I did not order. There is a sense of feeling rushed because of the ordering style which means I'm less likely to ask questions or order more. Would also have loved to have a brownie.... Which is extremely easy to make gluten and dairy free... But again nothing was conveniently labeled. Pizza was ok. Mostly the vegan cheese is off-putting, but the crust is put into a foil pan and baked as so to not cross contaminate it... Which is awesome, but it was flimsy/not crispy when it came out.... Maybe I should have asked for it to be well done.... That might do the trick. I would go back, but I'm still on the lookout for a better option. These are personal sized pizzas, but my 5 year old son and I shared one, each having 3 pieces. The up charge for gluten free is 3.00... Which I'm happy to pay... Considering that it means more gloves and gluten free flour are more expensive.
Delicious! Was able to have a pizza that was gluten, dairy, corn, and soy free! They have at least one dairy free sorbet each day as well. So happy to find a safe place! They make the gluten free pizzas in the back with separate ingredients away from the others and cook it separately as well.
This place is awesome. Create your own pizza (with no additional charge for extra toppings!). They’ll prep the gf pizza in the back if you ask. I loved their gf crust. My stomach did feel a little unsettled several hours after eating here, but my digestion is inconsistent, so it could have been something else. Posting a pic as well.
This place was great! They make the GF pizza in the back away from everything else. They even put it in a pan with a metal lid on it to keep from CC. No reaction whatsoever! May have to make this a regular stop for the family.
This place tastes amazing! Great food, even better service. The only thing is if you are a celiac don’t go during prime hours. They do have a separate kitchen for gluten free orders but they all share the same oven. Granted they do put the pizza on a pan in the oven so it doesn’t touch. There is still a lot of moving parts and only so much they can do during crazy rushes. They really do try to keep an eye on the gluten-free pies if you have a severe allergy, and if they suspect any type of cross-contamination they’ll try to make your order over again. But again there is only so much they can do. So I would give them a 5 star usually but last night my wife got sick from them and we should have known better but we’ve eaten there before without her getting sick. Maybe we’ll try again when it’s slow......
Extremely knowledgeable!!! And super careful. It was fast and easy to order and not a long wait at all. The pizza was sooo good! And I did not get sick! Ate here 2 time while vacationing in Savannah and loved it each time!
This pizza is awesome! I just visited for the first time. The staff are very conscientious about allergies/sensitivities. Nearly all the toppings are gluten free (except the meatballs). The crust has a nice texture with a light crunch on the bottom.
I love this place. I try to come at a slow time, and the manager now recognizes me. She is already changing her gloves and has a pencil and paper ready to take my order to the back before I reach the counter. Jennifer is extremely diligent! She keeps my pizza away from others in the oven, she sweeps before my pizza is in the oven, and doesn’t sweep again until after my pizza is out. They have dedicated cutting equipment in the front, and they have a dedicated space in the back using ingredients not on the line to prevent cross contamination. I love their pizzas, and Jennifer has kept me safe!
Pizza was so good! Thin crust but got to pick all the toppings. They asked if it was allergy or preference and when I said allergy the girl immediately took off her gloves and went to make it in the back. It was a little crisp on the edges but I know how hard it is to make a gluten free crust so it didn't bother me. The 10in crust was 11.99 and it did take a little longer to bake but it was well worth the wait. My family loved it too! Will eat here again!
I have eaten here three times in the last 6 weeks. It has become our "go-to" spot when we are in Phenix City. Fairly affordable and lots of choices. I have celiac; my SO is not gluten free. I have experimented a bit since the first time when my pizza crust was cooked through but did not hold shape (light sauce, extra crispy fixed that issue for me). They ask me right away if I need it prepared in the back and then immediately take off gloves to take my order to the back, where it is prepared away from the gluten containing items. My pizza goes on its pan into the brick oven (non-GF goes directly in without a pan) and into a section well away from the gluten pizzas. I have NEVER gotten sick from them and I am hyper-sensitive to cross contamination. Only thing that would make it better would be to have an area with access to the brick oven of its own that is fully designated gluten free so my pizza could go directly into the oven and have the opportunity to fully crisp on bottom, which is not something as easily designed. Can't wait to move up this way and have it nearby all the time!!!
Good enough when you’re hungry. They asked if I had an allergy and when I said yes they cooked the pizza in the back away from all the flour. Pizza crust is typical gluten free- tasteless. But that’s how you know it’s safe!
